“Anna is a wonderful sitter and human! She accommodated my last minute request, which truly saved me so much stress and worry! She always ensured my cat had plenty of attention and love. She even took out the food and litter trash because I was going to be gone for weeks. I will 100% book Anna again, and you should too!! (Thank you Anna, you're a lifesaver!)”

“This was our second time booking Jennifer to drop in on our cat twice a day during our week away, and we were just as happy as the first time! She again took excellent care of Dexter, including feeding and tending to his specific medical needs. She even spot cleaned the house and his multiple water bowls throughout the house! Dex loved her so much, he even met her at the door! We will definitely plan to book with Jennifer again in the future and will recommend her to friends as well!”

About: I have always had pets of all kinds growing up along with much love for all wildlife. Currently I have 4 cats, 2 dogs, 3 fish and many snails, and a lot of plants! My dog growing up became diabetic (also blind) and I provided him supportive care for the remaining 5 years he had (including special meals and insulin shots)! I have rescued several cats and found loving homes after getting them medical care (I always keep in touch). One of my cats was a bottle baby after finding her on the side of the road at only 3 weeks old, she is now almost 2. I also provided supportive care for my two eldest cats (11years) after their major surgeries (perineal urethrostomy and gallbladder removal). I am also in the process of obtaining my wildlife rehabilitation permit for I always seem to be brought animals to care for and I would like to do more for them than just transporting to a rehabilitator! I have a lot of room at my house which includes the finished basement area with separate rooms, a mudroom, a large fenced in backyard, and kennels if needed. I'm willing to travel to you, or care for your animals here! All my animals are friendly (successfully introduced and integrated) but if yours needs some privacy I can absolutely provide it. I'm here to help, I hope it's clear how important your fur babies would be to me! I would love to make whatever it is you need happen. I am currently a stay at home mom with my own fur babies. My day starts at 6AM when I wake up to feed and walk the dogs and check to see if the cats need anything. I would be more than happy to care for your animal(s) here or get out of the house and care for them in their home! I have a large fenced in yard, a finished basement with separate rooms, a separate mudroom, and kennels if needed! My 4 cats and 2 dogs roam the house and would love to make new friends, but if your animals are shy, we have plenty of space to accommodate. All I ask is for a clear set of instructions if caring for your pet in your home and you can expect those instructions to be carried out with love and respect for your animal(s) and property. I am also insured for pet care/housesitting through PCI.
“So glad I came across Lindsay, I had to head out of town last minute and she came in clutch. We weren’t able to do a meet and greet beforehand but we were able to figure something out and everything turned out fine. Will definitely keep her mind for the future!”
About: I’ve been caring for dogs, cats and rabbits my whole life. I’ve always had them and have even done 4-H with my dog and rabbits and was an advisor when I got older. 4-H taught me all about pet care and dog training and obedience. I’ve recently changed jobs so I can be home nights, weekends and holidays! This will allow me more time for watching your fur babies. I enjoy spending my free time on walks and being outside. Since I do work during the week, they will be home during the day and unable to go out. But once I am home, and on weekends, they can go out as often as they would like. I don’t have any pets at this time so your fur baby will be the only one in the home. I keep things picked up and out of reach for safety. I believe in harnessing and leashing before going outside and making sure they are secured properly. I also will not feed your pet any human food or anything not approved by you.

About: I have always had my own animals that I have helped take care of. I can walk the dogs, feed them on a schedule, or even just play with them and keep them company! I’m an incoming college freshmen that’s just looking to make some money before starting school! Besides going to the gym and making time for friends and family, I will have plenty of time to take care of your pets whether it’s walking them or playing with them! I will feed, take on walks and potty breaks, and have playtime with your dog as much as needed! I can also always send updates pictures if wanted!
“Christine was fantastic with our dog Ali. We were nervous as this was the first time we hired a drop in sitter while we were gone. Our dog is a little bit neurotic and elderly and we weren't quite sure how she was going to react. She loved Christine from the get-go. She loved all the walks, attention, love she was given in our absence. She was walked at least twice a day. Which really kept her anxiety and energy level down. She was so chill when we got home it was quite shocking. She was in constant contact with us with photos and updates and I would highly recommend her to anyone.”

About: I’ve been taking care of friends’ and family’s dogs all my life. I’m a humane society of summit county certified dog walker, and I too require some outside time and a treat! I work part time at a nature center and can care for pets most mornings and evenings. I’m totally free on Saturdays, Mondays, and Tuesdays! I have a private apartment in downtown Cuyahoga falls, so lots of city walking space and access to parks. I also live with my cat, Mae (FIV negative)

“She was absolutely amazing got good pictures of my babies every time she visited and also had very good communication. My cat seemed very happy and healthy when I got back!”

