“My German Shepherd Dog just doesn't take to strangers very well....in fact, she can scare them off if they don't understand dogs. Not so with Alex. One meeting and they're buds. On our second meeting, Phoebe ran to him like an old friend. To be able to have a sitter/walker who really understands dogs, especially the more sensitive ones, is a lifesaver for me and for Phoebe. Also, Phoebe is powerful when she wants to be and Alex is more than capable of handling her. We are so glad for Rover and for Alex.”

“Julia was great! She dropped in daily and made sure my kitty had her food and meds, water, clean litterbox and loves and treats! She always responded to me in a quick and timely fashion and took the anxiety away! Definitely would recommend!”

“My Isla is not an easy kitty but knowing Kathleen would visit her gave me a serious piece of mind. Kathleen took the cutest photos, played with her, and sent me detailed notes after each visit. Finding someone you trust is hard. I'm so glad I found her and would recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter.”

“Shelby was wonderful! She was always prompt and always left photos after she visited my girl. She was extremely reliable and I will definitely trust her to watch my girl again!”

“Stephanie has been doing walk ins with my Boxer puppy and my Belgian Shepherd for a couple of months now - 3 days a week. She has gone above and beyond to make their experience positive - buying them a special toy to play with while she is there, picking up puppy wipes, bringing treats, quick to respond to me via text, respectful of my home, and being flexible with her schedule. My dogs are thrilled when she arrives and Stephanie has given me peace of mind when I am at work knowing the puppy is getting her time out of the crate that I am otherwise unable to provide her. Stephanie was not my first sitter on Rover, and she was brought in to cover a transition between sitters. I was thrilled to have her continue on once I realized how reliable and thoughtful she is.”

“Great drop in from Marcus as always. He is always available, responds quickly, arrives when he says he will, and always sends back great reports with lots of pictures. Thank you Marcus!”

“Taylor was an excellent dog walker! She was quick to respond to booking requests and messages, and her very flexible availability was perfect for our needs. Felt comfortable leaving our pups in her capable and trustworthy hands. Her rover recaps and photos always made us smile and laugh! Would love to book her again for future dog sitting and walking needs. Highly recommend ☺️”

“Always kind and loving care from Acoua. Very comfortable whit Acoya coming into the home for drop in visits. The pics and notes from her after the visit is so reassuring…. Highly recommended. Never an issue always on time !”

“Isabella did some drop in visits this weekend and was really flexible and accommodating with our last minute changes of plan. Very responsive to communications also. We came home to the house tidy and happy pups. Thank you, Isabella!”

“Heather was fantastic! She sent updates every day and took great care of our kitties. She even found one of our cats after he hopped the fence (twice!). We will be hiring Heather again in the future.”

“Ricky was wonderful. He loved on both my kitties. Was on time. Followed all the directions that I had given. He made sure they were taken care of. Kept everything clean. I was very happy with his care of my 2 kitties. I will use him again for sure.”

“Wonderful!! Absolutely wonderful. My cat loved Carol, and I can see why. She took wonderful care of him, gave me updates, and overall made it so much easier knowing that he was in good hands. Will 100% be using Carol again!”

About: I've taken care of animals since I was a child. My family owned cats, dogs, chickens, goats and a lama and I actively participated in caring for all of these animals. I am currently working part time and have some extra availability during the regular business week. I prefer to work in the mornings but am available and willing to meet any schedule requirements. As a pet care professional, being trustworthy and ensuring safety are top priorities when entering a client’s home. Clients are placing their confidence in me not only to care for their beloved animals, but also to respect their personal space and privacy. I approach each visit with professionalism, honesty, and a strong sense of responsibility. I follow all instructions carefully, maintain clear communication, and treat every home with the utmost respect—locking doors, tidying up after myself, and safeguarding keys and alarm codes. My goal is to build lasting trust through reliability, integrity, and compassionate care for both pets and their environment.

“Galadriel was prompt at arriving at the time we arranged, which was key since one of our cats is diabetic and needed insulin. The cats liked having Galadriel arrive, I saw on my front door camera that they were waiting at the front door so they could get their pets”

“Lesley was very patient with my stubborn puppy. She took her time on the check in trying to get my anxious Honey comfortable. She showed up on time and stayed for the full 30mins. I would choose her again to care for my puppy!”

About: I have lived with dogs all my life and have experience with all types of breeds and dog personalities. Last summer, I housesat four dogs for three weeks and after that I feel I can handle anything. I adopted my dog, Harvey, five years ago. He's a sweet tempered dachshund, but he's got a tendency to wander like most hounds so I'm especially good with the escape artist dog as I know their tactics first hand. As a dog owner, I promise to give your dog the love and attention that I would give to my own.

“Taylor is a phenomenal sitter and really gave me so much detail about my dog the entire time I was away. My dog was on meds and Taylor double checked to ensure the proper amounts were to be given. She’s very thorough and genuinely connected with my dog. She also provided me regular updates and photos. Definitely book Taylor!”

