“Melissa was absolutely wonderful. My cat flapjack loved her. Took good care of him. Came home to a spotless house and a very happy kitty. Will be booking her again in the future!”

“Angela and Brian were fantastic. We only recently moved here and left behind our pet sitter of eight years. We feel lucky to have found Angela and Brian. They came by for a presitting visit to meet the dogs and watch them in their environment and to hear us talk about “they really are more than just dogs.” 😁 They sent daily pictures with a note of how everyone was doing. One of our boys developed a bothersome ear and they texted right away to see what they could do. They treated his ear with drops and cleaned it out and then the next day let us know that all was well. We had a worry free trip because of Angela and Brian and will be quick to book them again.”

“I have a large working line GSD and a blue and gold macaw. Margot was responsive and was able to help me out with short notice. I have a senior dog so there are a lot of supplements and meds to keep up with and everything was just as I left it when I returned. She did an excellent job! I can tell by my dog's behavior when I return if I have a good sitter as he definitely shows stress. It was like I went to work and came home. No anxiety or stress for my pup! Thanks Margo!”

“Mia was great! She sent photos, kept in contact and is super sweet. I had were no issues whatsoever and felt completely at ease. About: Have had animals in my life since I was a baby, ranging from dogs to hamsters to birds and many cats. Fostered kittens in college with my best friend and volunteered at HALO in high school, would love to be around animals again! I currently work full-time from Tues-Fri but have my weekends free and typically evenings! I’m a big time reader, so even if i’m stopping in to give them some company it’s no problem, I’ve got a book I can get lost in with some company. I typically will not be able to house any pets currently but am more than happy to come by your place to keep them comfortable in their space.
About: With over 15 years of experience caring for dogs of all sizes and temperaments, I understand how important it is to maintain your pet’s routine while you’re away. Whether it’s feeding, walks, playtime, or simply keeping them company, you can trust me to treat your pet like family and your home with respect. “My availability includes evenings on weekdays, with additional flexibility on select days off. I’m always happy to discuss schedules to make sure your pet’s needs are met.” I will adhere to the needs your pet requires in your home; feeding, playtime or just being company. Whatever the routine, they will have my full attention.
About: I have been around dogs my entire live and the past 5 or more years I've been taking care of medium sized dogs while staying at the owners house. I have plenty of experience with walking and treating a dog and also giving baths. I would love to take care and play with your animal. I am currently a student at UNF and I don't have time to work a full-time or even a part time real job because of my class schedule. So that is why I wanted to get into dog walking or animal sitting because it is easier for me to work around my class schedule. I currently live in a apartment that is strict about animals so I won't be able to house at my place but I am more than happy to watch at your place or take them somewhere to walk.
About: I have experience from my own pets throughout the years and being a vet tech for 7+ years. I have experience with cats and dogs. I can take care of them young or old. Just let me know your routines and i will try to fill the void while you are gone. I work at an animal hospital during the day so I can stop in before work, on my lunch break and after work, whichever you prefer. Im not offering home services at the moment, but if you would like me to stop in and make sure your pet has the best care. Also if medications are needed to be given, please let me know. I can do so and also make sure no love is lost when you are gone. I love animals and its one of the reasons why I got into the Vet field.
About: I have been helping to care of dogs and cats for my family and friends over about 12 years now. About 4 years ago I began to volunteer with local animal shelters and rescues. Through these rescues I have been able to foster, take dogs on "field trips," and socialize so many sweet fur babies! Almost 2 years ago, I adopted my own dog named Arnie, he is a Belgian Malinois and Dobermann mix. I did all training for him when he was 4 months old and have done a ton of research on the breeds. I feel confident in all breeds, sizes, ages, and energy levels! I also currently live with a cat and have experience with cats as well. I am currently a medical student in Spartanburg and have time prior to class, during lunch, and in the afternoon/evenings to stop by and hang out with your pets! I also have the weekends off and my schedule varies every day with flexibility to meet the needs of your fur babies. I can guarantee I will do my best to meet the needs of you and your pet in the best way possible! My dog is super friendly and is great on leashed walks with other dogs and is great to play off leash in the dog park at my apartment. I also have support at home to be able to leave him with friends while I am at your house to watch your pets and do not need to have him with me at all times!
“First time we had Danielle pet sit for our 12 year old chiweenie. She did a wonderful job and gave him all the love & attention he needed! We didn’t worry about a thing while we were away.”

“Morgan is an excellent house guest, she will keep you updated on how your pet is doing and sends pictures. She is very responsible and trustworthy, I am at ease when my furry critters when they are in her hands.”

Victoria did an excellent job house sitting our two pitties. She gave them plenty of love and attention, sent us frequent updates with cute photos, followed instructions, and left the house nice and clean. We will absolutely book with her again. Our pups miss her already!

This was our second booking with Reva, and all the furry ones were spoiled and happy. Reva communicated with me during both booking and always sends plenty of pictures (so I can see the shenanigans the dog and cats try to pull). I definitely recommend Reva to care for your pets

Mia was absolutely wonderful with my golden retriever, Moose! 🐾 She went above and beyond while watching him, making sure he was happy, cared for, and loved just like family. I came home to a clean and tidy house, and Moose was his usual playful, tail-wagging self — a true sign he was in great hands. I can’t recommend Mia enough if you’re looking for someone reliable, caring, and attentive to both your pet and your home. She exceeded my expectations in every way, and I’ll definitely be booking with her again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Vero Beach on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 593 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Vero Beach. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Vero Beach walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Vero Beach maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Vero Beach choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Vero Beach. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
