About: My wife, Pisamai and myself have always had a dog until our beloved Dalmatian, Lexi died last year. We miss her so much, but travel a lot, so thought looking after other people's dogs might fill the void! My wife, Pisamai and myself are retired, so unless we are traveling, we spend most of our time either walking, cycling, or at home in Weymouth. We live in Weymouth and have fully fenced garden. We live 10 minutes walk from a beach and numerous other walks, including the Dorset Coast path.

About: I have had dogs throughout my life and I currently have two, one elderly and one with health issues. I have experience with giving dogs medication as my dog needs medication daily. I have also had a litter of puppies that we brought up and trained so I have experience with puppy’s and training. I also walk my family’s dogs and I dog sit when ever needed. I love dogs and I interact really well with them, I’m always the dogs favourite:) I am currently available full time, so I am available everyday including weekends and I am very flexible on the times so I can do any times throughout the day. I care for my dogs and all dogs very well they always get extra love, care and attention. About: I have grown up around animals, having dogs for most of that time. I moved over from South Africa in 2020, bringing my wife, Savannah (who will occasionally join on the walks) and more importantly, two rescues with us. Our family has grown to include two Romanian rescues. One foster that ended up being an adoptee and the other is a fostered while he learns to be around people and adjusts to a new way of life before he moves onto his forever home (unless he just ends up staying forever). I understand the complexities of walking with dogs that don't come from traditional local backgrounds and require a different style of walk to make them feel safe and comfortable while out and about. I am always happy to adjust the walk to match the dog from a nice chilled walk around the block for the golden oldies to a brisk, enrichment-filled walk for the younger, more energetic hounds. Currently, I am taking an online dog first aid course and working my way through a Reactive Dog Training course, designed primarily for Romans but suitable for all dogs. With long-term plans on becoming a dog behaviourist to try help more people with anxious dogs. I currently work full-time with a 4-on-4 schedule for the ambulance service, so I will be marking my availability around those shifts. Some of those work days, I may have availability in the afternoons or late evenings in the summer. I have medical experience not only with the two-legged species but also with four-legged ones. Coming from a conservation background in South Africa has helped with this. I am a strong believer in force-free training and focus on rewarding good behaviour, which I find works amazingly with my four rescues who come with an unknown history and get very nervous around people. Out on walks, I try to utilise scent work and other forms of enrichment to make the walk more enjoyable and enriching for the dogs not only working the body but the brain.

About: Hello! My name is Maddie. I am 19 and have a genuine love for animals. I grew up surrounded by various animals, such as dogs, cats, hamsters, bunnies, guinea pigs and fish. I have grown up and trained my pup, who is a collie / springer and now have another dog who is a staffy / bulldog, and have always had an open heart to every animal. No job is too big or too small. I am always motivated for a challenge. I have taken care of my dogs since a young age. Taking them on walks, playing games of ball, feeding them well and of course never forgetting lots of cuddles. Currently I am studying a uni course at Weymouth college, whilst working. However, I would like to start dog sitting to get more experience with animals, to have a good opportunity to go into the army as a dog handler. I will make time for your pets, just like mine. If they are shy / nervous / excited / outgoing , they will all be treated with the same patience and love. Here are the 8 core pillars I use to ensure every walk or visit is a high-quality learning experience: • The "Continuous to Variable" Method: I use treats to "bank" good behavior. For new skills, I reward every success; once mastered, I switch to random "jackpot" rewards to keep your dog focused and motivated without needing a bribe every time. • The Three D’s of Mastery: I help dogs bulletproof their commands by gradually increasing Distance from the dog, the Duration of the task, and the level of Distraction in the environment. • The "Be a Tree" Policy: I never allow a dog to pull. If the lead goes taut, I stop completely until it slackens, teaching them that a loose lead is the only way to move forward. • Tiered Reward Systems: I use "Standard" kibble for easy tasks and "High-Value" treats (like chicken or cheese) for emergency recall or high-distraction situations. • Short, High-Intensity Bursts: Dogs learn best in 5–10 minute sessions. I keep training short and always finish on a "win" to keep their confidence and engagement high. • Positive Reinforcement Only: I focus entirely on rewarding desired behaviors. I never use aversive equipment like choke chains or prong collars. • The "Watch Me" Check-In: I train dogs to respond to a "Watch" cue, allowing me to regain their attention immediately if a squirrel or another dog appears nearby. • Capturing Calmness: Beyond active commands, I reward "Settle" behaviors. If a dog chooses to relax while we wait at a crossing, they receive a calm reward to reinforce a relaxed default state. I balance a professional part-time role in Dorchester with a disciplined morning routine of market analysis, which I typically conclude by 11:00 AM. This structure allows me to dedicate the vast majority of my day to taking dogs on high-energy adventures through the Dorset countryside. While my professional shifts can vary, I am consistently available all day Monday, Tuesday, and Sunday. I pride myself on reliability and clear communication, ensuring your dog's routine is never disrupted. My long-term goal is to transition into full-time animal care, so I treat every walk as a commitment to building a lasting bond with your pet. I ensure that every pet has their own dedicated personal space, including their own bed, food, and water to maintain an stress-free environment. Your dog will have easy access to a secure, fully fenced garden for play and relaxation. During our outings, I strictly limit my groups to a maximum of 4 dogs at any one time. I believe that maintaining total control is the key to a safe and enjoyable walk in the Dorset countryside. For dogs that are less social or require more focused attention, I also offer specialized solo walks. To provide a truly comprehensive service, I can also incorporate basic training during our walks and offer grooming services, such as baths and brushing, to keep your pet looking and feeling their best. I will eventually get the license to have dogs at my property if you would prefer that as well.

About: I have lots of experience with dogs - my own pets, and my family and friends pets. I love all dogs no matter their breed or behaviours. My own pets have had difficulties with separation anxiety, and being reactive with other dogs. I often care for a French bull dog who has issues with his back legs & spine who needs some additional attention. I am a kind, caring and friend person. I am currently working in social care supporting young adults, and am pleased to be able to offer dog walking services on a part time basis. I can be very flexible with times.
