“Carrie was wonderful with my one year-old Maltese dog. She made sure my dog was well taken care of . Carrie stayed at our house for one week while we were on vacation and was very responsible.”

About: I have owned and taken care of pets for many years. I currently have a dog that I personally take care of. I feed her, walk her, bathe her, take her outside, play with her, etc. I am an animal lover and I really enjoy taking care of all types of pets. It is a responsibility I take very serious when I am caring for someone’s fur baby and I look forward to every booking I get. I care deeply for animals and cater to their specific needs. Pets require lots of care and I am willing to do whatever they need.
“Byrnnye was an excellent dog sitter and left our home immaculately clean, we appreciated her very much. She was very responsive in getting back to us with texts that kept us informed of our dog's wellbeing.”

“Kaila recently house sat for us, taking care of our young energetic dog and two middle aged cranky cats. She did a wonderful job! We got regular updates and photos about all the pets, so we never had to worry or wonder. The most telling thing for us was how much more relaxed all three of our pets were when we got home. Usually when we come back from vacation, there is an adjustment period as they destress; that didn’t happen at all this time! They were happy to see us but seemed so relaxed and well cared for. We could not have asked for a better experience!”

About: I have several years of hands-on pet care experience through neighborhood pet sitting and caring for family and friends’ animals. My experience includes feeding, basic care routines, supervision, walks for dogs, and maintaining clean, safe environments for all types of pets. I’m attentive to each animal’s specific needs and always follow owner instructions closely to keep routines consistent and stress-free. While most of my experience is with dogs, I am confident handling a variety of cats and dogs and providing calm, reliable care. I also provide regular photo updates so you can feel reassured while you’re away. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide attentive and consistent pet care throughout the week. I don’t have an outside job, which gives me time to focus on walks, check-ins, and maintaining each pet’s normal routine. At the same time, I do have a regular personal routine that includes helping care for my mom’s dogs, assisting my fiancé with work, and planning my upcoming wedding. Because of this, I keep my schedule structured and communicate clearly so pet owners always know what to expect. I’m able to accommodate a variety of bookings, especially weekday care and house sitting, while making sure each pet still receives reliable attention and care. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow all instructions closely to keep pets safe and comfortable in their normal routine. I pay attention to leash safety, secure doors and gates, and make sure pets are always supervised during care. I respect each home by keeping things clean and leaving it as I found it. I also provide clear communication and regular photo updates so owners stay informed and confident while they’re away.
“We are so pleased with the care our dogs received during their two night in home stay. Tiana was warm, professional, and kept us well-informed with regular communication and photos throughout. It was clear our dogs felt completely at ease, they were relaxed, content, and showing all the signs of a happy, stress free stay. We would not hesitate to book again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for attentive, loving care for their pets.”

“Wonderful experience. Elysa took great care of our home and our fur babies. She went above and beyond expectations and we will definitely use her in the future if the need arises again.”
“Emily is amazing! Shes a great communicator and took good care of Pretzel and Coco. They both loved her! She made sure that pretzel wasn’t licking his stitches and gave him his medication on time. She’s followed introductions and went above in beyond for pretzels care. Thank you Emily! 😊”

“My fiancée and I enjoyed another awesome getaway weekend thanks to Bella's reliable services. The pups have quickly become admirers of hers, and spent the weekend power-lounging and getting spoiled by her. She stayed in touch with us and sent plenty of cute pics. I would highly recommend her to anyone, and am looking forward to working with her again soon.”

I love animals and have a dog of my own and would love to make this a full time job. I would love to make long term clients I will give your animals all the love and attention they need accordingly to their own traits and personalities. I make sure to give them play time and potty breaks and that they eat good.
“I really Like and Trust Marci. She listened to me and walked my dogs the way I suggested and sent me pictures of the dogs on the walk. She asked me all the right questions and the dogs really liked her, This was the first time I used Rover.com and I would highly recommend Marci to watch and walk your dogs as well.”

“This is our second time working with Diana and we can’t recommend her enough. Our old dogs can be pretty high maintenance, but she does a great job caring for them when we’re away. Thank you!”

“We are really excited to have found Daniella. She is very reliable and competent. She did everything we needed plus some. She took care of our 3 dogs and our horse. She sent us lots of pictures and updates. Our dogs are my babies and it makes me anxious to leave them but I could tell in the pictures they were enjoying themselves and happy so I could relax and enjoy myself. We will definitely use Daniella again.”

About: I've had dogs my entire life so I have experience with dogs of all ages. I currently have a dog and two cats, and I'm also trusted in my neighborhood and amongst family and friends as someone to watch their animals when they're gone. Im a full time college student but I usually always have my own animals in my bedroom with me, sitting under (or on top of) my desk while I work. I have a friendly dog who absolutely loves play dates, so your dog would never get bored. My backyard is quite large so the dogs have tons of room to run around and play. The fences are regularly checked for holes under them to ensure our dog can't get out. I also have two large cat cages in my home where each of my cats sleep, but if needed, they can sleep in the same cage and the other one can be used to provide your pet some privacy, with their own food and water dishes. I have many many many interactive cat toys so even while i'm working, they can play with the toys that are attached to my desk and walls, along with scratching posts.

