About: Hello fellow animal lovers! I grew up with both cats and dogs - over 20 years with both and I love them all. From a Shetland sheep dog to a Great Dane to lovely shelter mutts, I love getting to know pups' unique personalities. I also have a special talent for winning over standoffish cats - just give me a couple of days. About me - I'm and education and training professional working a hybrid job based out of Portland, Maine. From northern California originally, I love exploring the coast, traveling, reading, and sketching & painting (poorly - but no one says you have to be good at your hobbies!). I travel too much to have a pet of my own right now, so I hope you'll let me play with yours! I work a hybrid job, meaning my schedule allows for full-time with your pets Thursday evenings through Monday evenings (in the office Tuesday through Thursdays). I am happy to discuss specific needs and schedules with each client. I will do everything I can to provide safety and comfort for your pets while you are away. If you'd like any addition house care for your home (e.g., watering plants, picking up mail) please let me know! Outside of caring for your pets, I am open for general house sitting.

“Stephanie is super reliable and take extra good care to make my nervous dog feel comfortable. I get regular photo updates and can tell that my pup is in good hands.”

About: I have been around animals my entire life. I grew up in Alaska raising ducks, chickens, rabbits…even a ferret! I’ve always had dogs and a cats. I currently live with a senior pup and a young cat. We have several backyard chickens too! I worked as a professional dog walker/pet sitter for a number of years in Connecticut. I’m used to being outside rain or shine. I also know the importance of being able to adapt to each pets’ individual needs including special diets or medication. I work from home with a lot of flexibility so with proper planning and coordination I can be there to meet you and your furry friends’ needs. I have a fenced yard and a dog who doesn’t mind the company of other well socialized animals. We do have a cat and small child so please consider that before booking. If staying at your home, I will treat it just as my own with respect and consideration for you and your family and your privacy.

“Madeleine was great! She communicated with me while I was gone about my dog and daily activities. She also left the house spotless and washed the sheets and towels. I will definitely use her again to watch my dog and house sit:)”

“Sergey was great! We hired him for house/dog sitting while we were away for a long weekend and he made it so easy for us. The dogs liked him, and he clearly gave them a lot of attention. When we came home the house was spotless. You would have had no idea someone had been staying there for 4 days. He was very easy to get ahold of, and followed up a few days before the booking to confirm and schedule a second meet & greet. Would absolutely recommend.”

“Bret accepted our short notice booking and stopped by for a meet & greet before we headed out for a weekend trip, which was great. Our pets are currently pretty low maintenance but it was important for us to have someone stay the weekend while we had some R&R. We’d have Bret back on a future vacation.”

“Crystal watched my pup for a weekend when I took a last-minute trip out of town. She was communicative and sent pictures of my happy dog throughout the weekend, which made me feel so at ease. I came home to a relaxed dog and my apartment was even cleaner than when I left it! Would hire Crystal again.”

“I cannot recommend Ryan highly enough! Leaving my high-needs, anxious dog for a work trip is always a source of stress, but Ryan completely put my mind at ease. From our initial meet-and-greet, it was clear that Ryan is not only a true animal lover but also incredibly knowledgeable and patient. My dog requires a lot of extra attention and can be quite nervous with new people, but Ryan handled him with such a calm and confident demeanor. I received regular updates, including photos that showed my dog was not just being cared for, but was comfortable in Ryan's hands. This consistent communication was invaluable and allowed me to focus on my work knowing Oliver was okay. Ryan went above and beyond to alleviate his anxiety and let him have the space he need to feel comfortable. I returned home to a happy, relaxed dog, which is the best indicator of the excellent care he received. In addition, the house was spotless which is always nice to return home too. If you're looking for a pet sitter who is reliable, compassionate, and truly understands how to care for anxious or high-needs pets, Ryan is absolutely the one to choose.”

Katey B.
Star Sitter

“Katey Blevens was my pet sitter for several years. I had some very old, very sick animals. She was always professional and was very good at caring for my old, ill animals. When I got a younger dog, she took him to the dog park, on long walks and to play dates and training classes on her own, with my permission, of course. We all miss her because she was so dependable and loved our animals as if they were her own. She is 100% trustworthy. Your pets will thank you!”

Samuel L.
“Sam cares for my 10 month old cockapoo Haruki. He walks "Ru" regularly and has housesat on several occasions. "Ru" absolutely adores Sam! Sam's has had animals all his life and it shows in the way he relates to them! Ru can be a "spirited puppy" and Sam has been able to masterfully engage him. Sam is punctual, trustworthy and easy to work with.”

Sarah S.
“Jay is incredible! My dog is sensitive and reactive, and she can be a challenge for dog sitters (hunger strike, anxiety barking etc). But now, when she sees Jay’s car pull up, she gets wiggly and excited because she knows her friend is here! I can tell that have a great time together, and when I’m back, my dog isn’t extra nervous or clingy. Jay has significant experience with anxious and reactive dogs, and has a really smooth, calming presence that really seems to put my dog at ease. Jay is also very responsive and great providing updates while I’m away. I trust Jay to care for my sweet pup, and could not recommend more highly!”

Stroudwater pet parents share their Rover experiences
Shannon was wonderful! It was such a pleasure meeting her through this process. She was extremely responsible and made me feel so good about leaving my two dogs. when the dogs first met her, they took to her right away. During my vacation, I got periodic updates and pictures of the dogs, which was so appreciated. In addition, we asked Shannon to do just a couple things around the house like empty the dehumidifier (it was the hot summer months) and get the mail. She left our home very clean!! Pretty sure she vacuumed 😉 I would trust Shannon with my doggies and my home again…in a heartbeat!!

Devyn was very kind and attentive to our dog Merle! Great communication and truly enjoyed being at our home on an island and taking care of him. She walked him and fed him and followed everything that we talked about before we left. I will definitely have her again and would recommend her any time to care of your dog! Definitely made everything stress free! Thank you!! Merci Devyn!! A la prochaine!!

I cannot recommend Ryan enough! She dog sat for my two fur babies and was an absolute pleasure to work with. Responsive, communicative, kind, respectful, and a calming force - the perfect care taker for my two high energy, very spoiled dogs. We look forward to booking her again soon!

This was the first time Alena stayed with our very energetic Boxer, Sofie, and everything went perfectly! Alena walked Sofie every day, played ball with her, and gave us daily brief updates including multiple pictures and/or videos while we were away which we so appreciated. We will definitely ask her to dog sit in the future!

Kate was an incredible caretaker for our pup! She quickly bonded with Juniper, and clearly provided quality exercise and attention. She also gave us helpful updates and sweet pictures over the weekend. We would highly recommend her, and definitely would ask her to dig it in the future!

The second Silvia stepped out of her car for the meeting, my dog loved her...and that's saying a lot, because he doesn't get along with every human. Silvia has a great personality, and my dog sensed it right away. She was great at getting to know Oliver's schedule and preferences. And she sent me lots of pictures and communicated when she had questions. Oliver had a great time, and I'd definitely ask Silvia back.

Audrey provided excellent overnight care for our two German Shepherds at our home. It is clear that she loves dogs and offers them comfort and affection when owners are away, and she was such a lovely and courteous houseguest in our home. She updated us with gorgeous photos of our dogs' adventures while we were away. We are grateful to Audrey, and would offer our highest recommendation to anyone in need of her services.
