“Melissa was absolutely wonderful. My cat flapjack loved her. Took good care of him. Came home to a spotless house and a very happy kitty. Will be booking her again in the future!”

“I have a large working line GSD and a blue and gold macaw. Margot was responsive and was able to help me out with short notice. I have a senior dog so there are a lot of supplements and meds to keep up with and everything was just as I left it when I returned. She did an excellent job! I can tell by my dog's behavior when I return if I have a good sitter as he definitely shows stress. It was like I went to work and came home. No anxiety or stress for my pup! Thanks Margo!”

“Lillian was great! Had a lot of updates and and photos which made me know he was in good hands. Was very patient with his little quirks and also grateful dealing with his escape attempts. Made Maverick feel very comfortable while we were away.”

“Kaitlyn was absolutely amazing! She stayed overnight for 4 days at my home to care for my two dogs, and it gave me so much peace of mind knowing they weren’t alone. That meant everything to me. She was incredibly responsive, always on time, and kept me updated, which made the whole experience stress free. My dogs were happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for when I got back. I would 100 percent recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter. She’s a great choice!”

About: Hi! My name is Starla, and animals have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I currently have four dogs of my own and have grown up caring for many different types of animals. My love for pets is what inspired me to start dog walking and pet sitting. I understand that pets are family, and I will care for your furry friend as if they were my own. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or simply providing companionship, I am dedicated to making sure your pet feels safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I am responsible, trustworthy, patient, and passionate about animal care, and I would love the opportunity to meet you and your pet! I look forward to giving your pet the attention, care, and affection they deserve I love all my animals, they are my life. Everything I do revolves around them, so I’m very sure your dog is safe with me! I have a fenced yard in plenty of furry babies. Your dog can play with. I love each animal that comes my way, and respect your animal boundaries by caring for them.

“Aaliyah was absolutely fabulous with my 3 month old puppy. She stayed the entire time during my house sit and sent lots of update pictures to ease my nerves of leaving him for the first time. I strongly recommend Aaliyah and will definitely be booking with her again!”

About: I have experience from my own pets throughout the years and being a vet tech for 7+ years. I have experience with cats and dogs. I can take care of them young or old. Just let me know your routines and i will try to fill the void while you are gone. I work at an animal hospital during the day so I can stop in before work, on my lunch break and after work, whichever you prefer. Im not offering home services at the moment, but if you would like me to stop in and make sure your pet has the best care. Also if medications are needed to be given, please let me know. I can do so and also make sure no love is lost when you are gone. I love animals and its one of the reasons why I got into the Vet field.
“Lauren was amazing. Loved all the pictures she sent me of my Bentley. This was my first time using Rover in my house. Not sure if that’s what made my dogs tummy upset. But she cleaned up a huge mess that he left. Thank you so much Lauren.”

About: Have had animals in my life since I was a baby, ranging from dogs to hamsters to birds and many cats. Fostered kittens in college with my best friend and volunteered at HALO in high school, would love to be around animals again! I currently work full-time from Tues-Fri but have my weekends free and typically evenings! I’m a big time reader, so even if i’m stopping in to give them some company it’s no problem, I’ve got a book I can get lost in with some company. I typically will not be able to house any pets currently but am more than happy to come by your place to keep them comfortable in their space.
About: My best friends have always been my animals. I was lucky enough to be raised around horses, cows, donkeys, goats, dogs, and of course cats. I have a large ranch style property where we go for walks throughout the day. An initial meet and greet is appreciated so your kids know me and realize they are safe and one of your dirty shirts is always appreciated so they have your scent. I'm also licensed and insured. I'm a homebody and have a ranch style property. I'm up before the sun and start the day. The "kids" are fed and walked first thing and then we go for walks through the day. Its good exercise for all of us... and they can watch the horses. They live in the home like it's their own. I've been told they get excited when they know their mom and dad are dropping them off. I watch how they react and me and the kids go from there. The property is very large. I even have a fake fire hydrant in the back yard (which is pretty cute). The neighbors horses are always fun to watch and pet in the morning. It's very calm here.
About: I have been helping to care of dogs and cats for my family and friends over about 12 years now. About 4 years ago I began to volunteer with local animal shelters and rescues. Through these rescues I have been able to foster, take dogs on "field trips," and socialize so many sweet fur babies! Almost 2 years ago, I adopted my own dog named Arnie, he is a Belgian Malinois and Dobermann mix. I did all training for him when he was 4 months old and have done a ton of research on the breeds. I feel confident in all breeds, sizes, ages, and energy levels! I also currently live with a cat and have experience with cats as well. I am currently a medical student in Spartanburg and have time prior to class, during lunch, and in the afternoon/evenings to stop by and hang out with your pets! I also have the weekends off and my schedule varies every day with flexibility to meet the needs of your fur babies. I can guarantee I will do my best to meet the needs of you and your pet in the best way possible! My dog is super friendly and is great on leashed walks with other dogs and is great to play off leash in the dog park at my apartment. I also have support at home to be able to leave him with friends while I am at your house to watch your pets and do not need to have him with me at all times!

“Natili was wonderful. She shared pics and texted me to keep me updated on Bailey. Bailey did escape the yard at one point and Natili drove around the neighborhood to find her. Her dedication to caring for Bailey was above and beyond!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Lakewood Park on Rover is $51.73 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 534 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Lakewood Park. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lakewood Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lakewood Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lakewood Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lakewood Park. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
