“I booked Lori on short notice and so glad I did. She was super attentive to my dog and cat, communicated well with me throughout my travel, and paid careful attention to making them comfortable with her. Already have her booked for my next trip!”

“I felt very at ease knowing Marah was taking care of our fur babies while we were out of town. Marah was quick to respond to my request and made the trip to our house for a meet and greet the same day! Our dogs LOVED her. Even our grumpy cat came out. She sent pictures and texted updates which is always appreciated. I'll definitely be calling Marah again!”

“What an absolute pleasure it was to have our dogs loved and cared for while we traveled. Breyeanna gave us frequent updates and sent wonderful photos. Our dogs are not friendly with strangers and Breyeanna became family to them. We were thrilled with the outcome. Thank you so much for caring for our dogs.”

About: Hello! I have had a love for pets my whole life! Starting when I was 12 I began to check in on my neighbor's and family member's animals. I would walk them, feed them, stay the night with them, and love on them! As a recent high school graduate, I am free both weekdays and weekends for the summer and can put my full attention and energy into watching your pet! I always make sure that my animal's needs are taken care of first! I take them on nice long walks and play with them and give them as much attention as possible! I make sure to take them out every few hours depending on how big or small!
“Patience was the absolute best while watching my two dogs! She sent several updates throughout the day with videos and photos of the doggies without me even asking and I truly felt like comfortable having her in the home with them! I will definitely be using Patience again and recommend others to use her services as well!!”

“Tara did an excellent job housesitting and petsitting our German shorthair dog, Sage. She was very responsive and we loved the pictures and numerous updates throughout the day, it made us feel so at ease and assured that our dog was in good hands! We have already booked her for another date. Thank you, Tara!”

“Kara was awesome. She stayed the night and took care of my 3 mini schnauzers. She kept in daily contact to let me know how the dogs were behaving. She's reliable and great with the dogs. Looking forward to having her pet sit again.”

“Nicole was great! I was able to enjoy my vacation knowing Chandler was being well cared for. I came home to a happy dog and a clean house. I’ll be sure to use Nicole again when I need a sitter!”

“It was such a relief to have Aidan caring for my dogs at my house while I was gone on my 8 day vacation. My pups are 14 and 11 years old and have special dietary and medical needs and he was able to keep them well fed, medicated and happy! This was the first time in their whole lives that I didn't have friends or family available to watch them, but I didn't have to worry as Aidan sent pictures and kept me up to date on how things were going. If I am in this situation again Aidan will be the first person I reach out to!”

“Did a very good job looking after my senior dogs for a week. ❤️ Followed misc care instructions well and was very good at accommodating our dogs needs. Very good communication, sent photos and text updates every day. Very happy overall, would definitely recommend her care! 🙂”

About: I’m a pet owner myself with a dog and two cats, so I’m used to managing different personalities, routines, and energy levels every day. I understand how important consistency is, and I try to keep things as close to your pet’s normal routine as possible. I don’t overbook, so your pet will get real attention and a calm environment—not a chaotic, revolving-door situation. I’m comfortable with both dogs and cats, including multi-pet households, and I pay attention to the small things like behavior changes, feeding habits, and overall comfort. Whether it’s drop-ins, walks, or sitting, my goal is simple: make sure your pet is safe, comfortable, and well taken care of while you’re away. I work a full time job, so I am available after 4:30pm Monday through Friday and have open availability Saturday and Sunday to help care for your pets! I provide a safe, calm, and structured environment where pets can feel comfortable and cared for while you’re away. I take the time to understand each pet’s routine, personality, and any specific needs so I can keep things as consistent and stress-free as possible. Safety is always my top priority. I closely monitor pets during walks, playtime, and feeding, and I’m mindful of surroundings to prevent any risks. I follow all care instructions carefully, including medications, dietary restrictions, and activity levels. In my home, pets are treated like family. I maintain a clean, pet-friendly space and ensure all areas are secure. I also make sure introductions with other animals (if applicable) are done slowly and safely. You can expect regular updates, photos, and clear communication so you always know how your pet is doing. My goal is for you to feel confident and at ease, knowing your pet is in responsible and caring hands.
“We highly recommend Owen as a sitter. This was our first time using the app and he was super easy to work with, responded quickly to messages, and took great care of our puppy! He kept us updated and sent photos. Our puppy had a great time!”

