“Michael was great with our very energetic doodle Cooper. He was very reliable and great with communication. I loved receiving all the updates each day which made me feel at ease while we were away on vacation.”

“Erin has been an amazing daily walker for our dog Penny! She is always very responsive and reliable, and super sweet with our girl. Penny also recently spent the weekend boarding at Erin’s house, and she was treated very well and made some new friends! We will definitely continue to use Erin for taking care of our puppy.”

About: Hello! My name is Lauren and I have been taking care of animals on and off since I was a little girl. I have sat for puppies, seniors, cats, dogs, and everything in between. I have a bird and three dogs of my own, including a Saint Bernard. I love animals and I am hoping to get to meet some new ones. Right now, I am home from college in Seattle for the summer. I am currently taking bookings for any day of the week and at any time! Because of my flexible schedule, I am able to take pets on walks/potty breaks as often as needed. I always make an effort to tidy up toys or the home in general before leaving and I am very comfortable crating/feeding/playing with dogs of any size.
About: Training my two aussie shepherd girls is a passion of mine, we herd sheep a couple times a week. I am proud to say I can keep up with them, although raising an aussie puppy is not for the faint of heart! They deserve adventures so I take them to new places with new smells and I would be happy to help your pup experience the world in a new way too! If you're not comfortable with that, they are safe in my home too 💚 Pet care is a full-time job and I treat it as such. Fur babies in my home get enrichment via toys, puzzles, treats and exercise- happy to train your doggo under 90lbs to use our treadmill! We go out to herd a few times a week and get outdoors every day, rain or shine :) My pets are my family. They deserve to be safe, healthy, and comfortable. I understand that it is a deep honor to afford them the freedom and attention they deserve and I dont take the responsibility lightly.
About: I've been an animal person my entire life. When I was in grad school at Western several years ago, I worked part-time for a local pet-sitting business, The Placid Pet, where I enjoyed four wonderful years of looking after client dogs and cats. Currently, I am a full-time writer seeking healthy activities to supplement the hours I spend in front of a computer. What better way to get that activity than to hang out with awesome dogs and provide my fellow Bellinghamsters with the peace of mind that comes with knowing your furry family member is happy and well taken care of? As a former college athlete and life-long hiker, I'm in good shape for whatever activity your dog needs. I'm available for short or long walks in your neighborhood or at a nearby park or trail of your choosing, and I'm also happy to stop in and snuggle with your anxious pet for as long as he or she needs. I've taken an animal CPR training course in the past and plan a refresher course in the near future. Your dog's health and well-being is of utmost importance to me, and as a former professional dog walker, I have the skills and experience to keep your pet safe and happy during my visits. As a writer, my time is flexible, so I can be available in the mornings, at lunch, or in the early afternoon on a regular basis. I coach soccer on the weekends, but an occasional Sunday visit might be possible as needed. I am experienced entering client homes to render service, and as someone who has lived with escape-artist pets, I am also accustomed to entering homes carefully to make sure even the wiliest of pets doesn't escape. My car has a dog gate in back so that your pet can travel safely, should you choose for me to take them to a park or trail.

About: I have over 5 years of dog walking experience and have been a pet lover my whole life! I look forward to helping your animals thrive and love life even more!! I have a very flexible schedule but between 7:30 am and 7 pm work best for me to watch over and care for your pets! Don’t feel afraid to reach out for scheduling outside of my preferred times though! I have an extremely friendly shepsky who would always love to join me while walking your dog(s) or taking care of your cats and/or dogs but he is 100lbs so I will always ask if that’s conducive with your wants and needs!
“Heather is the real dog whisperer! I was in a pickle and needed a new sitter ASAP. Recommended by my neighbor, I reached out 24 hours hours before leaving. After a very quick response, she was here and meeting the fam. Three dogs with three vastly different personalities, she won over the toughest cookie of the bunch within 24 hours. I finally found someone I feel 100% comfortable with when I travel! So very grateful to have find this gem of a human. If you need a sitter - stop looking. She's the one!”

