“Elysa was amazing, Again!! I had a work issue and I had to submit a last minute, same day booking. Elysa, thankfully accepted and was there to care for my little Gremlins! Elysa doesn't just show up, feed them and leave. She cares for them, spends time, plays and gives them love. I am so grateful for Elysa. Thank you for caring for my little ones!!”

“Reina was great! Very responsive starting from when I first requested a dog sitter. Was on time sent us plenty of pictures of our pup during her stay. When we came home our dog was very happy!”

About: Since I was a little girl, I have always had a ♥ for animals. I've cared for dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, ducks, chickens, rabbits, and a mini pig. A plus for me is that I have been a foster for Animal Rescue of Tracy for 10+ years now, so I have experience with all sorts of dogs and cats, from those who need special medication to rambunctious dogs to newborn kittens. There is no animal you can give me that I will not love, pet, cuddle, and care for. 🌷 I am a responsible 25 year old who has been caring for animals my whole life. This is my first Rover account, but I have been pet sitting in the Tracy community for 10 years. I live on 1.5 acres with 25 + animals, so I am very experienced and would love to help out with your furry friends! :) I'm currently working part-time with the majority of my work being remote so I will have plenty of time to care for your pets! 🏡 I live on 1.5 acres of property so your dogs will have plenty of space to run around, play, and relieve themselves. Depending on your dog's friendliness, they can remain inside with my two small dogs, or I can keep them in our supervised dog run area just for them. If you have cats, they will be contained in their own area in my house so that they do not run and hide, as new environments tend to cause anxiety. 🏠 If house sitting, I make the animals feel as comfortable as possible to ease any stress of their owners being away. Pets & play are always guaranteed. I also send pictures everyday & when asked! ⭐ My routine is simple: follow your directions on feeding, walking, medication if needed, and I will handle the other most important part: giving them lots of love!

About: I have spent a lot of time pet sitting family dogs, including powerful breeds like Pitbulls, Belgian Malinois, and German Shepherds. This hands-on experience taught me exactly how important structure and leash training are for a safe environment. Being a shorter person, I prefer to specialize in walking small dogs, medium dogs, or larger dogs who are already trained on the leash and calm when seeing others. Although I do have experience walking dogs who pull or get too excited, I want to ensure safety for your pet, myself, and others around me. However, if your larger pup is still working on their leash manners, I am more than happy to care for them entirely at home, focusing on indoor playtime, backyard fun, and tons of love! I am also a cat mom of 4 and love all types of cats. I currently have a flexible schedule. Whether your pup or kitten needs a last-minute check-in, a mid-day walk or your pet requires strict, timely medication schedules, I am around to help. When I am in your home, safety and respect for your space are my priorities. I treat your home with care, ensuring doors are securely locked, gates are latched, and your home is left exactly as I found it. I can follow strict instructions to ensure that your pet’s needs are met. I also love sending quick photo updates with every visit, so you have total peace of mind knowing your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for.
“We are so pleased with the care our dogs received during their two night in home stay. Tiana was warm, professional, and kept us well-informed with regular communication and photos throughout. It was clear our dogs felt completely at ease, they were relaxed, content, and showing all the signs of a happy, stress free stay. We would not hesitate to book again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for attentive, loving care for their pets.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was very little. I’ve always had dogs in my household. I currently have 3 right now and although it’s a lot of work, I want a 4th! I worked with pup walks for a while and also volunteer at the Dublin animal shelter so I am very experienced with all sizes of dogs. A few of my friends have cats and they are absolutely amazing and very easy to handle. I am comfortable walking, bathing, feeding, and sitting your fur baby! I currently work part time in Livermore so I’m looking for something else to just keep be a little bit more busy during the week/weekends. I’ll play with your fur baby in the yard or home, take them for a walk- whichever you prefer. Feed them and give them water, let them relax or crate them - whichever you prefer.

“Graciela did a wonderful job house sitting and watching our two dogs! We highly suggest her and will continue to use her for upcoming out of town trips! She even provided photos of our dogs during her stay!”

About: I’ve been caring for pets for many years, starting with my own family dog and my cat, who I’ve cared for since 2013. Since 2020, I’ve also provided house sitting and dog sitting for friends and family. I know every pet has their own personality and routine, so I take the time to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I’m reliable, patient, and attentive to detail, and I always follow care instructions closely. Whether it’s walks, feeding, playtime, or companionship, I’ll treat your pet like they’re part of my own family. I also provide regular photo and message updates so you can have peace of mind while you’re away! Pet care fits well into my weekly routine. I work as a gymnastics coach three days a week from 4–7 PM, which gives me flexibility during the day and on my days off to provide walks, drop-in visits, house sitting, and quality time with pets. I make sure every pet receives the attention, exercise, and care they need while keeping their routine as consistent as possible. I always prioritize each pet’s safety, comfort, and routine. In a client’s home, I carefully follow all care instructions, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications (if needed), and any house rules. I make sure pets have fresh water, plenty of attention, and a clean, safe environment. During walks, I keep dogs securely leashed and pay close attention to their surroundings. I also provide regular photo and message updates so owners know their pets are happy and well cared for while they’re away.
“We are so happy with how Maci cared for our pets. We don’t get many chances to go out of town due to our German shepherd having severe separation anxiety. She took the time to meet them and ask questions and before staying in our home. For the first time my anxious dog was calm when we were leaving, he even seemed a bit happy. His whole demeanor was at ease which made our trip more enjoyable knowing our pets were in good hands.”

My fiancée and I enjoyed another awesome getaway weekend thanks to Bella's reliable services. The pups have quickly become admirers of hers, and spent the weekend power-lounging and getting spoiled by her. She stayed in touch with us and sent plenty of cute pics. Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Tracy on Rover is $55.24 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 1,337 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Tracy. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Tracy walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Tracy maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Tracy choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Tracy. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
