“Anitha was brilliant with Humphrey who is only a puppy. She sent me regular photos and updates. He had an amazing time. I would recommend, your dog will be so well looked after.”

“Adam looked after Jasper while we were visiting the area for a family christening. We were kept informed throughout the afternoon on how Jasper had settled, walks, meals etc. from the photographs and videos Adam sent jasper seemed very settled with Adam. If I come to the area again I would definitely leave my dog with Adam and thoroughly recommend his dog care services”

“Rocco absolutely adored staying with Joshua and his family. He was welcomed with open arms in to the family home. Such a peace of mind knowing he was going to a place he loves , leaves me at the door to go his happy place 💜”

“Luke and his partner were so kind and understanding when they looked after Cilla for the day (it was the first time we had left her with someone). They sent a photo and update and we discussed what I could take to help her settle further when she has an overnight stay. Thank you!”

“Xiao did an amazing job looking after our 3 months old Yorkie. It was our puppy’s first time interacting with other fluffy friends, and Xiao handled everything with great care and professionalism, helping her settle in and adapt comfortably. She kept us updated throughout the entire stay, which gave us so much peace of mind. We’re incredibly grateful for her support and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, attentive, and experienced sitter - especially for young puppies.”

About: I absolutely love animals and dogs in particular. I grew up with a beautiful black Labrador and I have so many lovely memories of him. Dogs are an important part of a family and I would love to take care of your precious pet when you need someone to trust. I provide natural dog treats for your dogs arrival and outdoor space to play with balls etc 🐶🐾🐕 your dog will have lots of love and fun with us so you can leave them with no worries at all. I have lots of experience with nervous dogs and know the perfect route to walk them near me that has little to no dogs around. We do not own any animals apart from our tortoise Scaley who lives in a cage in the kitchen 🥰 I have my own business and work from home most of the day so it will be no problem to incorporate a lovely dog into my daily routine. I have plenty of time and love to give and it would be an honor to have your doggy in my home. I have a garden which is unfenced down the side but I will be able to take dogs to the park for a run around and for walks in more secluded areas for nervous dogs. I have a large kitchen area that can be the perfect place for crates or dog beds and the dogs are welcome in the living room too. We are also happy for dogs to sleep in our bedroom if they prefer. We are flexible and will try our hardest to accommodate your needs.
“Emily has been amazing looking after Freddie today. He has loved it too with her pooch carter. He settled in nicely and had lots of fun. Emily kept me updated during the day and sent some beautiful pictures of them both. He will be back 😊”

“Sara once again has been absolutely amazing with Lenny’s day care whilst I was away and was quick to respond to any enquiries I had and kept me updated if he hadn’t ate much (which he has a tendency to do!). Sara and her boyfriend take impeccable care of Lenny whilst I am away and couldn’t be more grateful to know my boy is in a loving & great home! Lenny I think now believes Sara is a 3rd parent and her house is now his! I’m sure he can’t wait to come again!”

“I was really nervous about leaving Cassie as she has separation anxiety and is very hyper attached to me. I took her for a 'meet and greet' the day before and spent some time getting to know Rhiannon and her Mum and for Cassie to get used to them and their home. When I dropped her off the day after, Cassie was really happy to see them again. Rhiannon kept me updated through the afternoon and told me that Cassie had been crying for me so she had fetched her Auntie's dog in the hope that it would settle her down, and it worked. I thought that was really thoughful of her and showed clearly how much she cares for dogs and their wellbeing. Highly recommended.”

“Dan is so accommodating, friendly, knowledgeable and we had no qualms leaving our baby puppy with him knowing he would be treated like one of his family. It's always an anxious time leaving your pup but Oscar came home, happy and content, exercised, fed, watered and loved 😍 Highly recommend Dan and we hope he will be a big part of Oscars future thank you!”

About: I have taken care of friends and families, neighbours pets for them whilst they are away, or at work. I have a dog of my own and had him since being a puppy and would love to help others out with looking after their pet whilst they are away or at work and unable to. I’m currently studying so I have a lot of free time as well for something I enjoy doing. I am free most days and can also do last minute requests. “This was my first time using Rover.com and luckily I choose Maisie. I made two bookings one which I had to cancel at short notice and the other I had to amend the start/end times. Maisie took it all in her stride and was happy to go with the changes. She picked Bernie up from my house and took him to stay with her for the day. He went with Maisie without looking back once which assured me that he felt safe and happy with her. She is pleasant, friendly and professional and I would definitely recommend her, in fact, I have already made another booking.”

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Yorkshire and the Humber may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
