We were so pleased to have found Wayne on Rover, especially as we needed to make last-minute arrangements due to a change in plans. From the moment they met, Ronnie took to Wayne straight away, which immediately put our minds at ease. Wayne kept us updated throughout Ronnie's stay, and it was clear he was being well looked after. When we picked Ronnie up, he was relaxed, happy, and completely himself, which is always the best sign that he's been comfortable and cared for. Thank you, Wayne, for looking after Ronnie so well. We wouldn't hesitate to use your services again and will definitely be back if we need help in the future.

Jet spent a day with Elanor in doggy day care. He 's often anxious but seemed very relaxed and calm when I picked him up. When I asked him abut it later he said " I had a great day. Elanor was lovely and gave me lots of belly rubs. Can I go again please ?" I would recommend Elanor to others .

About: I have enjoyed learning canine psychology and body language since around the age 10, this help me understand my dogs and find new ways of training them which is one of my favourite hobbies, although since moving out of my parents I have been really busy and I don’t have any time to get a dog of my own so I would absolutely love to look after dogs in my spare time. I don’t mind walking and training dogs, administering medications, check ins to provide some mental stimulation, make sure everything is okay or to let them into the garden. I have just finnished studying and I’m hoping I can spend some time walking peoples dogs as I’ve moved out of home and cannot see my own regularly due to the bus schedule. I have a lot of free time now until September when I start my degree so I would absolutely love to board and walk your pets. I am free all the time currently and I need something to do which I enjoy as dogs are one of my favourite things in the world. I am calm, patient, and understanding of a dogs behaviour and will always treat them with respect for the entire time I am with them. I only ever use positive reinforcement such as verbal rewarding or treats rather than shouting. I live in the center of Scarborough and have a small garden which they can use while also being able to easily get to the beach, forests, parks and fields to let them burn off some energy. My parents and family dogs live in Staintondale where there is a large fenced garden and plenty of fields to burn off energy and play games.

About: Dogs have always been in our family. Since I was 17 I have always owned a dog. Our last dog- Bailey was with us until he was 16. Recently we have a new addition to the household- paddy, he is a lively, friend Springador who loves to play. We also have ‘puggy’ who is getting old now and just likes to relax most days. I adore dogs, and have many years experience of how to care for them properly. I enjoy daily walks in the local area, at the beach and in the woods. I am currently on maternity leave from work so can be available every day. I have 2 young children at home who love our dogs. We go out for daily walks. I have a fenced yard so toilet breaks can be regular, I usually leave the back door open all day so dogs can go in and out as they please. Daily walks will be offered if needed. Dogs can be crated if needed but I don’t really like doing it.

About: I have had a dog since i was a child and have always grown up with them. Since he has passed away i have found comfort in walking other peoples dogs. I have often walked my friends frenchies, my boyfriends Samoyed and Jack Russel & my friends Spaniels aswell as my BNB hosts dog. I find that i love walking to clear my head and go on at least 1 hour walk a day and it would be great to do this with a furry companion. Im currently at university monday and tuesdays full time. I work a part time job at the downe arms in wykeham but the shift patterns are subject to change on a weekly basis. I am free to walk a majority of the time as i make time for it. I am very trustworthy to care for a pet in the pet owners home and will abide by any house rules that are in place.

