“Madeline the best dogsitter I’ve ever had. My pup, Piglet, is slow to warm up and incredibly anxious and Madeline went above and beyond to meet Piglet on her terms and make her comfortable. They quickly became best friends. Madeline was super communicative with me, sending updates and pictures and you could tell she truly loved Piglet even though it was her first time watching her. She also did great at walking her, giving her meals twice a day and her complex array of medications. And she left my house cleaner and nicer than I left it for her. I cannot recommend Madeline enough.”

“Destiny was great and I will totally hire her again! My dog takes a bit to warm up to people and she was so patient and understanding of Kona. She also left my place tidy and clean! Great communication and felt very comfortable leaving Kona while I was away!”

“Viva is a wonderful communicator, consistently sending photos and videos of my happy pup. This is my second booking with her. She’s reliable, has high energy and my home looks like she hasn’t been here. 🙂 Highly recommend viva and will continue to book with her.”

“Megan stayed with our dog, Margot, and was excellent. Our dog can be unfriendly to other dogs and Megan followed our instructions to a tee! I can’t recommend her enough. Margot was happy and healthy when we returned and Megan was communicative with photos throughout the stay. So happy we booked Megan!”

“Elise was so caring and supportive of our pup, Juniper! She provided us with really lovely photos and updates, and clearly made Juniper feel safe and loved. We highly recommend her!”

About: I bring a high level of experience caring for dogs with different personalities, energy levels, and routines. I’m comfortable handling everything from structured walks and feeding schedules to medications and special care needs. My goal is always the same: dependable care, clear communication, and a happy, well-cared-for dog. Working from home allows me to offer flexible scheduling and near constant supervision, ensuring that your dog receives attentive, reliable care and plenty of interaction. I prioritize safety, consistency, and a calm environment in every aspect of care. I closely follow each dog’s routine, including feeding instructions, walk preferences, and any special needs. My home is clean, dog safe, and supervised throughout the day, and when caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect their space and maintain the same level of attentiveness. I always use secure leashes, monitor interactions carefully, and communicate regularly with updates for peace of mind.
“Yiran took great care of our dog Trudy! She sent us lots of updates, asked questions as needed, and we could trust that Trudy was in good hands with her.”

About: Have grown up with dogs in my house my whole life and have always been a call away for neighbors and loved ones for help! Love pups and excited to meet some new friends! I work as a server so I have a little bit of a weird schedule but leaves my days open during the week so super helpful if you need walking at all during your work day! Available weekends as well mostly in the mornings before my shifts. Taking the dogs out for walks feels like a reward for both of us and love to spend the time outside! I live in a quiet relaxed apartment with a roomate who loves dogs as well, right by eastern prom so big area for walks there. Will be able to be present with the dog in the house full time while they are there with lots of walks throughout the day and lots of love as well!
“Bret accepted our short notice booking and stopped by for a meet & greet before we headed out for a weekend trip, which was great. Our pets are currently pretty low maintenance but it was important for us to have someone stay the weekend while we had some R&R. We’d have Bret back on a future vacation.”
“Nishat was very accommodating considering we kept on changing the plan for the time we were leaving the day she was coming. She always takes great care of our animals!”

“Lucy is so thoughtful and sweet. She let me know what her and my pup were up to while I was away, and he was a very happy and safe pup when I got home. I would highly recommend Lucy.”
“Miranda was amazing! I was so nervous having a house sitter to watch my dog for the first time but Miranda made it such a good experience. She communicated with me so well before and during my trip and put my nerves at ease. She gave me daily updates and photos/videos and did so well with my dogs medications and eye drops. I’m so happy that Miranda was available to watch my dog and I’ll be forever grateful that the experience went smoother than could’ve wished for. I’ll definitely book with Miranda again in the future for any of our dog sitting/dog walking needs.”

“Leighana was great! My dog's loved having her at the house. She communicated with me just the way I wanted. We all are looking forward to having her here again!”

Whether I am managing complex medication schedules for a senior cat or dog or carving out time for their exercise, my priority is their safety and comfort. It’s important to me to ensure your home stays secure, tidy, and lived-in while you’re away, which might mean managing mail or keeping your plants watered.

“Jamie was a fantastic sitter for my dog Oscar. She will be my go to from this point forward. She was communicative from the point of inquiry through until the end of the booking. She sent regular updates with photos and was happy to respond to any inquiries in between updates. She was respectful of our home and I came back to a well exercised and relaxed pup! It is difficult to trust someone with your animal but Jamie definitely has both mine and Oscars! We can't wait to use her services again!”

As a med student, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to plan my classes around pet care. I’m available for walks, drop-ins, and sitting throughout the week. About: Willing to walk most nights a week Worked with large dogs (mainly Great Danes) Have worked with a reactive dog (Family Pet) Dog was reactive on lease with other dogs. When walking I had to be very aware of other dogs that were around and had to be able to move quick when I did see a dog also had treats to distract him from the other dogs. Any time after 4:00 on weekdays due to other job Saturdays: 7 AM - 10 AM and 6:30 PM - 9 PM Sundays: All Day I care for my parents dog and love him very much, when I watch him we usually will hang out in the house or go to the dog park because that is where my parents take him. When I watch someone else dog I like to follow their rules and listen to what they are asking of me. I have watched my sister's dog who is reactive and when watching him I have made sure that I am aware of what he is doing, what I am doing and what is around me. Personally I don't think that the way I care for my parents and families pets would be different from a clients because all pets should be loved!
Downtown pet parents share their Rover experiences
Our dog Midi is 12 years old, is blind, has some mobility issues, and is mostly deaf. She can be very particular in her needs for care because of this. Viva was absolutely an angel caring for midi and was very careful with all of her needs. She communicated with us throughout the pet sitting and the best part was she treated our dog with so much love and care.

Bryan has housesat for us multiple times and is just incredible with our dog. He sends updates regularly so we always feel like we are in the know. Our dog is usually very shy of others but she loves him. Bryan is excellent and we are so grateful to him for all he has done for us!

Meagan was great!- she saved me from a travel nightmare when i lost my petsitter due to airline cancellations & rebooking. She accommodated my schedule last-minute, had no problem administering meds to my hyperthyroid cat (and didn’t blink at my 3+ page pet-sitting instructions, which have gotten embarrassingly long & detailed), & endured all of my anxiety and (likely too frequent & annoying) check ins & inquiries about their welfare while I was away with good humor & kindness. The cats seemed happy & calm when i returned after a week away, which is all I really care about!- but she also was very respectful of my home, leaving everything clean & in order, even washing the linens & towels (which I consider above & beyond, but is certainly appreciated)! I will definitely seek out Meagan’s assistance with my kitties again, & absolutely recommend her to anyone in & around Portland looking for trusted help with their pets 🙏❤️🐱🐱❤️

Cleo appreciated all the love and attention and I appreciated how dedicated Beth was (making sure Cleo had her meds on time as well as lots of love while I was away). She was super flexible when my plans changed and went above and beyond to look out for Cleo.
