About: Rhinebeck local with a 30 minute lunch break. Available for overnight in-home and/or dog walking services. Experience with giving oral medication. Big dogs and puppies welcome! Kitties and small animals, too! Minimal experience with reptiles (only leopard geckos) but I can watch them with care instructions. Generally I work early morning to early afternoon. No earlier than 5:30 and no later than 6:00 p.m. Weekends included. My days off are usually Tuesday or Wednesday or Thursday. There are some exceptions as my schedule varies week to week. But I can and frequently do work around customers' schedules, especially with advanced notice! I am diligent in keeping an eye on animals in the home. Especially puppies/potty training animals. When we are out taking a walk (for dogs) I will cross to the other side of the street and not greet other dogs, even if yours is friendly. Better to be safe than sorry! Same goes for dog parks. We can go, but I will keep a close eye on any animals and leave if things get too hot.

About: Ever since I was a child, I have had love and compassion for animals. I convinced my parents to let me keep a beautiful young stray lab mix who my brother found abandoned. He became my first dog and instant part of our family. As the years went by, I have had several other pets particularly dogs of pit bull breeds and cats who were rescues and all held a special place in my heart. My pets have always brought me joy and comfort when I have needed it most especially my two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels who meant everything to me. They were my babies and were extremely spoiled so much so that I had to hand feed them at times or they would not eat, I also took care of their grooming myself, they had me wrapped around their little paws. We had many adventures together my husband and I gave them the best life we could. Towards the progression of their heart disease, I had to administer all their medication in pill form. They gave us nothing but unconditional love and happiness for many years and not a day goes by that I do not think of them. I was devastated and going through a difficult time after losing them and started looking into volunteering at the SPCA to devote my time and energy into something positive but before I could even go through with that a lady moved into our building along with a beautiful 5 month old Tri-color Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and asked my husband and I if we would like to co-parent with her because she’d heard we had just lost our beloved 11 1/2yr old Cavalier and of course we jumped at the chance. I know that was divine intervention, I had the privilege to take care of Riley for three ½ years and made many memories along the way until his owner moved to Colorado in October of 2022. I love him and miss him terribly and so does my husband. I know I can offer the same care and compassion for your pet/s as I have done for mine and I hope you will consider me. Thank you. I have a flexible schedule and always open to discuss how I can work around yours. I will make sure to be as reliable as possible. Unfortunately, I am not offering pet boarding at this time but I do offer long or short walks and drop-in visits as needed. I am open to in the future to offer care in your home.
