About: I have a huge love for animals and I tend to be able to bond with them very well. I have two dogs of my own at home, a border collie and a havanese. I’ve had dogs in my home for the majority of my life, and even before that I had been around dogs a lot, as all of my extended family owns dogs. That being said, I know my profile says I do take puppies under a year old, however they must be house trained and able to be left alone for a bit as I am not always able to be in the house 24/7, though I do stay with them as much as possible. I tend to work on a case to case basis for puppies as well as senior dogs. I spent a year volunteering at a local animal shelter where I learned a lot about how to work with cats, and have since cat sat for a friend multiple times over the years. I worked at a kennel with dogs for three months during a summer vacation as well, and I worked at a local dog daycare for almost a year. All of my experience has furthered my knowledge with animal behavior. I recently graduated from the University of Washington and am currently looking for a job! So, for the time being, I am able to be home with your pets almost always. Once I find a full time job, we can discuss a schedule that works for both me and your pets! I will make sure that, since I will be in the animals’ space, I will be respectful of their area and yours as well. I will stick to their normal routine as best as I can and make sure that they are comfortable around me.
About: Hi! For the past decade, I’ve been caring for dogs of all ages and sizes in my warm, spacious Blackhawk home. I also do dog walks and drop in visit for those pups that need care in their own home. There’s a yard with plenty of room to run, play, and explore at my house, and I make sure every dog feels like part of the family. Whether it’s snuggles on the couch, fun playtime, or relaxing walks, your pup will receive lots of love and attention. I have excellent references from happy pet parents in the Blackhawk/Danville area, and my husband, sweet 13-year-old son and friendly 4-year-old Shih Tzu love welcoming new furry friends! Your pup will have lots of company, attention, and care throughout the day. I truly love having dogs by my side—whether it’s snuggles, playtime in the yard, or plenty of walks around the neighborhood. Every dog who stays with me is treated like family. Drop off and pick up only between 7 am and 7 pm. No Late pick ups please. I can also do local dog walks and drop in visits at your home. When caring for pets in my home, I always aim to keep them on the same routine and schedule they’re used to, helping them feel comfortable and at ease. I know how important consistency is for dogs, so I’m happy to follow their usual feeding times, walk schedules, and any special care instructions you provide. Whether your pup loves early morning walks, afternoon playtime, or quiet evening cuddles, I’ll make sure their day feels familiar and happy. My goal is to make their time with me feel like a true home away from home, filled with love, attention, and plenty of tail wags!
“Julia is awesome! I am new to the Las Vegas area and needed to find someone reliable and patient to take care of my dog on occasion. George is extremely skittish and takes a long time to trust new people. I am also very neurotic about the care he receives since he’s so particular. Julia happily came over to do a meet & greet with me & George and then also came back a separate time to see how George would respond in my absence. She’s been back for drop in visits. She was very communicative and gave great detail about the visit and George’s behavior. She is definitely someone I trust with my fur baby.”

“Eric was flexible and reliable, and was willing to administer medicine. He completely charmed our shy senior kitty. Lots of cute photos showed she was happy being petted and brushed while we were away. We highly recommend Eric!”

“Sahar took wonderful care of our little cat and did everything we asked. She arrived on time, followed all of our feeding instructions, and kept the litter box clean. We would happily have Sahar pet sit for us again and highly recommend her!”

About: Animals are my whole world and have been for my whole life! I’ve owned a large variety of animals, including dogs, rabbits, birds, and mice. I also gained a lot of experience working at a pet store, where I worked with more species of animals than I can name! I learned skills such as bottle feeding kittens and socializing scared dogs. I’ve spent years surrounding myself with all sorts of animals, whether that be through fostering kittens, dog walking, or pet sitting. I can’t wait to hang out with your furry friends! I’m currently looking for a part time job for the summer, but as of right now, I have no plans! I have plenty of time to take care of your animals! As of right now, I am only able to care for pets in my client’s homes. I will follow any instructions you give me! I can stay with your pets all day or provide drop in services, whatever you’d like!

About: As the owner of four cats, I have daily hands-on experience providing consistent, attentive care to animals. Caring for multiple pets has taught me to be patient, reliable, and attentive to each animal's unique needs and personality. While my personal experience has been with cats, I'm comfortable caring for dogs by following their established routines, including feeding, walks, playtime, potty breaks, and providing plenty of love and attention. I'll treat your dog with the same care and dedication I give my own pets! I'm currently a graduate student, which gives me a flexible schedule for pet care throughout the week. I keep my availability up to date and do my best to accommodate your pet's routine, whether that's morning walks, midday drop-ins, or evening visits. I believe consistency is important, so I'll always communicate clearly and provide dependable, attentive care while you're away. Your pet's comfort, safety, and well-being are always my top priorities. Since I'm entering their space, I believe it's important to let each pet take the lead. I take the time to build trust at their own pace and never force interactions or affection. Every pet has a unique personality, and I respect their individual needs and boundaries. I'll follow your pet's routine as closely as possible, whether that includes feeding, walks, playtime, potty breaks, medication (if needed), or simply providing companionship. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away by maintaining the consistency they're used to. As a pet owner myself, I understand how much trust it takes to leave your furry family member in someone else's care. That's why I'll keep you updated with photos and messages throughout each visit, so you can have peace of mind knowing they're happy, safe, and receiving the same level of care and attention I'd want for my own pets.
“I'd like to express my sincere gratitude to Sophie for taking such wonderful care of our 16-year-old cat, Varia. Leaving a senior cat for 10 days was nerve-wracking, but Sophie's regular updates and photos put me completely at ease. Sophie was incredibly attentive and patient with Varia, who, due to her age, can be a bit grumpy, messy and set in her ways. Sophie followed my instructions to the letter, and even went above and beyond by taking care of some litter box incidents. It was clear that Sophie genuinely cared about Varia's well-being, and I'm so grateful for the help. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate pet sitter.”