About: I’ve cared for dogs of all ages and personalities and truly love spending time with animals. I’m a patient, dependable, and attentive caregiver who treats every pet like family. My dogs have always been a huge part of my life, including my sweet RayRay, who taught me so much about patience, love, and the special bond we share with our pets. I recently adopted my French Bulldog, Ichabod (“Iggy”), and I’m continuing to learn and understand each dog’s unique needs. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, medication (if needed), or lots of love and attention, I’ll make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. I know how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member, and I’ll care for them as if they were my own. I love being able to include pets in my daily routine. I plan my schedule around making sure they get the care, attention, and love they need. Whether it’s walks, playtime, meals, or just keeping them company, I enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe and comfortable while their family is away. Creating a safe and comfortable space for pets is very important to me. I know how much trust it takes to leave someone with your furry family member, and I take that responsibility seriously. I pay attention to the little things — their habits, boundaries, and what helps them feel relaxed. About: Welcome to Paws on Puente! 🐾 We’re so happy you’re here! Paws on Puente is a fully licensed, premium home-based dog daycare and boarding experience in Mountain House, CA. Unlike large kennel facilities, we thoughtfully manage our pack by carefully evaluating each dog’s size, age, energy level, and temperament. This allows us to create safe, well-balanced playgroups while ensuring every pup receives plenty of personalized attention, supervised play, and love. My name is Cher, and I’m an experienced dog mom who truly loves caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. I have three grown children (our youngest is graduating college soon!) and three fur babies ranging from a playful puppy to a super senior. If you ask anyone who knows me, they’ll tell you I’m the “crazy dog mom”—our dogs are family, and they even come along on our vacations! My husband, Gil, and I treat every guest as if they were our own because we know you’re trusting us with one of the most important members of your family. Our goal is to provide every pup with a safe, fun, and loving home away from home. About Us Gil and I have spent years caring for dogs of many different breeds, temperaments, and life stages—from energetic puppies to senior dogs needing a little extra TLC. We’re both working professionals, with at least one of us working from home every weekday, so your pup will receive plenty of supervision, companionship, and attention throughout the day. Outside of work, we love spending time with our dogs by going on walks, hikes, kayaking adventures, and exploring together. We also enjoy giving back to our community. I previously served on Mountain House’s Youth Competitive Sports Board of Directors, and Gil founded the community’s first competitive youth Track & Field program. Now that our children are grown, we’ve shifted that passion into fostering dogs for local shelters and providing exceptional care for our boarding guests. Our Pet Care Philosophy We believe exceptional care starts with great communication. Before your dog’s stay, we’re happy to schedule an introductory phone call or communicate through Rover to learn about your pup’s personality, daily routine, medical needs, favorite activities, and any special preferences. Every dog is introduced slowly and individually to ensure they’re comfortable and compatible with the rest of the pack. During busy seasons and holidays, we prioritize crate-trained dogs because it allows us to safely manage feeding times, rest periods, and overnight routines. We provide sanitized crates and comfortable beds in multiple sizes. If your dog typically sleeps outside of a crate, we can accommodate one non-crated overnight guest at a time with a customized sleeping arrangement. Our home is thoughtfully designed with gated areas that allow us to separate dogs by size, age, energy level, and temperament when needed, ensuring every guest feels safe, relaxed, and successful during their stay. Your Dog’s Stay Your pup will enjoy supervised indoor and outdoor access throughout the day using our doggy door, along with our fully fenced backyard featuring: • Large shaded gazebo for sunny or rainy days • Two spacious decks for relaxing and sunbathing • Artificial turf and a sand play area for zoomies and enrichment Our goal is to provide a clean, safe, structured, and loving environment where every stay feels like a fun vacation with friends. Last-minute bookings are welcome whenever availability allows. We’re conveniently located along routes to and from the Bay Area, Tahoe, Southern California, and Yosemite — perfect for quick drop-offs before your getaway! We also offer video calls or in-person meet & greets before booking to ensure a great fit and to learn how we can best personalize your pup’s stay. Long-term stay discounts are available.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Mountain House
This was the first time "Benson" had spent the night away from us in 10yrs. I was nervous and worried, but Carrie did everything to make us comfortable as well as Benson. With Benson being blind, she followed our program and did everything that Benson needed! We'd like to give a big thanks to Carrie, and Rover. If we ever need help again, we know where to find it! Thank you again Carrie! We appreciate you, your time, and your help!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Mountain House on Rover is $50 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 2,896 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Mountain House. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Mountain House walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Mountain House maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Mountain House choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Mountain House. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
