“We loved having Ally do drop in visits for our pup while we were out of town. She was so sweet, patient and kind. Very caring when we it came to tending to our dog’s medication needs and boo boos! Her reports were fully of detail and photos, always made us smile while we were away. We were constantly reassured that our pup was happy, healthy and having a good time. She also made sure to bring in our many Christmas packages that were delivered. Couldn’t recommend Ally enough. Can’t wait to book her again.”

“Jordan is great to work with. She is reliable, knowledgeable about doggies and cares about my Luna. She is great communicating with me as she responds quick and keep me updated with her notes and pictures. I’ll continue to schedule Jordan to take care of Luna on a weekly basis.”

“Erin was absolutely phenomenal with our two cats. Both of them took to her quicker than anyone I've seen before! She was incredibly attentive and always made sure the cats had ample playtime, food, and water. We'll be happy to book Erin again for our next trip!”

“Steve is fantastic. He is very responsive, reliable, and goes out of his way to be helpful. His obvious love of dogs shines through, and our puppy clearly felt it, too. We have a fear-reactive young pup who up until now has not allowed anyone but family to pet her (including two dog trainers), so I was delighted (and relieved) that she felt comfortable enough with Steve to play with him and even allow him to pet her belly within the first visit. I can’t recommend him highly enough!”

“Tiara was wonderful taking care of our two cats! When our one cat was experiencing separation anxiety she immediately agreed to add a few more check ins to check on him! A+++ sitter; highly recommend!”

“Vu did exactly what I asked and provided thoughtful updates with photos included. He went above and beyond for my cats and left me feeling very comfortable that they received the best care while I was gone. Thank you Vu!”

“Erin was great! Our kitty Rhea took to her right away and was excited to see her when she came to take care of her! Couldn't wait for all the attention she gave her! Will definitely use her again!”

“Kailyn is amazing!! We left our kitties in her care for 9 days, and she took the best care of them! She was very professional and communicated extremely well! There was a snow storm when we were away, and she was great at keeping us updated on road closures and travel difficulties! I would recommend her to anyone who needs their cats or dogs taken care of! We plan on using her services in the future! Our kitties will miss seeing her daily!”

“Dear Makayla, thank you so much for taking wonderful care of Christy while we were away. I appreciate your dedication and compassion. I wish you and your family a wonderful new year.”

“Dani & Anthony are amazing!!!! I received daily updates and pictures of Remi the whole time I was away. They both made my trip 100 times better knowing Remi was being well taken care of.”

About: When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize keeping their routine as consistent and stress-free as possible. I follow all instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, fresh water, medications (if needed), walks, playtime, and any specific preferences your pet may have. I understand that every pet has a unique personality. Some pets love active play and exercise, while others prefer quiet companionship and extra cuddles. I take the time to build trust and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I have a flexible schedule that would offer me the opportunity to work with you and providing what you need for your pet care needs When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize keeping their routine as consistent and stress-free as possible. I follow all instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, fresh water, medications (if needed), walks, playtime, and any specific preferences your pet may have. I also respect my clients’ homes by keeping things clean, secure, and treating their space with the same care I would expect for my own. My goal is to provide dependable, loving care and give pet parents peace of mind knowing their furry family members are in good hands.
About: Walk time, play time, and snuggle time are all big parts of owning and loving a dog, and happen to be 3 of my favorite things. My 8 year old coonhound mix Wilbur loves to play tug and chase with his BFFs, Chase and Stitch, and would love to meet your pet if you'd like! Not every dog wants play, some need one on one time. I'm here because I love dogs and am in tune with their needs. I pay attention to what they are trying to tell me. I've grown up with dogs my entire life, from mutts to Cairn Terriers to Beagles to Pibulls to St. Bernards, and have yet to find a dog that doesn't like me. Even when their owner said they wouldn't. Even better than that, dogs listen to me inherently and when I come upon a stubborn pup, I know that patience and positive rewards trump everything! Wilbur's BFF Beau was a rescue from animal torturous testing and had many special needs. He was also a flight risk. I dog sat Beau and Lily for 7 years and have learned to never underestimate a Beagle's brain, they will not hesitate to outsmart you. Wilbur grew up with his now deceased BFFs Lily (super mutt) and Beau (Beagle) since he was 3.5 months old, so I have experience with puppies as well as senior pups who need attentive care. Beau and Lily required meds and special diet as they aged and lived their full lives. Thank you and I look forward to adding your pup to my 4-legged friend list! I'm currently working part time, so your pet will easily fit into my schedule. My hours are flexible and my car is reliable, ready to transport a new friend! I have a fenced in yard and gated wrap around porch, as well as 2 beagles (ages 5 and 7), and a medium sized Wilbur (age 8). At your home harnesses and leashes will always be on before any doors are opened. I can crate your dog as well, if you prefer that.
About: I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life. I worked at a Dog Kennel for 6 years. I would typically take care of 20+ dogs by myself. I am comfortable with all types of dogs at any age! From scared old pups to crazy hyper pups! I have taken care of dogs that were over 15 years old who couldn’t walk and puppies who were trying to eat everything they saw. I know my way with dogs pretty well and I’ve never met a dog that I couldn’t handle. My schedule is currently only open after 5pm Monday through Friday and any time on the weekends! I am able to do walk in to check on the pups and walks! I always try to get to know the owner and dog before taking care of the pup or staying in the clients home. I prefer meeting both client and dog about a week before starting to take care of the pups just so everyone is comfortable!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Thorndale
Julia took great care of our senior cat 🐱 Cybil while we were away for the weekend. Julia was on-time for her visits and spent time playing with Cybil and giving her some love and attention. We got lots of photos and communication was great. We were able to enjoy our getaway knowing Cybil was in good hands. I would highly recommend Julia to anyone in need of a pet sitter!

Vu has been excellent! This was our first time going away and it has been a relief to allow Rosie to stay in the comfort of her own home while we were gone. We got a ton of pictures and updates and it made us feel super comfortable. I am incredibly grateful we found Vu and will definitely be booking with him again for our next vacation!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
