I was worried they would be anxious and stressed but nope they were so content and happy. I recommend Kevinjon 100%. Thank you again Kevinjon”

About: Hi, I’m James—a recently retired IT professional with 30 years of experience, now embracing a slower, more soulful pace of life in beautiful Galashiels. At 59, I’ve swapped out the boardroom for bridle paths and couldn’t be happier spending my days outdoors with four-legged companions. Originally from Canada with Scottish roots (both my parents are from here), I’ve recently relocated from Surrey. Dogs have always been a huge part of my life—I've had over a dozen of my own over the years, including our recent beloved springer spaniel, Cilla, who lived a full and happy life despite having epilepsy from the age of one. I’ve long been the go-to dog sitter/walker for friends and family, especially when they’re off on holiday. Whether it’s energetic pups or older dogs needing a gentler pace, I’m experienced, patient, and genuinely love their company. I understand the trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else’s care, and I take that responsibility seriously. If your dog enjoys countryside walks, a calm and confident handler, and a bit of extra TLC, I’d love to meet them. Let’s make tails wag together! I'm retired now so my schedule’s really flexible, so I can easily fit in walks, drop-ins, or longer stays without juggling other work commitments. I’ve always been the one friends and family turn to when they need someone to look after their pets, so it feels very natural to build that into my weekly routine. Whether I’m looking after a dog in my home or visiting them in theirs, their safety and comfort always come first. At my place in Galashiels, dogs have a calm, secure environment with plenty of space to relax—and of course, access to lovely countryside walks right on the doorstep. I keep things clean, quiet, and stress-free, and I’m always mindful of each dog’s routine, diet, and any special needs. Having cared for dogs with medical conditions (like our spaniel Cilla, who had epilepsy), I’m confident handling medications and keeping a close eye on their wellbeing. If I’m caring for a dog in their own home, I treat it with the same respect I’d expect from someone looking after mine. I stick closely to the dog’s usual routine to help them feel settled, and I always keep communication open with regular updates and photos so owners know their pet is happy and in good hands.

About: I looked after my family dogs and friends dogs too. I had lots of pets in the past because I love animals and I had a field. I work from home and have a lovely dog. I live by the meadows and take my dog for amazing walks. It is an opportunity to enjoy the company of best human friends in a pleasant atmosphere. Dogs who came here had the time of their lives. Friends suggested me I should be looking after dogs. I have a lovely dog and look after him. I work from home flexible hours so they are all day with me, right next to me getting cuddles and attention, walks and exercise. I have a nice fenced garden, a cozy living room and kitchen. Dogs are right next to me wherever I go. I live by the meadows in Edinburgh. Dogs paradise.

“Catherine and James looked after our dog Tessa in our own house and we were extremely happy with the service and can absolutely recommend. Very straight forward with texts, messages and arrangements. Will definitely be using again.”

About: Hey there! I know how much your pet mean to you, and that’s exactly why I treat every animal I care for like my own. I was a devoted pug parent for 12 years, so I truly understand the love, quirks, and special needs that come with dogs. Beyond my own dog, I’ve also spent time volunteering with rescue dogs in Spain, helping them find their forever homes. From walking and socializing shelter dogs to using social media to connect them with the right families, I’ve seen firsthand how unique and wonderful every dog is. On top of that, friends often trust me to look after their dogs, so I’ve had experience with all kinds of breeds and personalities. Whether it’s keeping a high-energy pup entertained, making sure an older dog gets the extra care they need, or just being a comforting presence while you’re away, I’m here to help. I know leaving your dog in someone else’s care can be a big decision, but I can promise you they’ll get all the love, attention, and belly rubs they deserve. Let’s chat—I’d love to meet your dog! I work part-time both from home and the office, which gives me the flexibility to adjust to your dog’s needs. Pet care is a central part of my daily routine, so whether your pup needs regular walks, feeding, playtime, or medication, I can be there to provide consistent and loving care. My flexible schedule allows me to accommodate different pet care needs throughout the week, ensuring your dog gets the attention and companionship they deserve. You can count on me to keep them happy, healthy, and well-cared for whenever you need. In My Home: When caring for pets in my home, I ensure a safe, comfortable, and stimulating environment. About: I’ve grown up surrounded by animals and completely understand how much they become part of the family. My journey with dogs began at age 10 when we welcomed Lexy, a chocolate Labrador, into our home. A few years later, Buster the springer spaniel joined us. They were total opposites—Lexy was calm and gentle, while Buster has always been full of energy! Looking after them both taught me how to be patient, attentive and adaptable to different needs and personalities. Sadly, we lost Lexy a few years ago, but Buster is still going strong at 11 and keeps me on my toes. I’ve also pet-sat for family friends over the years, caring for dogs, cats, horses, sheep, and even chickens. I’m confident handling animals of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments. Spending time with animals is something I find incredibly calming and fulfilling. I love walking and being outdoors, and it’s always more enjoyable with a furry friend by my side. Whether it’s cuddles on the couch or a muddy adventure in the woods, I aim to make every pet feel safe, happy, and loved while in my care. I currently work 3 days a week and every other weekend, but the great thing is that I finish my shifts by 1:30pm, so I’m free all afternoon and evening for pet care. That gives me loads of time to give your pets the attention and company they need whether it’s a long walk, playtime in the garden, or just being there to keep them calm and content while you're out. I offer a caring and safe environment with plenty of experience handling animals of all sizes and temperaments. I'm happy to follow any routine or accommodations your pet needs to make sure they feel secure and well looked after. I understand the importance pets have to us and truly are part of the family and I always treat every animal as if they were my own.

Ruth is professional and caring, creating a wonderful home from home environment for your beloved doggy!! We highly recommend her!! Gary. J”
