“Christina was awesome! Stayed in contact with us and sent tons of pictures and videos while we were gone for a WEEK! 100% will be using her services again. Thank you so much, Christina! 🐶🐈⬛💕”

“My impression is that dogs love being around Sam. Sam is very reliable, accommodating and responsible person. Also she has great understanding of pet’s needs and takes actions accordingly. It’s a fantastic quality when you can be sure that dog sitter would be able to anticipate your pet needs when you are away.”

About: Animals have been the center of my world for as long as I can remember. Growing up surrounded by dogs, cats, and bunnies, caretaking has always been second nature to me. As a former teacher, I am now leaning fully into my true passion, and bringing comfort and happiness to pets gives me so much genuine joy. Whether your family member is a high-energy pup, an independent cat, or a gentle senior who needs a patient touch and daily medication, I treat them with the exact same structure, love, and respect I would give my own. I can't wait to keep your furry best friends safe, happy, and thoroughly spoiled while you're away! Because my other part-time commitments total only 6 hours a week, my schedule is incredibly flexible, leaving me with plenty of open time to focus entirely on caring for your pets! Here is exactly when I am briefly away each week: Weekday Evenings (2 total): At a gym, I coach a few adult workout classes in the evenings. Sunday Mornings: I teach Sunday school to preschoolers for a brief session. Outside of these short windows, my days are completely open. This minimal schedule allows me to offer highly attentive, consistent care, adapt easily to your pet's normal routine, and provide plenty of companionship throughout the day! Whether welcoming a pet into my home or staying at yours, safety and clear structure are my top priorities. My home is a pet loving environment shared with my friendly dog and two cats. To ensure everyone feels secure and comfortable, I utilize sturdy pet gates to easily separate animals for quiet time or feeding, and I am more than happy to accommodate crating upon request. Because my part-time jobs take up only 6 hours a week, pets in my care receive constant supervision and a highly consistent routine. As a former educator, I am meticulous about following your exact instructions, maintaining strict safety boundaries, and keeping you updated with photos so you can relax knowing your furry family members are safe, respected, and thoroughly loved.
“Emma followed through from our initial meet and greet to her daytime and overnight visits, leaving us confident that our 11 y.o. dog was well cared for. We will definitely be working with Emma again, in fact we already have booked her for another weekend.”

“Words cannot explain how grateful I am for finding Sumintra. I had never used this app before but she made it exceed my expectations. She was very caring with my babies, she was always communicating everything to me and sending pictures and videos. It made me feel so peaceful and calm. I recommend Sumintra 100%. Eternally grateful.”

“Devynn was wonderful. I was on a cruise and didn’t have service so she made sure to keep in contact with my mom until I could check in. Mumfy seemed so happy. She sent pictures every day. I will definitely use her again.”

About: I treat every pet like family, offering personalized care and devoted attention to ensure they feel safe, loved, and truly at home while you're away. I can adjust my availability to accommodate specific requirements upon request, ensuring personalized attention and care for each pet’s unique needs and well-being, providing a comforting and secure experience. I prefer caring for pets in my home as it allows me to be more attentive, providing a loving environment that makes them feel at home and lessens their sense of their owner's absence. However, if the owner prefers, I can also visit their home to care for the pets, ensuring their comfort and routine are maintained.

“Seth spent a long weekend with our pups and cat and took great care of the animals and our home. His knowledge and empathy with animals is evident in his updates and communication.”

About: I have a cat Liam who I care for and I help my family care for their cats and dogs as well. I have pet sit/house sit for 3 years now. I'm consistent with my check ups and walkings/feedings. I stick to a schedule all the time. I'm also always all over the areas from Venice to Riverview, I can always do drop by, a quick walk. I'm flexible with my schedule to fit your pets needs, and any last minute bookings! I'm currently working at 2 jobs and still have free time for your pets! I work as a house cleaner and receptionist, I love staying active and just hanging out with animals. My desk job gives me 3-5 hours of an extended break Thu-Sunday. Outside of that I am I clean homes and offices around the Venice, Sarasota, and Bradenton Area. My family and I have 3 cats, Liam, Munchkin, and Sunni. We also have a chihuahua mixed, shes our oldest. I keep our pets on a feeding schedule and in charge of food and keeping it stocked. I am very strick about their feeding schedule and food quality. Before I even became a cat parent I did extensive research just trying to find the best quality and affordable food, litter, toys. I've always wanted the best for them and treat them as an baby. Our cats also love the outdoors so I also walk them, harnessed or off but they well enough to stay close when we walk. I've also taught Liam a few tricks for treats (he'll do almost anything for treats).
“Kiersten was amazing at house sitting for my two young dogs! She was very thorough at keeping to their daily routine and sending updates with pictures. I highly recommend Kiersten and plan to rebook in the future.”

