“Makayla did a wonderful job caring for our cat. She was extremely responsive in her communication prior to our trip. While we were away, she sent detailed reports of her visits and lots of pictures. I had no concerns that my little kitty was having a nice time in her care. I will definitely hire her again in the future!!”

“I cannot recommend Kylie enough! Indy is usually a bit anxious around new people, but Kylie went above and beyond with an introduction and taking some time to get to know Indy. Throughout the stay, Kylie was incredibly communicative. I received regular updates and photos. The attention to detail, care, and love Kylie showed were outstanding. Kylie even offered extra drop in visits when part of our normal routine changed. If you’re looking for someone who is reliable, responsible, and genuinely loves animals, Kylie is a great choice. I’ll definitely be booking again in the future!”

“Kevin was great with both of my dogs. I have a senior and a puppy, so he had his hands full. I was very satisfied with the level of care he provided for my dogs & he sent pictures with each visit!”

“While I was away my dog decided it was the perfect time to have GI upset... Ashlee went above and beyond to help take care of her and did an amazing job communicating with me and cleaning up the mess. I'm so thankful for her and all her hard work.”

About: I have taken care of pets of all kinds for my whole life including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, lizards, fish, etc. I have experience with giving pets medications and monitoring for health concerns because my full-time job is a nurse. I’m great with different pets especially ones who are energetic, scared, or needing precise/specific instructions! Contact me! My husband and I share in the pet sitting duties. I work three days a week, and if I’m working, he is home. I have two children who need to get out of the house often so going on walks is a must and an easy part of our day. We have an amazing walking trail right behind our house that will help provide dogs the space they need to get exercise. I have a medium sized, fenced-in backyard. There is plenty of shade on my back patio to keep your pet cool on sunny days. I can crate pets if needed. I have a type A personality making me the perfect person to follow instructions to a “T”, keeps things organized/clean, and make safety a number 1 priority.
About: I have had Golden Retrievers since I could walk and am chosen by many to care for their dogs and homes while they escape Colorado. If you live in the Pinery, I’m sure you’ve seen me out walking and playing with dogs! I am home from college for the summer and am available to give your furry family member some peace, comfort, and company while you travel or work. I am available to care for your dogs in your home and will exercise them and play with them according to the owners instructions. Your dogs will be loved and cared for.
“This is the third time we’ve used Nicole, and she is the most professional and reliable person who has ever cared for our cat. This time was even more effort considering medication needs twice a day, but Nicole is reliable and very communicative. Would recommend her to anyone who needs someone they can genuinely trust as she’s the best in the business.”

“Maycee was wonderful with our pups, Rocky and Oliver. Great communication throughout and always showed up on time and was kind enough to spend time playing with our pups. This was our first time having our pups cared for this way (we were using a local kennel service until a bad experience forced us to reconsider) and Maycee kept my wife and I absolutely at ease throughout with her check-ins and pictures of our pups. If you're new to the service or considering a new pet sitter, don't think twice about booking Maycee. She's absolutely the best and will be a wonderful experienced sitter for you and your pups!”

“Brian was FANTASTIC!! We have 2 Boarder Collie Doodles. Littermates, 50 lbs who are quite active and who we have NEVER left before. He loved on them,(most important) walked them, and played ball! Above and beyond he picked up the poop!! If we travel that long again we want Brian!”

About: We are a family of pet lovers with years of experience caring for a variety of animals, from dogs and cats to rats, guinea pigs, lizards, snakes, fish, and chickens. From raising these animals with our kids to always having pets at home, we are comfortable with diverse pet types, including watering, feeding, and collecting eggs for ducks and chickens. Currently, we care for three young rat terriers and one senior rat terrier, keeping us up-to-date with pet care needs, especially for seniors. We have experience with puppies, kittens, and senior pets, understanding their unique requirements for attention and care. Larry and I are retired, so we can accommodate most scheduling needs for pet care, including last-minute requests. If there's ever a conflict, we'll communicate promptly to find a solution. Additionally, our son, who works remotely, is available to ensure continuous care, offering extra flexibility. Your pet's safety and well-being are our top priorities. We treat every pet as if they were our own, providing a loving and secure environment. With multiple family members available—Larry and I as retirees, and our son who works remotely—your pet will receive constant attention and care, ensuring peace of mind.
“Jenn is AMAZING we needed a last minute drop in for my four dogs and she was willing to do a meet and greet the night before and moved in my dogs like they were her own. She was great with all different ages and breads we have which is rare to find. My dogs were much happier when I came home from work and I could tell they had been loved on. We will be a reoccurring customer of hers as she has been such a blessing. I love knowing someone as AMAZING as Jenn is loving on my pups when I can’t.”

“Nancy did a fantastic job taking great care of our pups and cats while out of town!! We really appreciated her ability to come over for a meet and greet and take on the job on such short notice. We’ll definitely book with her again”

Nancy was fabulous! I have very high expectations and she exceeded them all. She is a great communicator, arrived to care for pets at the expected times, gave them extra love, and I could tell she very much enjoyed taking care of them. I plan to use her in the future!

Makayla did a wonderful job caring for our cat. She was extremely responsive in her communication prior to our trip. While we were away, she sent detailed reports of her visits and lots of pictures. I had no concerns that my little kitty was having a nice time in her care. I will definitely hire her again in the future!!

Megan is the absolute best! Do not hesitate to book her to take care of your fur babies. We have a crew of pets that is a little… extra… a nervous pup, a spicy cat and a very old kitty. We’ve tried other sitters and this crew has been too much, but not for Megan. She watched them for an entire week, even putting up with our spicy kitty chasing after her for the first few days! She did it all with a positive attitude and even sent silly pictures on Christmas. She has a gift with pets - and made us feel so comfortable! Thank you, Megan for helping us have a great vacation without worry for our pets!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in The Pinery. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
