“Jen and Louis saved the day and came through for me and my chiweenie Willar when I really needed a sitter who understands my senior pup's needs. Willar has dietary restrictions and some quirks, and Jen was attentive, followed all the instructions for Willar's routine, and she asked very thoughtful questions. Additionally, her dog Louis is so welcoming and sweet. They really helped with some transitions I'm going through and were very accommodating.”

“I cannot say enough good things about Megan. She really went above and beyond for Ollie and it shows. He crashed every time he came home which shows just how much play he got at Megan’s. We will definitely be back!”

“I always get nervous leaving my 1 year old pup with someone new, but Elizabeth was absolutely wonderful and exceeded all my expectations. I could tell immediately that she’s a dog person, and she sent me tons of updates throughout the day. I’m so grateful for her and will be booking again next time I need daycare!”

“We had an amazing experience! Fabulous communication, a wonderful setting for dogs to play, and one successfully exhausted pup. Thank you so much for welcoming Poppy into your community.”

“This was the first time leaving my senior pup with Valbona. He's a little skidding after some nigh life changes, but she was so caring and took amazing care of Kent.”

“Nina was great! We were on vacation and had a last minute change of plans. Nina responded quickly to our inquiry and was able to accommodate us last minute. She took great care of Shadow! I would use her again if we’re ever back in DC ?”

“Lucy had a fun day with Russ and the two resident dogs. She loved being outside in the yard. Russ was easy to work with and very accommodating even when I had unexpected delays. Lucy can’t wait to come back!”

“I couldn’t be happier with my experience with Eduardo and Suseth! From the moment I dropped Paxton off, I knew he was in the best hands. Eduardo and Suseth treated my fur baby like their own, providing the perfect balance of play, care, and love. Paxton came home happy, tired, and clearly well cared for. The communication was excellent, with updates and photos that kept me in the loop and reassured me that my pup was having a blast. It’s clear they are passionate providing care to pups! This was my first time using Rover and as long as Eduardo and Suseth continue providing services, I’ll continue enlisting them for my favorite little guy 🐾.”

“Katie is great! This was Mochi’s first time being around other dogs for this amount of time and she definitely put my mind at ease with of all the pictures she sent. Mochi had a great time and will definitely be seeing Katie and Henry soon!”

“My Luna 🐾 came home ready to be “mellow” and take a nap… that tells me she can’t wait to come back again! I am SO glad to have found you for future “outings” for Luna… Matthew & family, we will see you again soon. Thank you, Luna🐾 & Mary”

“Abigail and Cole are wonderful sitters and Oliver felt right at home with them and their puppy Finn. Seeing the two dogs nap together and pose for photos was the cutest thing ever. I will continue to book daycare with them. Thank you!”

About: Hi there! I’m Grant - my wife and I are huge dog lovers. In April of 2025, we lost our first dog, Moose, a 90lb golden retriever mix. To honor his memory, we began a fostering journey. We successfully fostered out 5 dogs (3 of them seniors) to their forever homes over the next year (including the 5th one, who became our own!). We are aquatinted with all kinds and sizes with dogs. It’s been an honor to get to know each one and explore their unique personalities! We currently have 2 dogs of our own at home: Ellie, a 3yo petite Great Pyrenees, and Charlie, a 2yo Australian Shepherd. They LIVE for playing with other dogs - we’d love to host your pup and provide them a happy, fun, safe space to stay while you are away. Do you have a big dog? Are you anxious about it pulling your dog walker? I’ve got experience with large dogs pulling and I can handle yours. I will give them the distance and space they need to have a happy and safe walk. I get anxious when we have others look after our dogs. Anything could happen. Know that I will bring every bit of care and safety to your dog that I bring to mine every day. They’re valuable members of your family and I will treat them as such. Please reach out with any questions. Thank you! I work from home when I am not traveling for work, so am fairly flexible during the day and week. Just let me know the time and we’ll see if it works! My own dog is like my child. I know that you feel the same way about yours. I will follow all instructions to a T. I am passionate about safety about my own dog - I will bring that level of care to you.
About: Substitute teacher during the school year, looking to walk dogs and house sit this summer. As for experience, I grew up with a sweet and feisty Chihuahua named Taco, and for the last 11 years I owned a hyper and loving Australian Shepherd named Josie, who needed lots of activity and attention. Such a fun dog! Currently my school is on summer break, so I can walk dogs during all week days until the beginning of August, except for two week-long trips. My availability has been updated on the Rover app. I provide attentive care that is tailored to each pet’s routine and needs. In my home or a client’s home, I ensure pets have fresh water, regular meals, exercise, potty breaks, and plenty of affection and supervision. I follow the owner’s instructions regarding feeding schedules, medications, training, and household rules to maintain consistency and reduce stress. I keep the environment clean and safe, monitor pets for any changes in behavior or health, and communicate regularly with owners by providing updates and photos. My goal is to create a calm, trustworthy environment where pets feel comfortable and well cared for.
Southwest Quadrant dog parents share their Rover experiences
I was very fortunate to find Elizabeth at the last minute when I traveled to Alexandria to visit my son and family. Although I only needed her to watch Demi for several hours over the weekend, she quickly established a relationship with my sweet, traumatized dog and greatly eased my burden of having her watched when I had to attend some functions without her. I’m glad to know I can rely on her during future visits.