“Rebecca is fantastic. She has been excellent to my italian greyhounds and my house is immaculate when she leaves. Very dependable!! Will absolutely use again!”

About: I’ve spent my whole life around dogs, and caring for them has always come naturally to me. While I’ve raised puppies—like my sweet girl River, who I had from 8 weeks old to 3 years—I’ve grown to love the rhythm and bond that comes with dogs at every stage of life. What sets me apart is a deep sense of patience, attentiveness, and love that comes from years of hands-on experience. I’m especially comfortable with routines, emotional needs, and making sure your dog feels safe and cared for while you’re away. Whether your dog is energetic, mellow, senior, or somewhere in between, I show up with calm energy, genuine care, and a heart full of love for every pup I meet. I currently work remote so I have the flexibility to go on walks during the afternoon, evening, early morning or whenever they need to go out! I’m currently in an house with no other pets. I have plenty of room for them to hangout and feel safe. I’ll make sure they get lots of cuddles and walks.
“Tara is amazing! She took such good care of our 2 dachshunds and our house while we were away. She followed their schedule and sent us daily updates with pictures. Our dogs absolutely loved her! Highly recommend! Thanks Brooke!”

“Debbie took great care of Moxie. I'm always nervous leaving my girl with a new sitter, but Debbie put me right at ease. Her two dogs are sweet and calm and it was great for Moxie to have companions. If your dog is nervous, she has ways to keep them separated. I appreciated the daily updates, photos, and videos and reassurance so I could relax and enjoy my business trip. I will definitely leave Moxie in Debbie's care again.”

“Usually I travel with my German Shepard and Doxie but this past Christmas break I knew I wanted to travel without them but I was skeptical about leaving them with anyone else. I reached out to many people on Rover but after meeting Danielle I felt comfortable making the decision to having her stay at our home to house sit and watch both dogs. Needless to say, she did not disappoint. I received many updates and pics that let me actually enjoy my vacation instead of worrying or feeling guilty. I would highly recommend Danielle!”

Tara was absolutely amazing with my senior dog, Albert. He has several medical conditions, including patellar luxation, anxiety, and ongoing eye issues that require medication, so finding someone I trust is incredibly important. As a veterinary technician, Tara immediately put me at ease with her knowledge and professionalism. Throughout the evening she sent frequent updates and photos, asked thoughtful questions about his care, and never made assumptions. I especially appreciated that she asked whether Albert could safely get off the bed himself or if she should lift him because of his patellar luxation. She also administered his eye medication, kept me updated during a thunderstorm, and even put on calming music to help him relax. The next morning, Tara checked in to make sure Albert was doing well after we got home, which really showed how much she cares. She treated him like he was her own, and I had complete peace of mind knowing he was in her care. I highly recommend Tara, especially if your pet has medical needs or needs someone who will go above and beyond.

Cassie cared for our dog Cooper at our home while we attended our son’s wedding. She kept in constant communication and sent many photos. We were so happy to see Cooper relax and even cuddle with her. Knowing she stayed with him put us completely at ease. We highly recommend Cassie and will definitely contact her again for future travel.

Cameron was so helpful when our flights were delayed. He always goes above and beyond but this was way beyond. Originally we were supposed to be home early afternoon, but after our Spirit flight got cancelled he stayed until early evening. We finally arrived home 4:00am the flowing morning. Knowing they wouldn’t be alone for too much of an extended period was comforting. Thank you Cameron!

There isn’t enough room to express how amazing Nicole is! She went above and beyond to make sure this dog mama felt secure with leaving her animals! Pictures every day along with amazing communication. She even left holiday cards with pictures of our babies. Nicole is the only person I want to watch my “kids” from here out. My only concern is my animals might start to love her more than my husband and I.

My wife and I would highly recommend Ashlee. Sophie, our cocker spaniel, seem to be in great health and appeared to enjoy being around Ashley. She was prompt and sent photos of Sophie to us every day. Additionally, before we got home, she had washed her bed linens and they were fresh and clean in our dryer. The house was spotless when we got back as well. Once again, we would highly recommend her and plan on using her again in the future.
Michaela took awesome care of our 2 dogs while we were away. She stayed at our home and everything looked great and pups were fine when we returned. She was able to come over and meet our dogs and do a quick walkthrough before booking which made us feel more comfortable. We will definitely be booking with her in the future! Thanks Michaela!

Alexis was reliable and even met us before we left to go over directions in person. She was as fkexible as could be when our flights changed. She sent updates throughout to let us know our puppies were doing good. We are happy we found a trustworthy sitter for our babies. Thank you Alexis 😊

FAQs for House Sitting - The Meadows
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in The Meadows on Rover is $49.98 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 2,065 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across The Meadows. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred The Meadows walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in The Meadows maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in The Meadows choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in The Meadows. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
