About: I have taken care of dogs for the past 8 years. I have walked dogs, groomed them, and fed them. I have taught some basic commands. I love to go on adventures with dogs and allow them to explore to their hearts content as long as it’s safe for them. I am currently going to grad school to become a therapist. I have availability from 7am to 4pm, and some nights from 8:30 pm to 10pm. I can work Monday to Saturday. I have a safe home that is a 8 minute walk from a dog park. I like rules and structure and making sure that I am following them to whatever works best for your pet and home. I like to ask questions so that I am prepared to the best of my ability for your pet.
“I hired AnnMarie for an overnight sitting job. My dog is quite anxious and it takes her while to trust people. AnnMarie was able to deal with her issues and they both spent a comfortable night together. AnnMarie was great in accepting my dog's idiosyncracies for which I am very grateful. She also communicated well to put me at ease. I highly recommend AnnMarie and plan to hire her again.”

About: I provide dependable care with lots of attention, structure and communication so you never have to wonder if your fur baby is in the right hands. I work from home 5 days a week so whether your dog loves long walks, endless fetch sessions or simply some playtime and cuddles i am always available. I used to volunteer regularly at my local animal shelter and because of that I'm comfortable following detailed care instructions, maintaining routines, administering basic medications and caring for pets with different energy levels and temperaments.
“Katrina had a wonderful bond with Roxie. Roxie looked fabulous when we got home. She took such great care of Roxie and sent me pictures along with updates on how Roxie was doing while I was away. Since Katrina stayed at the house she also kept the house in pristine condition. I would definitely use Katrina again as she’s a great sitter and very trustworthy.”

“I am happy Kenya was able to be with my pups. We have had Kenya sit for a few over nights and each time she has been very communicative, sends picture updates and is on time. We will definitely ask her to stay with our home and pups again!”

“Michael regularly walks our dogs for us when we cannot be home to do so ourselves, and has always been quite reliable and communicative. This was the first time he has house/dog sat for us, and we were not disappointed. Michael is a very thorough communicator, and takes copious notes, to make sure he knows exactly what is expected and where things are. He did a wonderful job of sending updates throughout his stay, so we always knew our dogs were safe and well cared for. We had to have a second sitter come in during the middle of his stay, when Michael had a previous commitment. (All arranged in advance) He handled the transition very well and kept us informed of all the details of the hand off, and his return. We'd definitely use him again.”

About: Dogs have been an important part of my life since I got a Border Collie at age 10. Even before then I would look forward to taking care of neighbor's pets to save money to buy a dog. Ever since I got my first cat 10+ years ago they have also become an essential part of my life. My love of animals ensures that your pet will get all the love and attention they need when in my care I have a flexible work and childcare schedule so I can adapt to meet your needs regardless of the situation. I can make time in my weekday schedule for routine check in or be available for a weekend vacation I have a car and flexible schedule and can come to your house whenever is needed. I can exercise your pet, clean their poop, feed, and love them
“Garret has sat for us before and we would absolutely use his services again! Garret took great care of our cat, dog, and home while we were traveling. Provided updates and pictures throughout his the stay. He is super easy going, great with our animals, and a trustworthy house sitter. I would recommend Garret to anyone!”

About: We (Jerry and Joy) have been known for taking care of our friends’ dogs as if they are our own. From few hours to 5 weeks, dogs of different sizes have been under our care which had led to many of our friends recommending us to start Rover. Jerry is a runner and recreational tennis player, he feels confident providing the best physical care for the puppies — going out on runs and doing indoor tugging activities. Joy likes staying at home more, and she will always be looking out to see if the puppies are comfortable and pouring them with love. Also, be prepared to get showered with tons of pics and stories of how your puppies spent their time during their stay, we will send you as many as we can take! Our dog-friendly place in a very cozy community in Livermore will be a safe, quiet heaven for your puppies — with a spacious park nearby, including a fenced dog park, where puppies can enjoy running while on/off leash (I prefer not doing off-leash when outside unless it's fenced yard or dog park). As a dedicated dog lover with a full-time job (weekdays, 6 am to 4 PM but can come home for lunch around 11 am), I’ve structured my schedule to ensure your furry friend gets the best care possible. Also, Joy would spend her most of time at home with your puppy. Here’s what you can expect: - Reliable Availability: We plan potty breaks at least three times a day—typically around 7-8 AM, 12 PM-2 PM, and 10-11 PM—so your pup’s needs are always met. - Plenty of Companionship: Your dog will have company for most of the day, with alone time never exceeding 8 hours. - Daily Exercise: We take multiple short walks every day, giving your pup fresh air and a chance to stretch their legs. - Flexible Coordination: We are happy to work with you to ensure your dog’s care schedule fits seamlessly with mine. - Personalized Attention: Every pup in our care receives love, attention, and care tailored to their specific needs. Rest assured, your four-legged family member will be in loving and responsible hands while you’re away! We live in a dog-friendly condo in a safe and welcoming residential area of Livermore. Our home is located right next to a fully fenced dog park, where your pup can safely sniff, run around, and socialize with other friendly dogs. This ensures they get plenty of exercise and mental stimulation during their stay. For added peace of mind, we have a reliable car and am prepared to transport your pet to the nearest veterinary urgent care if needed. Our 3-story code is clean, secure, and designed with pets in mind, offering a comfortable environment where your furry friend will feel right at home. Whether it’s playtime at the park or cozy downtime indoors, your dog will be cared for in a safe, enriching environment that prioritizes their happiness and well-being.

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life, so caring for them comes naturally to me. I’ve also dog sat for friends and family multiple times, giving me real experience with different personalities, routines, and needs. I focus on keeping dogs comfortable, safe, and happy while their owners are away. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine by planning specific times for feeding, walks, and bathroom breaks, while also checking in throughout the day to make sure the dog is comfortable, safe, and getting enough attention. I would care for your dog in your home by monitoring bathroom breaks, providing regular walks, feeding them on schedule, and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for.

“London was fantastic! She took amazing care of our dog, and two cats as well as the house! She is communicative, quick to respond, sent photos and updates and we came home after a week away to 3 happy pets and a clean and safe home! I would 10000% recommend London to anyone, and will be using her again in the future! Thank you for taking such amazing care of our pets!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Ulmar
Tina and Yaritza were a dynamic duo in helping take care of our little zoo at home - fish, kitties and our very spoiled dog. They are both very gentle and calm with the animals. We got pictures and updates during the weekend and came home to happy animals and a clean house. We will be booking with Tina again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Ulmar walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Ulmar maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ulmar choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ulmar. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
