“Brilliant! Thank you so much, kept me updated on Barney every day with pictures and videos, really went out your way for Barney and made him feel so at home! I will definitely rebooking in the near future! Thankyou to you & your family for everything you have done :)”

“Keith and Michelle were absolutely wonderful with my dog, Maya. They are kind, caring, and clearly love what they do. Maya enjoyed plenty of long walks and came home happy and relaxed. I couldn’t ask for better people to look after her — highly recommended!”

“Joan, Was friendly, professional and quick to reply to any enquiries. She provided regular updates and photos of her coastal walks with my dog Bert. I would recommend Joan to anybody - 5 stars!”

“Ross looked after my Jackapoo Enzo for a night last weekend, Enzo can be quite choosy as to who he gets to like but immediately took to Ross who clearly has a great way with dogs. I was struck by Ross’s preparation involving a questionnaire about Enzo and his likes and dislikes. Ross will be my go to person when Enzo needs to be cared for in the future.”

“It was the first time we had used a dog sitter. Felt reassured after meeting Nathan before the booking. Just picked Bleu up and he was a happy contented dog and I’m sure if he could talk he would only say nice things. Will be using Nathan again”

“Morgan was great with Daisy and really put my mind at ease. Morgan was happy to do a meet and greet first before I confirmed and booked, she asked lots of questions and was happy to answer mine. I got an update whilst Daisy was with her which was nice as I knew Daisy was relaxed. Daisy seemed to enjoy her stay and I will definitely be using Morgan again for some future dates.”

“Absolutely fantastic!!! Maisie & Cooper stayed with Trudy whilst we went for a night away in London and they were more than taken care of! Amazing long walks in the fields & forest and a lovely garden for them to roam until their hearts are content! Updated with pics regularly too! Thank you! Will be using Trudy often! 😅”

“This was Gwens first time away from the family and we were worried as she's quite a sensitive dog. Alex was amazing with her, she gave us regular updates and Gwen thoroughly enjoyed her stay. Lots of lovely walks and lots of playing ball. We have no hesitation in using Alex again and thoroughly recommend her. Thanks again Alex and family”

“Sandie looked after our Labrador Luna for 2 weeks and she couldn’t have been in better hands. Luna was treated as part of the family and she had a great time with Sandie and the other dogs. She may even have come back slightly better behaved! Luna was still recovering from an op and Sandie took great care of her so we were able to relax and not worry about Luna.”

About: With over 20 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs, cats, and a wide variety of animals, I bring a lifelong dedication to animal welfare and wellbeing. I spent 10 years living and working on a farm with boarding kennels, where I was deeply involved in the daily care, feeding, exercise, and monitoring of animals in both home and professional settings. My passion for animals has been a constant throughout my life, reflected not only in my work but also in always having my own cats and dogs. I am confident, compassionate, and attentive to the individual needs of each animal, ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for at all times. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I am around all day, which allows me to make sure pets always have access to fresh food and water. I regularly provide walks, playtime, and attention to keep them active and happy, while also monitoring their overall wellbeing. If medication is needed, I can administer it on schedule, and I am comfortable maintaining any training routines to encourage good behavior and consistency. Overall, I make pet care a priority by ensuring pets are safe, comfortable, exercised, and well cared for throughout the day. I provide a safe, trustworthy, and caring environment where pets can feel comfortable and secure while in my care. I have a good-sized fenced garden for outdoor time and exercise, with woods just behind my home as well as plenty of nearby fields and coastal walks that are perfect for dogs who enjoy exploring and staying active. I understand how important it is for owners to feel confident leaving their pets with someone reliable, and I always aim to give pets the same attention and care they would receive at home. I am also happy to come to your home if preferred, helping pets stay relaxed in a familiar environment and maintain their normal routine.
“Freddie had another great stay with Sue. She makes life very easy with her prompt communication and willingness to care for Freddie so well. He enjoyed his walks and I appreciated the updates too. We know he is in good hands when he stays with Sue.”

“A big thank you to Ruth and her family for looking after Cash at the weekend, it was lovely to receive photos of cash on his walks with Ruth and it was nice to see him treated as part of their family. We will definitely be better going back to Ruth and family again 😊🐾😊”

“I highly recommend Sarah, she and her husband Matthew looked after Teddy extremely well. Sarah updated me with photos and messages. Early drop off wasn't a problem at all. Teddy had wonderful time, lots of walks and cuddles. Will be booking Sarah again for next holiday. Thank you xx”

“We had never left Matilda with non-family before so were worried but we had a lovely meet with Patri before our booking date and this really put our minds at rest and we knew that Matilda would be well looked after and we had nothing to worry about. Patri asked all the right questions to ensure she gave Tilda the best care. When we left her she was not at all bothered and Patri sent us photos to show she practically went straight to sleep :) Thank you Patri, we certainly enjoyed our event more not worrying about Tilda and knowing she was in good hands,”

“It was a perfect 1st stay away from home. Millie was made very welcome and Aga helped her to settle and maintained her routine. Aga couldn't have been more accommodating or caring and her updates with regular photos showing Millie happy and enjoying herself were very reassuring. A great dog minder that I will use again and would be happy to recommend.”

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Weymouth
From the start I felt completely comfortable leaving Cashew with Keith. He was unfazed by Cashew's speedy nature and asked all the right questions about looking after him during his stay. I received some lovely photos showing a very relaxed dog. I would not hesitate to recommend Keith and I am sure I will be requesting to book Cashew with him again.

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
