“Kayla was great! She shared lots of pictures and videos, and I was confident that my cat, Chloe, was under good care with her. I will definitely book with her again in the future!”

“Lisa provided outstanding care for our dog Ellie and cat Sergio during her recent stop-in visits. She had a great understanding of their unique needs and routines. Regular updates and genuine affection for our pets put our minds at ease. Both Ellie and Sergio were happy and well cared for. Lisa was very friendly and personable, and we can’t recommend her highly enough.”

“Lola did great with Stephanie and Scott. She seemed to be perfectly content when we returned from our four-days away. Stephanie was easy to work with. Highly recommend and I would use Stephanie and Scott again.”

“Thank you so much for the last minute care for Maddy and Bella! I really appreciate it. Thnks for the gret communication and pictures. I will let you know when I need care again”

“Kristen was the best caretaker for our dogs that we’ve had to date. Would recommend. Gave us detailed updates and made us feel comfortable leaving our dogs for a week.”

“From the moment we met Jill we could easily see her instant bonding with our dog Sadie. A few days later Jill made a trip to our house to go over the detail of entry and dog care and to further nurture her positive relationship with our dog. Of course we were not here when Jill made her visit. But Sadie gave her a "5 paw" rating and mentioned that she would like to see Jill again. As a discrete young lady Sadie wished that Jill didn't give us detail on her "tinkle in the yard" but we certainly appreciated it. Plus the added bonus of a picture made our afternoon! Thanks Jill! Greg and Mary Jo”

About: I have been watching dogs since I was in high school for neighbors but recently took up watching dogs seriously in the last year or so. I worked at a private country club in California for the last year and was very involved in watching members dogs. This included taking them for walks, stopping in for daily visits while owners are away or spending multiple nights, sometimes up to a week staying with dogs. This has included many different breeds ranging from schitzus to giant poodles. I am comfortable with multiple animals. I work from home as a freelancer in the golf industry so my schedule is completely flexible to your needs. I am available for morning walks, lunchtime walks and evening walks. I follow clients directions very carefully and can play with, walk or entertain your dog as long as you request. I love caring for animals.
About: Cat person for life. I currently have four, as well as an Australian shepherd. I used to travel a lot for work, so I understand how stressful it can be making sure the four legged babies have everything they need when away. I’m here to help any way I can, whether it’s giving a medication or helping with the potty stuff! I recently left a demanding corporate job and currently am very flexible - morning, evening, during the week or on the weekend! **Due to several issues with owners not being on time for drop off or pick up, I want to add that when accepting a booking, the time is very important as well as the day as other appointments may be on my schedule that day. It is very important that the drop off and pick up times selected are accurate for smooth transitions.** I would care for the pet as instructed by the owner. I understand all animals have their own personality and preferences and their owners know best. I also want the owners to feel comfortable knowing their pet is in good hands while they are away!
About: I have cared for dogs and cats since I was a little kid! I love all animals but have had mostly dogs and cats all my life. I have experience in training my own dogs from puppies into senior dogs and they were spoiled rotten every step of the way. I am currently working a part time very flexible job. I have plenty of time to come walk or play with dogs or feed or spoil and take care of them any way they need. I am only available to care for pets in the clients home. I am reliable, respectful and responsible and will give all the fun time needed for your fur baby.
“Marissa took great care of our two cats during our weekend away. She charmed even our shy kitty during the intro visit and gave us the peace of mind that they’d have good company while we were away. Thank you Marissa for treating our babies like your own!”

“Patty was very patient and accommodating in meeting our anxious dog, and made sure he felt comfortable with introductions on his terms. It’s very clear she knows animals! We plan on booking her again in the near future”

About: Hi! My name is Alecia and I am a lifelong animal lover and a mama of 2 (plus my own furbaby - Bailey!) who understands how important it is to know your pets are safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I provide dependable, patient care and will treat your pets like they’re part of my own family. Whether your dog loves long walks, playing fetch, cuddling on the couch, or just keeping a familiar routine, I’m happy to tailor my care to their individual personality and needs. I am comfortable caring for dogs of all sizes and can provide regular potty breaks, exercise, playtime, feeding, medication (if needed), and lots of affection. I’ll also keep you updated with plenty of photos and messages so you can relax knowing your fur child is in good hands. I am currently self employed and work my own hours and schedule however I choose! So I have the flexibility to be available whenever your fur baby needs care! I treat every pet like they’re part of my family. Before each stay or visit, I take time to learn your pet’s routine, including feeding schedules, potty breaks, exercise, medications, favorite toys, and any special needs or quirks. In my home, pets receive plenty of love, attention, supervised playtime, and a comfortable, clean environment. I have a fully fenced-in yard where dogs can safely run, play, and enjoy fresh air under my supervision. I also make sure they have plenty of opportunities to rest and feel at home. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I do my best to keep their routine as consistent as possible to help them feel safe and comfortable. I’ll provide fresh food and water, walks or playtime, lots of affection (if they enjoy it!), clean up after them, and make sure they receive any medications or special care exactly as instructed. I’ll also send regular photo and text updates so you can relax knowing your pet is happy and well cared for while you’re away. My goal is to provide dependable, loving care that keeps both pets and their owners comfortable and confident.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
