Cat Sitting in West Dorset

About: I have 10 years experience caring for dogs, including my own dogs, and dogs of family members and friends. I have my own dog, Larry, who I absolutely adore. He will stay with my husband whilst I dog sit in other homes. I work full time as a speech therapist, however, much of my work is done from home. Aside from dog sitting, I am available for evenings for dog sitting and walking. My husband Will works from our home, and also has a rover account. He is available to take bookings during week days and also weekends. We have a secure fenced back garden for rest breaks. We are very lucky to live near many open fields for long dog walks, but can also accommodate for older or less mobile dogs.

About: I have taken care of dogs for way over 8 years for friends, family and local people to me. From walking to bathing, to feeding and cuddles. I love it all, and love spending overnight time with my furry friends I am currently working part time so have a lot of time for my fury friends, with availability to do overnight stays any days of the week. I am very cautious of keeping my fury friends in sight at all times and granted their and their owners wishes for their routines, as well as ensure they get plenty of fun exercise and cuddles

About: I’ve taken care of many animals since I was little. From medicating old street dogs in India to puppy training and cuddling! About: I have grown up around animals, having dogs for most of that time. I moved over from South Africa in 2020, bringing my wife, Savannah (who will occasionally join on the walks) and more importantly, two rescues with us. Our family has grown to include two Romanian rescues. One foster that ended up being an adoptee and the other is a fostered while he learns to be around people and adjusts to a new way of life before he moves onto his forever home (unless he just ends up staying forever). I understand the complexities of walking with dogs that don't come from traditional local backgrounds and require a different style of walk to make them feel safe and comfortable while out and about. I am always happy to adjust the walk to match the dog from a nice chilled walk around the block for the golden oldies to a brisk, enrichment-filled walk for the younger, more energetic hounds. Currently, I am taking an online dog first aid course and working my way through a Reactive Dog Training course, designed primarily for Romans but suitable for all dogs. With long-term plans on becoming a dog behaviourist to try help more people with anxious dogs. I currently work full-time with a 4-on-4 schedule for the ambulance service, so I will be marking my availability around those shifts. Some of those work days, I may have availability in the afternoons or late evenings in the summer. I have medical experience not only with the two-legged species but also with four-legged ones. Coming from a conservation background in South Africa has helped with this. I am a strong believer in force-free training and focus on rewarding good behaviour, which I find works amazingly with my four rescues who come with an unknown history and get very nervous around people. Out on walks, I try to utilise scent work and other forms of enrichment to make the walk more enjoyable and enriching for the dogs not only working the body but the brain.

About: I grew up on a dairy farm with all kinds of animals and domestic pets and have had a lifelong love of dogs. I was trusted to look after pets for other people from an early age and regularly look after the dogs of friends, neighbours and work colleagues. I absolutely walking and my morning and evening walks are always the highlight of my day. I am currently working full time in a school five minutes from home, and walk my dog every morning before school and in the afternoon after school. I live in the beautiful Dorset countryside and have some wonderful varied woodland walks on my doorstep. At weekends I usually take dogs to the beach, always the highlight of the week! I am off work for half terms and school holidays and love being able to spend more time looking after pets. I have a fenced garden with room to play and run around and a super friendly cockapoo called Paddington who adores the company of other dogs. I stick to a routine of regular feeding times, two walks every day and regular play time and cuddle time! I will work to the routine of your dog to make them feel safe and welcomed.