About: I am a caring and dependable dog walker with a genuine love and respect for animals. I currently walk two dogs Tuesday through Friday and have built a strong bond with them. One was shy and barked at me at first, but now happily runs up to greet me—an experience I truly value. I also volunteer at the Humane Society animal shelter, where I help feed cats, clean their cages, and walk dogs. At times, my responsible and gentle 14-year-old son assists me on walks, offering extra attention and care to the dogs. As a tutor and substitute teacher with a flexible schedule and summers off, I’m able to provide consistent, reliable care. My priority is making sure every dog feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for. My flexible schedule as a tutor and substitute teacher allows me free time to do pet sitting and dog walking. I tend to walk dogs between 8am to 11am and then do my substitute teaching job between 11:45 to 3:15pm and after that will walk a dog as needed. During the summer time Im free all day for walks and for house sitting. I will make sure to follow any instructions or recommendations from the client concerning the well being of their pet. I typically give the dog daily exercise 4 to 7 times per day. With the owner permission I will take dog to the dog park and keep a watchful eye on the dog at all times there. If I feel another dog is getting aggressive I will immediately remove the dog so nothing escalates.
“Thank you so much for staying with my girl while I was out of town! I couldn't be happier with how well my pup was cared for. She sent pictures regularly throughout the day and kept me informed of how my pup was doing. 100% would recommend to anyone for any critter.”

About: I’ve grown up around both cats and dogs my entire life, so caring for animals has always been a natural part of my daily routine. From feeding, walking, and bathing to playing with them and making sure they feel comfortable and loved, I’m very familiar with the responsibility that comes with pet care. I’ve also helped friends and family members by watching their pets while they were away, including stopping in for walks, feeding, playtime, and giving them attention and companionship. Being around animals has always been something I genuinely enjoy, and I’m comfortable caring for pets with different personalities, sizes, and energy levels. I currently work part time, so I have lots of time for your animals! Most days, I can guarantee a bathroom break no more than 6 hours apart. There are a few days it would be 8 hours, but I will be clear with my communication with you! When caring for pets in a client’s home, I always try to keep their routine as normal and comfortable as possible. I follow all feeding schedules, walk routines, medication instructions, and any specific care preferences closely to help pets feel safe and relaxed while their owner is away. I make sure they get plenty of attention, playtime, exercise, and companionship based on their personality and energy level. I also keep the home clean and respectful, including cleaning up after pets, refreshing water bowls, and maintaining litter boxes if needed. Communication is very important to me, so I provide regular updates and photos to help owners feel at ease while they’re away.

Mackenzie always goes above and beyond to make sure my dogs are happy, healthy, and comfortable. She's incredibly kind, responsive, and trustworthy as well. When my travel plans were delayed, she did not hesitate to offer to make sure the dogs were taken care of until I got back. HIGHLY recommend her services!

It was a pleasure to have Alexa stay in our home with Zeke and Zoey for 4 nights while we were out of town. She communicated with us regularly, including pictures and videos of how they were doing, which we really appreciated. We trust her with our pups and our home and hope to have her back in the future. Thanks so much, Alexa!!

We had a great experience with Audrey. She sent daily updates with photos of Kitty, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Kitty clearly received lots of love and attention, and it was obvious she was well cared for when we returned home. She was communicative, dependable, and incredibly thoughtful throughout the entire sit. We especially appreciated how proactive, responsible, and solution-oriented she was in handling an unexpected situation during our trip. Our home was clean when we returned, and we truly felt that both Kitty and our house were in caring hands. We would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter.

Alex did a great job with my 2 senior dogs! House sat for 5 nights, and we came home to house and dogs in great shape! One dog needs more supervision for hot spot treatment, Alex followed instructions and updated us about him. Good communication, sent photos of the dogs at least once a day. Very pleased with the service, would book again!

We had such a great experience with Isabella watching our three dogs. She was wonderful with communication and kept us updated throughout our trip, which gave us so much peace of mind. Our dogs were clearly so well cared for and happy when we returned. She even checked in on our son’s gecko, which was incredibly thoughtful and appreciated. We are so grateful for everything she did and would absolutely recommend her!
Kayla took amazing care of our dogs while we were gone. She kept us updated the whole time and they all had a great time together. She stayed at the house here and I think it was cleaner when we came back than when we left! Very thankful she was able to watch our dogs.

Sandra was a great choice and I wouldn't hesitate to use her services again. My shy dog liked her from the moment they met. She knows how to relate and make a dog feel safe. She took such good care of my pup and my house. My house looked like I had just walked how the door. Nice to come home to. Thanks again Sandra

Andrew did an amazing job taking care of my dogs and cats! One of my dogs needed several medications and most of them are on a special diet and Andrew was great at providing the care they needed. My house was also well taken care of and he even brought in the mail and shoveled the driveway! One of my dogs wasn't feeling well and he immediately reached out asking if he should take him to the vet. I suggested trying something else first and he tried that first. I would highly recommend Andrew and I will definitely reach again for future sitting needs. Thank you, Andrew, for taking such great care of them.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Stow on Rover is $64.18 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 1,354 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Stow. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Stow walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Stow maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Stow choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Stow. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
