“Alana was fantastic! She took great care of Vixen and kept me updated throughout. You can tell she genuinely loves animals and takes her walking duties seriously. Reliable, friendly, and attentive—highly recommended!”

About: I’ve been taking care of animals since I was 6 years old. I’ve had lots of different breeds of dogs in my life and love them all! Being a very patient and present person, dogs and cats seem to get used to me quickly. Working part time and on a freelance basis, I’ve got lots of time to look after pets! I’m very flexible and excited to meet new pets across the city. Unfortunately, where I live I’m not able to have a pet of my own as I don’t have any outside space, so Rover is a great way for me to get my animal fox, as well as helping out pet owners. As I mentioned before, I’m not able to have animals in my home, but I will ensure to be incredibly vigilant of any quirks/rules for your pet in your home.

“I would highly recommend Jackie for anyone who is looking for someone experienced, trust worthy and very accommodating. Jackie s response to our messages was very fast and always reassuring. As a bonus, I enjoyed the stunning scenery while getting to Jackie s place! Thank you Jackie :)”
“Tella can be timid and a little nervous around new people but she and Will became great friend very quickly. Probably because he had a lovely bed and loads of treats at the ready for her :)”

About: I am a huge animal lover and always have been. I had very understanding parents as a child so have experience of most domestic animals. I currently have my own little menagerie including a pony, two dogs, a cat and chickens. I have experience of all ages of dogs from very young puppies to dogs in their twilight years. I try to be as flexible as possible but do fit my Rover commitments in alongside teaching part time and caring for my own menagerie. I have recently moved to the Bridport area from London, where I previously walked dogs in my local area. I offer half hourly and hourly walks and have my own transport. In addition to dog walking I am able to offer a limited number of doggy day care slots and also drop in house visits/holiday cover for dogs, cats and smaller pets. I can feed, change litter trays and give lots of cuddles and playtime so your pet is happy and content whilst you are away. Prior to taking on a new client I like to offer a free meet & greet session so we can all get to know each other and I can have a detailed conversation with you about your pets requirements. If you have booked drop in visits I’ll ask you to show me where everything is that I will need to care for your pet when I visit.
“Trudy is the best dog sitter I’ve ever used! She took such good care of Logan, and kept me updated with lots of pictures and videos throughout the day. She has been so kind and flexible and I have already rebooked her for two more dates! Highly recommend!”

“Tianna has been fantastic and i feel very confident that Daisy is cared for exactly as i would hope. Tianna kept me updated with messages and pics which was really reassuring and i was completly comfortable that she could come and go respectfully in the house while i wasn't there. Really very happy indeed and i am pretty sure Daisy was too!”

“Highly recommended, our girls loved their day with Helen and her own two furbabies. Thank you again so much. They have had their dinner and instantly fallen asleep, bless them. Will definitely use again.”

“Our dog Rudy had the best day with Alexandra! We requested to book only the day before, Alexandra kindly accepted and helped us out with our urgent request and we couldn’t have been happier to find her. She was so professional, doing everything she could to ensure Rudy had a safe and happy stay with her, and providing loads of photos and info on the lovely country walk they went on. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her and will be using her for any future dog sitting needs.”

About: Iv lived with animals all my life, grew up on a farm and have a passion for working with all types of furry friends! I have also been lucky enough to train my dogs, either from a pup or once rescued from all Sorts of backgrounds. I work closely with local rescue centres and have fostered, rehabilitated and trained some very beautiful and loving pooches. I absolutely love dogs, and working from home means I can dedicate plenty of time, care, and attention to them throughout the day. I previously had a much-loved medium-sized dog who was truly part of the family, so I understand just how important it is to find someone you trust with your pet. Although she’s no longer with me, my home is still very much set up with dogs in mind. I offer two daily walks, lots of companionship, and access to my small but secure, dog-friendly garden. Your pet would be welcomed warmly, treated with genuine affection, and cared for as if they were one of my own during their stay. My garden is fully fenced and completely safe. I have gates up in the home and doors to block and exits (just in case anyone tries to make a break for it)
“We were a bit apprehensive about leaving Mabel as she has only been left with family before but Donna was very welcoming and friendly and is a real animal lover. Mabel stayed for the morning and was very happy. We wouldn’t hesitate to use Donna again in the future.”

About: I’ve been around dogs most of my life, including growing up with my own dog where I helped with daily care, walks, and basic training. More recently, I regularly look after and walk my nan’s dog, making sure she’s exercised and well cared for. I’ve also helped neighbours, friends, and family with dog sitting, walking, and general care, so I’m comfortable with different breeds and personalities. Whether it’s a relaxed walk or a more active one, I’m happy to adapt to what each dog needs. I’m reliable, easy to communicate with, and always make sure dogs feel safe, happy, and properly looked after. I work full-time in the fire service, so I’m reliable and used to responsibility, but I still have good availability for dog walking and pet care. I’m available most evenings during the week and more flexible on weekends. I’m happy to offer walks, drop-in visits, and boarding depending on availability. I provide a safe, calm, and caring environment for every dog in my care. I live in a first-floor flat, and any dogs staying with me will never be left alone, with full-time supervision and regular toilet breaks, attention, and a comfortable space to relax. Dogs in my care will get at least two walks a day, usually around an hour, with everything tailored to suit them. Whether they’re young or older, prefer shorter or longer walks, enjoy the beach or quieter routes, or need to be on or off the lead, I always adapt to their needs and your instructions. I’m happy to provide GPS tracking of walks where possible, along with regular photo updates, so you can see exactly where your dog has been and have full peace of mind while they’re with me.
“Dexter is always so excited to be back with Catherine and Barney! Catherine looks after him like one of her own, and I feel happy and safe when he is there. He is in excellent hands and always comes home so tired from a day of fun!”

“Teddy had a lovely day with Sandie. Sandie is very caring and treats each dog as a special individual. She has a lovely home and lovely local walks. Thank you Sandie for your care for Teddy today.”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs - we’ve had a Dalmatian/ husky / Labrador mix as well as a corgi and then a German shepherd rescue dog who was a very nervous and shy dog. I am proud foster mum to a stubborn sausage dog (who will be able to stay at his owners when I look after other dogs) and have experience looking after energetic spaniels, barky french bulldogs as well as kind and calm rescue dogs from Macao and Romania. I work from home and my job is very flexible so I can give your dog my full attention either at my home or in the home they are used to. I love spending time with furry friends - cuddles, playtime, long or short walks, I’m super easy, caring and attentive. I work from home, my job is very flexible and I can flex my work diary around commitments so can take time off and have plenty of time for walks, play time or wee breaks. I live in a two bed flat with a balcony and an enclosed garden area. I am near lots of fields and places to walk and let dogs run around

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
