“I definitely recommend Catey, particularly if your quadrupedal babes tend toward anxiety or need confident medication administration. This is the first sitter I've ever hired who wasn't already familiar with my cats and our home. I was nervous because of my boys needs medicated eye drops every 12 hours, which isn't his favorite thing by far, and he also generally takes a while to get comfortable with new people. Catey's super calm and solid demeanor was evident from the get-go, and this helped my boy a lot. Meds went off without a problem. Everything that needed doing for both cats was done, and my boys were chill as can be when I returned home. Catey was also super communicative and seemed like a solid, kind person in general. About: I’ve been an animal lover for my whole life! I have experience with dogs of many sizes and breeds, cats, cows, and chickens. Walking dogs is one of my favorite things to do. I have worked for a dog walking company for the past 3 years. Also, I have worked on multiple farms where I’ve cared for farm animals and dogs/cats. I will care for your pet as if they were my own! I’m working a remote part-time job which leaves me with plenty of time to walk dogs throughout the day and in the evening. Additionally, I have a very flexible schedule on the weekends. About: I raised, trained, and cared for my family dog from a puppy when I was in high school. Post college I adopted a senior dog and cared for him for the last couple of years of his life. In the meantime I have been a sitter for friends and family dogs and cats over the years. I am used to giving medications (even when it needs to be disguised) and staying on a feeding schedules. I am very up for caring for senior dogs who want to lay around the house, and equally ready to go on long walks with a dog with more energy. I work from home always, so will be around during the day for pups who like to hang! I'm on the East End of Portland with the Eastern Prom very close by so plenty of places to walk and explore. I am usually out and about in the evenings for a few hours at a time. On the weekends I like to be busy, but can certainly adjust my time when I have a dog or cat around. I have a large one bedroom, and am on the 3rd floor. So my place is likely not good for pets with mobility issues (unless they are small enough that I can carry them). I live very close to lots of nature easily accessible and make a point to get outside often.

About: I have been a pet carer since I could hold a spoon and scoop cat food onto a plate. My family had two cats for my entire childhood; they lived to 18 and 19 years old! I have cat-sat for friends and family for all my life and through this have become extremely comfortable with cats—from the grumpy to the cuddly. I have given cats medicine in most forms that don't require a certification (pills, syringe, in food, inhalers, ointments... just no injections!) and have sitted for kittens, cats with illnesses like chronic respiratory issues, cancer, and severe skin allergies, and have no queasiness when it comes to the realities of life with cats! With dogs, I have more of the proper pet-sitting experience. That has really ramped up in the last year, since we moved to Portland and into an apartment that is pet-friendly. I have loved getting to know each dog and adjusting so they have the best time possible (it can't be easy leaving home for a stranger's house!). For example, one dog tends to have a much better, more peaceful day if I get him out to the woods for a run/walk in the morning before work (who wouldn't!) Another loves to cuddle, so we put a blanket on the couch so that she can snuggle while we watch TV at night with constant pets. Another is whip-smart, so I try to make sure we do extra enrichment/play time. With all animals, I try to go above and beyond and see them as individuals with distinct personalities and needs. :) I am a work-from-home journalist who would absolutely love some company, playtime, cuddles, and more reasons to get outside during the day. Sadly, I travel too much right now to adopt a pet of my own. I would very much appreciate the opportunity to bond with and share my space with an animal! My work schedule is incredibly flexible, but in general I am home all day, with some sort of exercise in the morning that I would be happy to make part of the pet sitting experience, a remote work day wherein I have a lot of freedom to take breaks. I also have a small porch, a medium-sized fenced yard, a larger non-fenced yard, and a beautiful suburban area to walk with nearby parks. I’m available weekdays before 11:30, and any time on weekends! I work in the afternoons, so my availability is before 11:30 and after 6 pm on weekdays. I’m happy to be flexible to suit your changing needs, especially if something comes up last minute that you need support with! I know it’s an act of extreme trust to have another person interact with your fur babies and I take that responsibility extremely seriously!! Whether in your home, my home, or just walking around the neighborhood, I promise to pay attention to, care for, and love your pets like they are my own!
About: I've grown up with cats and dogs, and love spending time with them. I like to go for long walks, play with pets, or just hangout and keep them company. Also love art, and can paint a watercolor or acrylic portrait of your pet, if you like! I'm currently working full time from 8-4:30, but have plenty of time in the evenings! Also, most Wednesdays and Fridays I work from home, so I can help out during the day if I'm in your area. I will care for your pet in your home in accordance with whatever rules you follow, whether that's keeping them in certain areas and off furniture, or giving them plenty of freedom to run around and cuddle.
About: Growing up with dogs all around was and continues to be a fun and deeply rewarding experience. I have cared for dogs (and cats, etc.) since I was a kid, and still often take care of family and friends' pets. Providing enrichment and engagement, anticipating and caring for needs, wrangling wily actors, managing space and time in a positive attitude, and thinking and acting flexibly, attuned to diverse and changing needs, are not only things required from a good dog walker - these are tasks I complete daily as a middle school teacher. I am available all day most Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with some availability on the weekends. During the school year, my availability will mostly be on the weekends, though I will be available during school breaks and holidays. As a dog walker, safety is the most important aspect. I am a very perceptive individual and take care to be aware of all of my surroundings. Any and all information you can share about your pet is greatly welcome.
About: I’ve cared for dogs of all ages—from energetic puppies who need structure and playtime to senior pups who require patience and gentle care. What sets me apart is my focus on making each dog feel safe, loved, and at home, whether that means long walks, belly rubs, or sticking to their exact routine. I’m reliable, attentive, and quick to notice changes in behavior or needs, which gives pet parents peace of mind. If your dog needs medication, extra exercise, or just a little extra snuggle time, I’m happy to provide it. I am currently in medical school so my schedule is busy but with plenty of time free on the weekends! I have full days (8am-6pm) Monday and Friday, but only brief afternoon classes on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and would love to spend my non-class time with a pup! I am additionally free any time on weekends as my weekends mainly entail staying at home to study. I am currently unable to offer pet care in my apartment. I live in an apartment building that is not pet friendly. I am able to travel wherever is needed!

Vicky even brought Shorty to work with her at the pet hospital where she works & I know he loved that. Travis, Bobby's brother was also really great & Shorty warmed up to him right away. Shorty is used to sleeping on the bed & they allowed that, and also figured out something yummy for him to eat when he wouldn't. About: I was raised with cats and dogs and i have kept them into my adult life. Not having them would be a tragedy. I look forward to caring for your fur baby as they are my own. I am constantly taking care of my kitten and my 2 other cats and I help my friend with his pupper often and love every minute of it. I can go to your place or watch them here your call. If your animal is comfier at home then that is no problem at all for me. My home is quiet and currently dog free. My cats are currently livng ful time at my friends as i jist moved to this new place and into my significant others place so no need to worry about clashing.

“Jules is wonderful. Loves doggies and is kind, considerate and communicative. She has her own very sweet dog. I can tell if Colbert has been comfortable when I pick him up. When I have occasionally left him at a kennel or even one or two private homes, he is frantic to go. When I picked him up at Jules’ place, he was happy to see me, but seemed quite relaxed and clearly related to Jules. She lives near the Greenbelt and Willard Beach, which is also a plus. Highly recommended!”