“Mitchell did a great job handling our 2 (somewhat unfriendly to strangers) energetic dogs. He was prompt, provided many pictures of walking the dogs, and the dogs came home relaxed & happy. We will be using Mitchell again!”

“Dakota was great! Prompt, took lots of pics and the boys loved spending time with him! He is also able to walk to hyper corgis at the same time and that says a lot! ? thank you!!”
“We booked a sitter through Rover for the first time for a long time period and were a little nervous about leaving Missy alone, but Xiaoyu was absolutely wonderful. From the very beginning, she made sure Missy felt comfortable, loved, and well cared for. Xiaoyu followed all the instructions we discussed and truly went above and beyond to make sure Missy didn’t miss us. After just a few visits, it was clear that Missy looked forward to seeing her, which gave us so much peace of mind. I would highly recommend Xiaoyu to anyone looking for a dedicated, trustworthy, and caring sitter—and a true friend—for their fur baby. 🐾💛”

About: My name is Georgia and I love all types of animals especially dogs. Ever since I was 14, I had my first dog I've been taking him for walks and taking good care of him until we got another dog, I'm really good at taking multiple dogs on walks I'm very patient with them and I love their company. I am very patient with cats as well I'm very calm with them since I pet sat cats for 10+ years and I always make sure that they are happy both dogs and cats or whatever animal you have I'll make sure they're happy. I'm free all the time so taking care of pets is going to be easy I put animals over everything I adore them so much Safety and building trust in a dog's environment is very important. We have a huge yard at my house and I live on a private road in the country, I keep my dog on a leash outside.

“I met Surjit in the Peace Corps and since day one she’s shown a tremendous quality of being a dependable friend. She’s charismatic, she’s thoughtful, and she’s an extremely loving caretaker. When my dog Darwin first met her, his eyes lit up and his pupils went wide with love for her as they continue to do so every time they get together and forget I’m even there. She’s one of the very few people who I trust enough to take care of Darwin and they continue to bond in a way I don’t really see with other people since, even though my dog is very cute, I think he knows it and can be a bit antisocial and aloof. But Surjit sees him and fully accepts him for who he is, as I see her do with all pets in her life. I happily endorse Surjit because I know that she does not just see your pet as a dog or a cat, she sees them as individuals with their own personalities, fears, habits, wants, and needs. I happily endorse Surjit because I know that she will, without a doubt, go above and beyond and take care of your pet like she takes care of her own family and friends.”

“Tasha is an amazing dog walker! Her love for animals shines through in everything she does. Azul adores her and always has a blast on their walks. She’s reliable, caring, and great at keeping me updated. If you want someone who treats your dog like family, Tasha’s the one!”

“Kristen took care of our Sadie-dog, who has some separation anxiety, and Sadie loved her drop-in visits from Kristen. Thank you for being a friend to her while her family was away!”

About: I've taken care of close family friends dogs and I've worked at a pet resort for dogs and other animals. You can trust me to treat them with so much love and give them their basic needs and anything else you'd like for me to do with them (: I currently work with dogs full time with a schedule and I will work around the schedule and when it comes to your fur baby I prioritize them first before working with other dogs. I do not have pets of my own but because I've taken care of others and worked at a pet resort for dogs and other animals I know what's needed to be done. I know dog behavior, feedings, medicine, how often they should go use the bathroom, etc.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Tassajara
Jana and Ryan are a very kind and caring husband and wife team! They took care of our bunny Gilbert and Cat Liam very well over the weekend for drop in visits. They followed feeding and play time needs perfectly. We got updates and cute pics assuring us our animals were well taken care of when we were gone. We will definitely be booking them again. Thank you!

Overall Paige was pleasant to work with. She was kind and sent some pictures of our cats, and spent the full hour with our pets. We had some concerns about her not adhering to the requested time of day for visits and the amount of food she gave our cats despite our written out directions. Our cats ran out of food less than 4 hours after she left and it should have been enough to sustain them for a full day. When alerting Paige of this she reassured us she would arrive earlier to feed them, but instead showed up almost two hours late. This meant she almost missed the window before the guest access code to our home expired. We appreciate her taking time to play and care for our cats but we do have some reservations about rebooking in the future.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