About: I've been around pets all my life, wether it be frogs, fish, cats, or dogs. I've had lots of experience with cats and dogs! I currently have 2 cats, so daily care is engraved into my memory. I love going on long walks with dogs, and playing for hours with cats! I can administer oral medication for both cats and dogs. Having 2 cats, daily care is a must for me. I clean their litter box at least once a day. They both demand to be brushed at least once or twice a day, not to mention they want to be played with and pet, so my schedule just about revolves around my 2 cats. I prefer to take care of pets in the client's home for many reasons. First and foremost is the animal's comfort, keeping them in a comfortable space and environment will help keep everyone calm. Second of all, this helps me see how the animal interacts with its surroundings, what are its habits, etc. Third, I don't have space to house more pets where I currently live, even if I did, my cats wouldn't be too pleased with another pet joining them in their living space.

“There are simply people in this world that you meet, and know instantly that they are animal lovers, and Kelsie is the epitome of that. She is caring, fun, and most importantly, very engaged as a dog sitter. My dog is a bit hyperactive, can be particular about things, and I knew Kelsie would fit her every need. I loved getting pictures of her sweet baby & family loving on my pup. I can't recommend Kelsie enough!”

“I've known Julie for over 10 years now, and one thing that's been clear from the beginning is how much she loves dogs. As Julie's roommate, I've witnessed first-hand how responsible and loving she is, not only with her dog, but with all dogs. She won't disappoint! ”

Jett B.
“I have known Jett all his life and he is a compassionate lover of all animals! He has had his own dog for a short time when he was younger that mostly stayed with his Grandpa. He has also had his own cat Cheshire since he was 13-years old and even at that young age was taking great care of her. He has always shown her love and does not have an authoritarian protocol for guidance. He is more a lover and re-directs Cheshire's attention to something else to avoid whatever she might have been getting into. That all just came naturally to Jett, which I thought was wonderful. He also plays with her whenever she starts to get "frisky". That's Jett's signal to get one of her favorite toys he gets for her, like her favorite "Flying Feather" and she will do the most amazing acrobatics in the air just to try and catch that thing!!! It is amazing! Jett has also been around several other animals at the same time, all at once, it doesn't seem to overwhelm him, he just seems to get giddy inside and enjoys the ride, so to speak. When certain animals do become over-demanding and, let's say, a larger dog starts jumping up on Jett, he does try to calm the dog down and repeatedly asks the dog to sit. Or asks the owner beforehand if the dog has been through schooling or has been trained with specific commands and then will use those exact commands to settle the dog down for no more jumping up on Jett, or anyone else, or on anything that the dog isn't supposed to be jumping on. He has dog-sat several times before when his friends have gone out of town on vacation and stayed at their place for several days. That seemed to work out just fine, all parties were happy at the end of the vacation. Cheshire missed his dad, but Jett has a good network of loving people in his life that made sure that she had someone checking in on her while she was without Jett. There were times when Jett had the opportunity to go home and cuddle Cheshire for an hour or two so both of them felt the love they were missing. Cheshire also currently has an adopted brother, Oscar, so they keep each other company. They have a bubbling water fountain that is continuously running for them along with a scheduled timed feeder as well. Jett took training in High school to become an EMT, so he does have a varied medical experience background with humans as well as animals. He has a great friend that works in an animal hospital in Portland who has taught Jett how to administer shots and how to correctly give animals solutions like antibiotics down the throat, which I know cats and some dogs hate, and other wonderful things. Jett is a responsible pet caregiver, if he stays overnight, he always makes sure that the house he stays at is the way he finds it when the pet owner comes home, and not a mess. He also is able to do walks and drop-ins if needed. I hope you like Jett as much as I do!”
Vancouver dog parents share their Rover experiences
Acoya is absolutely amazing! She took such wonderful care of my dog, Oreo, over the weekend. From the start, she was super reliable, communicative, and caring. She sent me updates and photos that gave me total peace of mind, and I could tell Oreo was having the best time with her. 🫶🏻🥹 I’m so grateful to have found someone as kind and trustworthy as Acoya. She treated Oreo like her own and went above and beyond. I’ll definitely be booking with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter who truly loves dogs. 🐶❤️

Autumn did a terrific job taking care of my pets. I have four very different animals: 2 cats, a gecko, and an axolotl. She came precisely at the times scheduled, and my cats were happy and content when I came home. I hope Autumn is available next time I go out of town, as I would like her to look after my pets again.

I will be booking Jody for all future pet sitting! I have a dog and two cats, and one of my cats has never come out when someone has been pet sitting. But she came out for Jody every single time, which says a lot. She was great about responding to any questions and I seriously felt so much better knowing she was caring for our pets. She’s wonderful!

Roree came by and checked on our dog, Stitch, while we were away. She had to give him meds 3x per day and she did it like a champ. When we came home, Stitch didn't seem anxious even though we were gone for over a week. We adored Roree's attention to detail and will be booking again with her.
