“Danielle was the best! She came and checked in our cat while we were gone which definitely helped ease our worries. She was consistent, caring, and thoughtful, I definitely recommend her to checkin on your pets. Thank you so much Danielle!!”

“Nancy is phenomenal! She loves my dog and takes such good care of him. I know he’s in the very best hands when I have to be away. She has been so reliable and an absolute lifesaver. I trust her completely and am so grateful to have found her! She’s been taking care of my dog since he was a little puppy, and I know he just loves Nancy! I would highly recommend Nancy to anyone looking for a wonderful, trustworthy person to care for their pets.”

“Mihaela did a fantastic job and my dogs loved her. She is punctual, very communicative and treats our dogs extremely well. Will continue to work with her in the future!”

“Maycee is wonderful, so glad to have found her for my pups! She went above and beyond trying to soothe one of my fearful doggies and spent extra time giving them much need attention and love while we were away. Definitely will be using again!”
About: Hi there! I'm Melissa, a Colorado based dog lover with a soft spot for big personalities (mine included). I share my home with Shadow, my white Husky, who has taught me everything about patience, energy management, and the art of a truly dramatic sigh. If your dog has opinions, zoomies, or a favorite toy they refuse to share, we will get along great. I have spent years watching and caring for pets belonging to friends, family, and neighbors, so I know that every animal has their own quirks, routines, and love language. Some want a calm cuddle buddy. Some want a full-on adventure. I show up ready for either, with plenty of treats, patience, and genuinely too much enthusiasm for a game of fetch. I offer dog walking, pet boarding, house sitting, and drop in visits or daycare, so whatever your pet needs while you are away, I have a way to help. Whether it is a quick midday walk, a weekend stay at my place, or someone camped out on your couch keeping your pet company, you can count on me to treat your fur baby like part of my own pack. Booking a sitter can feel nerve wracking, especially the first time. My goal is to make it easy: clear communication, photo updates so you never have to wonder how things are going, and a genuine love for animals that your pet will pick up on immediately. Let's set up a meet and greet so Shadow and I can meet your best friend! I have a flexible schedule which gives me plenty of time to spend with your pets. I'm available weekdays after 8:30am, and anytime on weekends, for walks, drop in visits, daycare, or boarding. If your schedule shifts last minute, just let me know, I'm flexible and happy to work around you. My home has a fully fenced yard, so your dog gets plenty of safe space to run and sniff to their heart's content. I also have one friendly dog of my own who loves making new friends. If your dog does best with a crate, I'm happy to use one, whatever keeps them comfortable is what we'll do.

“While I was away my dog decided it was the perfect time to have GI upset... Ashlee went above and beyond to help take care of her and did an amazing job communicating with me and cleaning up the mess. I'm so thankful for her and all her hard work.”

“Jenn is AMAZING we needed a last minute drop in for my four dogs and she was willing to do a meet and greet the night before and moved in my dogs like they were her own. She was great with all different ages and breads we have which is rare to find. My dogs were much happier when I came home from work and I could tell they had been loved on. We will be a reoccurring customer of hers as she has been such a blessing. I love knowing someone as AMAZING as Jenn is loving on my pups when I can’t.”

“We love having Kevin and Lisa drop in on our cat while we are away! They are so great about playing with him, taking cute photos, and keeping us updated on how he’s doing.”

“Angela is easily our go to sitter for all of our animals. She’s extremely responsive and always stays in constant communication with us. We always feel comfortable knowing she’s looking out for them!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - The Pinery
Kylie did a perfect job of caring for Leo and our house! She was amazingly good at giving him his pills, and I could tell he was very fond of his new buddy! She communicated clearly and took care of everything we needed. What a comfort to know that we could count on Kylie! We will definitely have her back, and probably go on more trips now! :-)

Makayla did a wonderful job caring for our cat. She was extremely responsive in her communication prior to our trip. While we were away, she sent detailed reports of her visits and lots of pictures. I had no concerns that my little kitty was having a nice time in her care. I will definitely hire her again in the future!!

Megan is the absolute best! Do not hesitate to book her to take care of your fur babies. We have a crew of pets that is a little… extra… a nervous pup, a spicy cat and a very old kitty. We’ve tried other sitters and this crew has been too much, but not for Megan. She watched them for an entire week, even putting up with our spicy kitty chasing after her for the first few days! She did it all with a positive attitude and even sent silly pictures on Christmas. She has a gift with pets - and made us feel so comfortable! Thank you, Megan for helping us have a great vacation without worry for our pets!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in The Pinery. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
