About: I live in the Sacramento Delta in a quiet neighborhood. Great neighborhood for walks and a nice fenced corner lot yard for your pup to run around in. I live with my elderly father who enjoys meeting new doggy friends. 24 hr supervision since I work remotely! I’m an early riser and enjoy morning walks. Your doggy will recieve a good amount of outdoor time and have an active and stimulating day. I’m comfortable with your dog sleeping in bed with me but respect if you prefer them to sleep in a crate. I work remotely so I have no issue staying at your house as well!
“Kept us up to date regularly with how the dogs were doing. Very kind and gentle. Our female had surgery just a couple of days prior to our trip and she took great care of her and followed all discharge instructions as provided. She was very patient with our boy. He tends to not like strangers and they did great! Would definitely recommend her!”

“Megan is AMAZING. She is communicative, punctual, and was great with both our cat and dog. I left detailed notes and she followed them perfectly. Her updates and photos were detailed and frequent. I will use Megan again and again, in fact, she is already booked for next time! Thanks, Megan, for a great job!”

“We had Brina stay with our pups for four days and she really bonded with them in that short time. She has maturity and is very responsible, paying attention to the details and our pups were very happy and quite calm upon our return. She has a gentle and mellow personality which mirrors that of our little cavaliers. Brina took great care of our babies as well as our home in our absence. We are quite pleased with Brina and we look forward to having her stay in our home for a longer, extended time. Thank you Brina.”

“Katie does a great job with our two dogs who absolutely love her! She took them for walks and showed them lots of attention. She was great in communicating with us on a regular basis. She took care of our house, got our mail, and watered our plants. We would not hesitate to have her back and our dogs would love that too!”
“Margaret took great care of the pups. I think the dogs had such a great time in her care, they would have liked us to take a few more days of vacation. In all seriousness, Margaret is responsible, caring and we'll definitely reach out to her the next time we need pet sitting. I highly recommend her.”

“Alina saved our weekend. She was available on short notice and stayed with our dog while we went to a wedding. She was very attentive with Ivy and was very responsive to my multiple texts. Would use her again!”

“Susan was easy to communicate with, on time, and spoiled our senior blind dog. She stayed at our home over a long weekend and walked and fed our dog everyday. Thanks so much!”

About: I have been a pet owner since I entered the world. Most of my experience is with dogs, but I do have two cats. As of now, most of my pet-sitting jobs have been for close family friends. I am just starting on my Rover journey. I am a college student who is looking to help pay for my college expenses. I'm only offering Friday-Sunday right now since I will be working during the week and don't have a flexible schedule. On the weekends, your dogs will have my full attention :) I do not provide care in my own home. I will work with you to ensure that your pet feels safe with me while I am in their space.
About: I've been housesitting since 2010, mainly cats and dogs. Multi-pet houses don't bother me and I'm good at keeping with your fur kids' schedules. I have and RVT license that is current and have been an RVT for over 10 years. I took a break from housesitting to work at animal hospitals, including a 24-hour critical care hospital in the ICU. Medications and medical treatments are no problem for me. I have an open schedule and am comfortable with either staying at your home for your pet's comfort, or I can visit everyday to make sure they are cared for. I adjust to their wants and needs and stick to their schedule. I'm low stress and understand that sometimes pets just need to warm up to you. As for my personal pets, there's four cats with totally different personalities that run the house (I just live there).
“Diana was absolutely amazing with our little cat. We were abroad for 3 weeks and she was booked in for a home stay to live in with our cat. She treated our cat as her own and looked after her so well, and gave us lots of updates on her, which gave us so much peace of mind. Diana also treated our home so respectfully and it was so clean and well kept to return to. Our cat definitely loved her company too and got comfortable with her really quickly. I believe we have found our forever pet sitter for any future trips away too. Thank you so much for the perfect 3 weeks for our cat.”

“Ayanna was great to work with -- very responsive, and able to take great care of our somewhat complicated and challenging dog. Would book her again for dog-sitting and house-sitting in a heartbeat.”

“Joel took care of my large breed dog in my home over Memorial Day weekend and I am so happy with how everything went. Not only did he accept the job last minute, but he went above and beyond during the boarding, picking up after my dog in the backyard, taking out my trash from the bins in the house, and sending me loving photos everyday. Joel is an excellent caretaker.”
About: I’ve always had an affinity for animals. I trained & loved my 2 yorkies until they passed in their golden ages. I now have a 1 year old yorkie boy named Aston he is fixed, and very friendly. I also have a son that is 11 years old and he wants more pets, so I figured this would be a win win if we opted to be caregivers to give our guy a play friend and share our love of animals. Although my son will play with the pets, I assure that this time will be supervised and I will be the primary responsible caregiver. I work from home, as a life coach and my son is home schooled via zoom with his teacher. We can easily accommodate caring for additional pets during the week. I have a large, open real grass lawn space that is fenced in for there safety. I also Have all hardwood floors, so it’s very way to clean up any accidents if any occur.

About: I have had many different breeds and size of pets in my life since eight years old, I have cleaned up after or cleaned the pets and fed the pets. I am available Tuesday-Saturday most mornings to afternoon depending on the day. I attend Solano Community College and will be going twice a week. I also have a part-time job where I work 3-4 days a week. I currently don’t have my own pets due to living situation, but my partners family has four dogs and my parents have a dog that I have had the pleasure of playing with and caring for. I would love to take any dogs on walks or play with any pets

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 2,415 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Walnut Grove. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Walnut Grove walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Walnut Grove maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Walnut Grove choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