About: Since I was a young girl, I have loved to pet sit for dogs, cats, birds, chickens, and even cows! For dogs, I have administered medications, walked, fed, and played with them to their heart's content! I also have my very own cat that I adore so very much and I want all pets to feel that love. I am currently on a flexible work schedule, so I will be able to take care of your pets at your convenience. I do prefer dog-walking in the morning, but all other services throughout the day. I will not be able to bring your dogs over to my place, but I can make sure that they are safe in your home. I care for pets as if they are my own as a pet owner myself. I am an anxious and overly protective owner, so I can ensure proper safety and abide by the owners wishes.

About: I have grown up in a house full of cats and dogs, so I am no stranger to the late night zoomies or hairball. I have dog and cat sit my whole life and still love it! I am currently unemployed and doing side hustles, I have the time to dog walk, cat sit and stay the night if needed! I would love to take care of your pets! I live in a spacious apartment but prefer to pet sit at the clients place. I have one cat at home and have raised her since she kitten.
“Lizz saved the day for us! We had a family emergency come up and had to leave town last minute. Lizz was able to cover all the walks in our absence. She gave us great feedback and won over our shy pup. Highly recommend.”

About: I have owned and taken care of pets since I was a little kid, ranging from mini Australian shepherds to retrievers, labs and German shepherds. This means I have experience training young puppies and taking care of senior dogs. I also have experience with taking dogs on runs (since I love to run), which helps with high-energy dogs. I love dogs and am more than happy to help other people with pet care since I know finding the right person for the job can be difficult. :) I’m a teacher so this summer I’m earning some extra cash by nannying and dogsitting. I’m available 4-5 days a week including the weekends (and have no problem helping in the early mornings and late nights), so my schedule is pretty flexible and I’m very willing to fit multiple in-house visits and dog walking/running into my routine. I care for pets in my clients’ homes so I am skilled in giving all pets the attention they need both inside and outside the home, including playing with them, taking them on walks and runs, or just sitting down and keeping them company depending on the age and needs they require. I take pride in fulfilling all pets’ routines and owners’ expectations.
“Autumn took great care of our dog, Jasper! She walked him within the right timeframe, gave great notes, and took great care of him. He was super tired when we got home :-). I’d highly recommend Autumn, and will definitely have her walk Jasper again soon!”

About: Hi there! I'm hoping to make some new furry friends. I’m a social worker who works 8:30-5pm Tuesday-Friday. I enjoy long walks or just chilling at home playing in the yard. I've cared for many dogs in the past and I feel very comfortable with them. I grew up with a big German Shepard. I've worked as an in-home caregiver, so I am used to coming into new homes and house-sitting, if that is what you need. I’ve trained as a yoga meditation teacher and I have a calm and gentle, non-threatening personality, which dogs respond well and curiously to. I hope I can meet your pup soon! Thanks! I have a flexible work schedule, often driving all over SE Whatcom County. Would love to walk your dog or just check in in the during the day. I will treat your home with respect and follow any expectations set for the best possible situation for your pet. I am used to home visits and in home caregiving.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Sudden Valley
We have a reactive and anxious dog, and I’m always nervous to leave her with new people. As soon as I met Michael I felt totally comfortable with him caring for my dog. He took the time to get to know her with a couple drop in visits before watching her for a weekend. He listens to instructions well and you can definitely tell he loves all animals. We will continue to use Michael for daily walks and when we are out of town.

Matthew did a great job walking our dog Mulligan. he was prompt, communicative, and Mully took to him quickly. each time Matthew came over, Mully got really happy and bouncy as soon as he saw Matthew coming up the patio steps. and each time he returned with a big doggy smile on his face, then promptly fell in to a deep sleep that only comes after a great walk. :) we will definitely use Matthew again if we need walking help with Mully.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
