You Just Found Your Dog's New BFF

Hi I'm Madi and I'm your dog's new best friend! I'm an animal lover based out of Traverse City, Michigan. My love for animals basically started from birth. I grew up on a farm in Leland where I was constantly surrounded by animals of all kinds including dogs, horses, chickens, cows, sheep, goats, rabbits, and more. However, out of all of the animals I've had I've always had a special place in my heart for dogs and horses. I currently have two dogs of my own, a toy poodle named Lo and a chihuahua/Japanese Chin Kitty! They may be small in size but they have huge personalities! In high school, I worked at a barn to help cover the expenses of owning a horse, I was in charge of taking care of 15 horses, 5 dogs and 6 cats! During this time I developed a deep understanding of animals, and I learned how far a lot of patience and hard work can get you! Over the past several years I have worked as a foster dog parent with multiple rescues around the Denver area. I've fostered dogs from 4 weeks old all the way up to lovely seniors! Through fostering I've learned a lot about care requirements for different breeds and special care for health problems. I'm very comfortable giving animals medication and following special care routines! I also rescue sugar gliders and chinchillas as a passion project and have several varieties of reptiles including uromastyx, tortoises, geckos, skinks, and more! I love all animals big, small, furry, or scaly and am also always open to helping with exotic animal care if those services are ever needed as well! :)

So kind and sweet with Stella, I could tell she was well taken care of when I got back home. Madison is also just a cool person and I’ll definitely be using her again.

On from out of town. Our dogs were happy and tired from their walks. Got lots of pictures and an update.

Safety, trust & environment

I live in a pet friendly home! We are in a semi private area at the end of a caldesac very very far away from busy roads, although the yard is not fenced off it has natural barriers that tend to keep the dogs inside (although they’re always supervised outdoors) I have wood floors and a pet proofed home. I have two small dogs of my own, they typically go out every 2-3 hours, and go on a walk once or twice a day. If your pet is staying with me, they will also go out as much as needed and be joining us for walks (if thats okay with you of course!) Pets are allowed on the bed and furniture in my house, they are treated as family. I do have a cat named Shambhala, as long as your dog gets along with cats he will most likely ignore your dog. He thinks he's too cool to be friends with dogs, his loss. I also have a handful of small caged pets- they are in their own room that dogs have no access to!

Pets

A typical day

During a typical day I will take the dogs out to the yard and play or throw their ball to burn some excess energy. I also live within walking distance to a handful of different parks to walk to and play in. In the summer I take the dogs down to our shared beach access on west bay and let the dogs swim and play in the beach!

Please let me know if your dog has any special behaviors, needs or anything else I should know about! My goal is to make your furry friend as comfortable and happy as possible in my care! I am more than happy to do meet ups, home walk throughs, and introductions between our pets prior to any home stays.