About: Hi thanks for taking the time to read my profile My name is Chloe I’m 32 years old and dog obsessed! I studied at one of the best animal care colleges in the uk (writtle) and have recently qualified as a dog groomer. I will be opening my grooming business when I have bought my property in two years. I have just purchased a puppy golden retriever so your dog must be good around young pups if they are to stay in my home with me. I have been a sitter for just over a year now, I have always been around dogs as my grandmother rescues them abroad and I’d often help her with all different sizes and breeds. I have owned dogs most of my life so I’m very experienced, you can relax knowing they will be very safe in my care. They will be spoilt with cuddles and attention, I love long walks along the sea front and beach so they will get lots of exercise if required. I work self employed from home so I have free time to walk or sit your dogs at any time of day or evening. When your dog is in my care he/she will be very spoilt with love, attention and way too many cuddles and trips outdoors, I love integrating pets into my life style because it gets me out and about rather than sitting on my laptop working all day and I just love the company of dogs and enjoy every minute as you can tell from my photos I’m always happiest when I’m with dogs and always form bonds with them Please note that day care is between 8am-8pm anything beyond this I class as an overnight booking. I generally won’t take dogs that are not toilet trained. **PRICES WILL DROP IF THERE ARE REPEAT BOOKINGS** I only start with high prices to begin with. I can care for pets in your home, large dogs might be a bit difficult but I’m happy to walk larger breeds and sit them in your home.

About: I have had pets all throughout my life. These include dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, chickens and horses. I have a small amount of training experience from our last dog who was a border collie and i used to take her to puppy training and agility courses. currently have Willow who is a German Shepherd who is extremely well behaved and loves absolutely every one. I also have five cats and 8 chickens. I am currently working from home so I am at home 24/7 with all our pets. When I was working Willow would go to doggy day care which she absolutely loves. Many walks are taken throughout the day and I love going to the forest an the beach. I have an enclosed back garden which is completely secure. I allow all pets on furniture and beds however if you are not happy with this I can accommodate to suit. All meals will be given as requested also to suit. I have a large car so can take out if you are comfortable with this (I do insist that all dogs are buckled in for safety) I live in the country so have plenty space to walk from home.

About: We’ve had dogs all our lives and currently care for two of our own, so we’re confident handling all ages, sizes, and personalities. We also foster dogs until they find their forever homes, which has given us hands‑on experience with nervous dogs, unsure rescues, and dogs with behavioural challenges. Through fostering and personal experience, we’ve become comfortable administering medications, building trust with anxious dogs, and creating calm, safe routines for pets who need extra patience and reassurance. Pet care fits easily into our routine because I work from home and my partner works part‑time, so there is always someone at home. This means dogs are never left alone, get plenty of attention, and can enjoy regular playtime, and a calm, consistent environment throughout the day. We provide a calm, dog‑friendly home where pets are always supervised as one of us is always in. We keep routines consistent, follow all feeding and medication instructions carefully, and make sure walks and garden time are safe and secure. Whether in our home or yours, we focus on creating a relaxed, trustworthy environment where every dog feels comfortable.

About: I work part time from home so plenty of attention during your pet’s stay with us. Both myself and my husband have grown up around dogs, we have also had two family dogs over the past 20 years or so, but sadly our last fur baby left us for Rainbow Bridge seven years ago, aged 14. We have hosted dogs belonging to family and friends, for day visits, overnight stays and special trips to the seaside. We only accept well behaved dogs and prior to booking we always have a meet and greet with yourselves and your dog, we're sure you would also like to meet us too. We would love to know the little quirks and character of your dog to ensure he/she has a happy and settled stay with us, so let us know any special requirements, no matter how small, which your dog would require for his/her happiness and well being. During your dog’s stay with us he/she will enjoy two daily walks along country fields close to our home, around 40 mins each, if your dog requires less of more please let us know. Once the weekend arrives we explore the wider area, with walks surrounding the town we call home. Our home has a secure and fenced garden accessible from the kitchen via patio doors which are open most of the day, weather permitting, for your dog to enjoy the garden. The kitchen is the heart of our home, so rest assured your dog will be part of the family during his/her stay. The room provides a cosy corner where your furbaby is able to snuggle in their bed if they feel the need to nap in between exploring new places, enjoying a new social life and playing with favourite toys. Within 5 minutes of our home we have open countryside for walks, a run a round or a game of fetch.

FAQs for Doggy Day Care - Scarborough

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in Scarborough on Rover is £32.2 per day (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 130 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in Scarborough. About 87% of Scarborough sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your Scarborough commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in Yorkshire and the Humber may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