About: I grew up on a farm where I cared for a range of animals from chickens to cats. From there, I have always had a pet to share my heart with. I have had guinea pigs, cats, dogs in my own home and have yet to meet an animal I don't get along with. I am looking for flexible work so that I can finish writing my novel without letting the burden of finances fall completely on my husband. I figure walking and caring/sitting for animals to help keep my family fed is a great match for me, my personality, and my love for animals. I used to work 13 hour days, an hour from home, so I understand the importance of a pet nanny and would be honored to help you with that need! My two fur babies, Lily (9 year old Ragamuffin kitty) and Ellie (5 year old German Shepherd) have different personalities and co-habitate beautifully, but I would not want to introduce other animals into my home. Both of my girls are rescues from different shelters (Angels for Animals and One of a Kind Pet Rescue) and they both lived stressful lives before me so my job is to give them sanctuary and love. That said, in regard to care, Lily is pretty self regulated. Every other day, her food bowl is re-filled (no, you can't see the bottom of the bowl but she's my sweet princess who gets what she wants) and her kitty litter is scooped every other day and changed as needed. Ellie is a rescued Puppy Mill momma who grew up in a very confusing way and is forever married to routine. To keep her happy and healthy, we let her out same time each day (7am) where she eats 1.5 cups of food, potty break at 12pm and again at 5pm (1.5 cups). Ellie's gets let out 3 times a day, per her wants because I try to let her out more and if she doesn't have to go potty, she turns around and lays on her Tempur-Pedic bed. Otherwise, when the weather is appropriate Ellie and I take a minimum of a 15 minute walk in the park behind my house. I hope this description helps you trust that your fur babies will consider me "Auntie Marah" soon enough, and that they are in safe and caring hands with me. I am happy to answer any questions!
About: I love dogs! I’ve taken care of family dogs for 15 years and will occasionally pet sit for friends as well. I’ve had my own dog for 3 years. She’s a shelter dog that has anxiety and isn’t the best with new people. She’s helped me learn how to approach new dog friends and that every dog is unique in their own way. I love to go on walks and meet new dogs! Im happy to help you out by either checking on your dog during the day or helping them get some exercise outside! I’m between jobs right now and have ample amount of time to check in on or walk dogs during the day! Anytime between 8-5pm will work for me at the moment! I do not plan on having pets inside my home. But I’d be happy to follow the instructions that any homeowner provides to me for their home. I will respect what is said since I know all animals are different and their owners know them best!
About: I have several years of experience caring for dogs and cats of all ages and personalities. I've cared for a variety of pets: seniors, puppies, cats, kittens, high energy, shy or anxious. I’m patient, gentle, and always focused on making pets feel safe and loved. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or quiet companionship, I adapt to each pet’s needs and routine. I treat every animal like they’re my own and always keep their comfort, safety, and happiness as my top priorities. I currently am a pharmacy technician full time but I typically have 3 days off weekly and time before and after work available for your pets needs. I’m someone who believes pets deserve the same comfort, safety, and love they get at home. When your pet stays with me, they’re not just being “watched”—they’re being cared for thoughtfully and responsibly.

About: Hello! I have had a love for pets my whole life! Starting when I was 12 I began to check in on my neighbor's and family member's animals. I would walk them, feed them, stay the night with them, and love on them! As a recent high school graduate, I am free both weekdays and weekends for the summer and can put my full attention and energy into watching your pet! I always make sure that my animal's needs are taken care of first! I take them on nice long walks and play with them and give them as much attention as possible! I make sure to take them out every few hours depending on how big or small!
“I would 100% recommend Bri! Bri greatly understood my dog Rey's needs and showed warmth, patience, and knowledge about dog care. During the visit, Bri gave Rey her meds and ensured she was relaxed and comfortable. Bri took terrific care of Rey. I appreciated the thorough visit summary and pictures, too. I am so grateful Bri stopped by to dog-sit Rey. I plan to contact her again for future dog sittings.”

Jennifer has taken care of our cat many times, and she is the only person I trust with my boy. I would never leave him with anyone but Jen — she has become like a member of our family. She is so generous with her time, and goes far above and beyond and keeps him fed, entertained, and content. Besides his excellent care, she is very conscientious and thoughtful about making sure all is good at our house, and is willing to help with other responsibilities while we are away. She’s the best!!

So glad I came across Lindsay, I had to head out of town last minute and she came in clutch. We weren’t able to do a meet and greet beforehand but we were able to figure something out and everything turned out fine. Will definitely keep her mind for the future!
Matt was incredible. Both of our cats were instantly friends with him and would come running to the door every time he came to visit. We loved getting the daily pictures while we were missing them. Highly recommended and we'll definitely be using him again if we need to!

Audrey was very responsive during my vacation. Ohio expreienced a snow, cold and ice storm and I had concerns about her being able to travel to visit my two cats. She was very willing to drive to my house to take care of them, even on the worst day. I especially loved the check in photos and a few of her pirctures are really amazing photos. Audry also helped me with turning on faucets and helping with concerns with my pipes freezing. I would highly recommend her - and already have to my friends and family when they go out of town.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
