“Rebekah was so great to our crazy dogs when we were visiting town for the weekend. She did a meet and greet even though we would only have one visitor her. We have really high standards and she exceeded them. So grateful to be able to travel with our dogs and have a few hours away from them without worrying.”

“We are so pleased with Melissa's care and communication. She was prompt, friendly, and sent plenty of pictures, updates and info about our little furry guy while we were gone. She was a pleasure to work with!”

“Paigg was easy to engage with and communicative throughout during the two weeks we were out of town and needed extra help. We had three dogs and all seemed happy and well cared for. Thank you paigg!”

About: Cat person for life. I currently have four, as well as an Australian shepherd. I used to travel a lot for work, so I understand how stressful it can be making sure the four legged babies have everything they need when away. I’m here to help any way I can, whether it’s giving a medication or helping with the potty stuff! I recently left a demanding corporate job and currently am very flexible - morning, evening, during the week or on the weekend! **Due to several issues with owners not being on time for drop off or pick up, I want to add that when accepting a booking, the time is very important as well as the day as other appointments may be on my schedule that day. It is very important that the drop off and pick up times selected are accurate for smooth transitions.** I would care for the pet as instructed by the owner. I understand all animals have their own personality and preferences and their owners know best. I also want the owners to feel comfortable knowing their pet is in good hands while they are away!
“Tabitha is been walking my 85 year old mother's labradoodle for about a month. Tabitha has been very kind to my mother and has taken great care of Cocoa. I always get updates about their walks and what business Cocoa has done. Tabitha has also been very dependable through the sub-zero weather we have had this winter. She always shows up with a smile and is happy to be there.”

About: I am a 39 year old animal lover who works in the service industry with a flexible schedule and adventurous lifestyle. My dog, Kiteboarding and camping are my top 3 passions in life. I volunteer for the rescue I got my dogs from and walk many of them on Monday's. Serving is great but doesn't always pay the bills and I have several friends who have loved sitting through rover, and I love dogs and cats so it seemed like a no brainer. I hope to meet you and your furry companions soon! Currently I am working two jobs. Tuesdays and Wednesdays I am available before 10am and after 6pm. Thursday through Sundays my schedule is different every week unfortunately.. but I typically have availability at some point, it just varies. As of right now I have availability on Mondays all day for pets as I'm off of both jobs. I can care for your baby however you feel most comfortable and don't mind special requests or requirements, whatever keeps them safe and happy! I have experience with all sizes, breeds, backgrounds and ages of dogs.
About: My acute and constant awareness comes from a true passion for what I do, no matter the job. While I have experience administering medication orally, my experience truly lies in patience and presence, lending well to specialized care and training. I prioritize the care of your animal(s) as I would my own. I am happy to plan my life around my work schedule making it extremely flexible! I am trustworthy and discreet, highly respectful of other peoples homes and property as I would expect anyone to be with mine. I am never away from the home more than 4 hours (I nanny during the day from 2-5 pm + drive time). Typically dogs are walked a minimum of 3 times but I check in with them often and spend a lot of time outside! I have experience with long term in home, multiple animals, key lock boxes, one time pass codes, etc. I am more than happy to accommodate anything that promotes ease or comfortability for both my clients and their animals.
“Best dog walker ever! Henry loved Mackintosh from the minute they met! They kept us informed of all that they did and the photos sent to us were so good! Highly highly recommend Mackintosh!”

About: My name is Emily and my boy there is Mr. Roscoe Jenkins! The two of us recently moved in with my boyfriend Jordan in a lovely house in the Traverse City area and we now have upgraded to a large fenced in backyard! Jordan works from home full time and I am currently home full time as well. Im presently dealing with a work injury, so my ability to do long walks is not here, but I do take the dogs biking individually and they get tons of exercise that way. Im great at trai ing them to bike slow with me. I have had two family dogs, and two of my own. I lost my husky mix, Namuche, in 2014 and Roscoe came into my life in October 2015. I started doing Rover after I lost Namuche, because I wasn't quite ready to get another dog yet. The entire concept of Rover is great for the pets and great for me, and hands down beats having them stuck in a 6x8 kennel somewhere during your whole vacation only to come back to a doggie full of pent up energy. That never happens here. Around working a full 8 hour day, I still make sure the pups have at least two good walks a day, with their evening walk being longest. Tons of play time, attention, pets, couch time, exercise, kisses and often homemade treats at Your Dog's Second Mom! Roscoe is a rescue from Roswell, NM. He's definitely got a personality of his own. He is a 10 year old Chocolate lab/German Shorthaired Pointer mix. He's a sweetheart and has gotten along great with all other dogs during the first 4 years of doing Rover, and now with a few years under his belt, he's become a little pickier about who he likes in his space. He loves all females, and males generally with the exception of unneutered males. I have to make special adjustments to house any males he does not take to. He will be your pets companion during their stay. I can administer oral medication, bath, groom and walk your pets while you are gone so you can be at ease while you are away. I provide top quality care and comfortable environment for your pups during your time away. Roscoe helps make them feel at home too! As much outdoor time as possible - that is the best thing I think anyone can provide for an active dog. Lots of fresh air, sniffs and exercise. For the small ones, nice comfortably paced walks on the sidewalks. When we return, we do a couple tricks for treats and they're usually pooped out and ready for a nap by that point. I'm extra vigilant when walking other's dogs as it takes one a moment to learn their quirks - some dogs lunge at cars, some at people, some at bikes, you know. Safety is absolutely important and I would hope that someone paid the extra vigilance when walking my boy because he definitely has his quirks. I don't have children, so the dogs in my care are my babies. I wash their food bowls out every meal, haha Making sure we get out to the park for play and on the trail for daily hikes is as important to my daily routine as i feel it is for most dogs. The pups are a part of my every day, all day. Roscoe Jenkins is here to show your pup the ropes! I never have the dogs out unattended. We're in an apartment but walks are often and we've got a large balcony for the pups to relax on!

Megan walked my dog a couple days ago week while I was at work during the school year and it was the biggest help! She is super flexible and understanding when schedules changed. Loved having the peace of mind knowing Lief was taken care of on my long work days. Would absolutely recommend Megan! :)

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
