“Kayla was great! She shared lots of pictures and videos, and I was confident that my cat, Chloe, was under good care with her. I will definitely book with her again in the future!”

“Allison was the first Rover sitter we’ve used, and we’re super happy with our experience! She was very responsive, followed our instructions perfectly, and was consistent with visit times and photo updates. I felt confident knowing our cat Chloe was being taken care of while we were away. We will definitely be booking with her again in the future!”

“Lisa provided outstanding care for our dog Ellie and cat Sergio during her recent stop-in visits. She had a great understanding of their unique needs and routines. Regular updates and genuine affection for our pets put our minds at ease. Both Ellie and Sergio were happy and well cared for. Lisa was very friendly and personable, and we can’t recommend her highly enough.”

“Paigg is amazing, she picked up our last minute request and sent lots of photos of our fur babies. I felt totally comfortable knowing she was caring for our pets while we were away. I’d definitely book with her again!”

“Melissa was a joy to have as a sitter for our shy kitty! (I’m only sad that he wasn’t more social!). She is a great communicator, very conscientious, consistent, and patient. I would not hesitate to recommend her to others or to request a rebook in the future. Thank you so much, Melissa!”

“Monika was great! She was very responsive, shared updates before heading to our home, and sent lots of pictures during each visit. She was also very flexible when our schedule changed, which we really appreciated. I will definitely book with Monika again in the future and highly recommend her to others!”

“My Joey was happy and well taken care of when I came home. Nicole was a great communicator and so kind and loving toward my cat, I will definitely ask her back next time I'm away!”

“Marlana was great with our dog! They went for long walks and Marlana let me know how Poppy did. On time, friendly and worked around our wacky schedule, would definitely hire Marlana again!”

“Mackintosh took great care of our cat Callie with daily drop ins while our family was away. They were super communicative, even stopping by to meet with us and discuss Callie's needs before we left. Callie is a friendly cat in general but was extremely comfortable with them right away, and it was a relief to know she'd be in such good hands. They sent lots of great videos after every drop in, too. Would highly recommend Mackintosh to anyone seeking top notch care for their pets!”

About: I have been watching dogs since I was in high school for neighbors but recently took up watching dogs seriously in the last year or so. I worked at a private country club in California for the last year and was very involved in watching members dogs. This included taking them for walks, stopping in for daily visits while owners are away or spending multiple nights, sometimes up to a week staying with dogs. This has included many different breeds ranging from schitzus to giant poodles. I am comfortable with multiple animals. I work from home as a freelancer in the golf industry so my schedule is completely flexible to your needs. I am available for morning walks, lunchtime walks and evening walks. I follow clients directions very carefully and can play with, walk or entertain your dog as long as you request. I love caring for animals.
About: Hi, I’m Aubrey 👋 I offer calm, attentive, in-home pet care designed to help your pets feel safe, comfortable, and completely at ease while you’re away. I specialize in multi-pet households and have a natural ability with animals who need a little extra patience—whether that’s senior dogs, shy personalities, or pets who are used to a slower, more grounded environment. • 10+ years of experience with a wide range of temperaments • Especially attuned to anxious, sensitive, or senior pets • Experienced with multi-pet homes and complex routines • Respectful, clean, and mindful in clients’ homes • Consistent updates so you always feel connected and reassured 📸 I’m not just here to “watch” your pets—I create a steady, comforting presence so their routine and emotional world stay intact. Pet care is a central part of my daily life, and I intentionally keep my schedule spacious so I can be fully present with the pets in my care. I prioritize consistency, calm routines, and quality time—especially for pets who thrive on familiarity and one-on-one attention. All bookings, communication, and payments are handled through Rover for ease and peace of mind 🐾 Your pet’s emotional and physical safety are my top priorities. I’m especially mindful with: • Senior pets who need slower pacing or extra care • Shy or anxious animals who take time to warm up • Maintaining your pet’s exact routine, environment, and comfort cues I approach each home with deep respect—keeping things clean, calm, and consistent so your pet feels secure and your space is cared for.
About: Cat person for life. I currently have four, as well as an Australian shepherd. I used to travel a lot for work, so I understand how stressful it can be making sure the four legged babies have everything they need when away. I’m here to help any way I can, whether it’s giving a medication or helping with the potty stuff! I recently left a demanding corporate job and currently am very flexible - morning, evening, during the week or on the weekend! **Due to several issues with owners not being on time for drop off or pick up, I want to add that when accepting a booking, the time is very important as well as the day as other appointments may be on my schedule that day. It is very important that the drop off and pick up times selected are accurate for smooth transitions.** I would care for the pet as instructed by the owner. I understand all animals have their own personality and preferences and their owners know best. I also want the owners to feel comfortable knowing their pet is in good hands while they are away!
About: Been dog sitting for about 4 years now, we unfortunately can’t get a dog of our own but would love to care for others furry family members. Morning walks between 7am and 10am are a must for me. Having a furry friend to come a long with is always a plus! Have experience at most of the dog parks in the area. We don't have pets currently but I care for others pets by talking to them, they can understand us right? Always on leach. Respecting others dogs' space. Lots of good boy or girl pets and scratches! And enforcing rules the owner wants me to follow :)
About: I have cared for dogs and cats since I was a little kid! I love all animals but have had mostly dogs and cats all my life. I have experience in training my own dogs from puppies into senior dogs and they were spoiled rotten every step of the way. I am currently working a part time very flexible job. I have plenty of time to come walk or play with dogs or feed or spoil and take care of them any way they need. I am only available to care for pets in the clients home. I am reliable, respectful and responsible and will give all the fun time needed for your fur baby.

Paigg has been my cat sitter the past 2 times I've gone abroad for extended trips and she's been amazing! I love her photos and detailed visit notes she sends at the end of every visit. I know she is looking out for my babies and giving them all the love she can while I am away. She will be my go-to for pet sitting whenever she's available. Thank you, Paigg!

Sydney was exactly what we needed for our first time SnowBird winter escape. She was punctual despite horrible weather & a challenging driveway. She was resourceful when there were “issues”. Her communication with us was extraordinary. She is already invited back!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Traverse City. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
