“Jamie has been such a good addition to my dog team. Roxy, the very busy cattle dog, is sweet but reactive and headstrong. Jamie handles her so well. Roxy loves her, and she’s getting her walk needs met while I’m down with a broken arm. Highly recommend Jamie!”

“Cori & Jamie were so wonderful with my dog for a 2 hour sit! They monitored her in the heat and was sure to give her breaks when needed. They communicated clearly and effectively, and clearly have a love for animals shown through their quality care!”

About: Growing up my family owned a dog as well as a cat, and I helped tend to the care of both animals in the home. I believe that having this responsibility engraved in me from a young age has helped shape me to be a solid pet care taker now. I was able to experience first hand the changes in a pets life as they age, both behaviorally and physically. I also have taken care of friends and family’s pets in their homes while they are away, most owning multiple types of pets from dogs, cats, and even bearded dragons. I’m currently working at a bakery as overnight, Tuesday-Saturday 11pm-6am, so this gives me an open availability for the daytime to provide needed pet services. I can not unfortunately offer to care for pets in my own home, as it is unfenced and has a cat residing that does best as a single pet. This is something I can recognize, so it is best that I come to the clients home. A pet communicates with people in so many ways, and the best way to create a safe environment for both you and the pet is to understand those behaviors. I have a good understanding of reading an animal and when boundaries are being set, whether they are done with play time and need space, or need some extra attention. Any pet care details left by the owner, I follow very closely to give the pet the closest experience they can get to a typical day in the home with the owner.
About: I have pet sat for neighbors and family friends for years and for long periods of time. I have taken care of dogs, cats, guinea pigs and fish. I also have experience working with reptiles and snakes as an intern for an environment education center. I took care of a box turtle, corn snake, and painted turtle. I am in college full time but am willing to watch or stop by when I am not currently taking a class. I am a junior at SUNY ESF. And have a relatively light schedule that would allow me to dedicate hours to your pet if needed. As I live in an apartment I do not have any pets nor can I board pets. However, I have my own car so I can travel to take care of pets. If you wish to have overnight care I can stay on a couch or blow up mattress by your pet for safe company.
“Well communicative and caring dog walker. Took nice pictures and always kept me updated on how my dog was behaving. Very grateful to be able to hire her on such short notice”

“Allison is very sweet and super reliable! We have a high energy 1 year old dog and she’s great and burning his energy during the day while we’re at work! She goes above and beyond for our Theo! 🐾”

About: No dog deserves the kennel! Why settle for the pound when they can spend a night in a home with an owner-on-loan; either in your house on in a house that has raised two other pets from puppyhood to old age? Admittedly, there are stairs and hardwood floors in my house, but I have bought several carpets for my old dog to move around on and can lay them down for your dog’s convenience. We also have a big backyard that your dog will love to run around in (and no predators, unless you count woodchucks and geese) and a long leash that can go all the way to the end of the property line. I love dogs and after a day with me, your furry friend will mistake me for his mother. I’m most busy Wednesdays-Thursdays, so I marked them out on the calendar, but if petsitting is required for several days, that is easy to accommodate! I also don’t mind waking up every few hours to take a dog out—I have not quite reached the age where sleep is important. I won’t allow your dog to roam around outside unleashed (sorry, but I don’t want to lose them!), but when they’re outside, I’ll make sure they have the freedom to run around to their heart’s content. Additionally, I’m willing to walk them in any weather they’ll put up with and even let them sleep on the couch/spare bed, if they’re not too dirty.
About: I have experience working with dogs of all sizes, ages, and care needs both in a professional setting and as a pet owner! At my previous doggy daycare job, I walked, fed, administered medication to, and boarded with dogs. I also have cared for cats for 3 years and have some experience caring for birds (and absolutely love them! particularly cockatiels and conures) I currently am a full time student and have 2 days off during the work week thanks to online classes, so more time to care for pets! I live in a large apartment with no personal pets. Dogs would be crated when I’m in class (only a few hours a day, less than 6 usually) and free to roam when I’m home, with at least 2 relief walks a day. I have one female roommate who is also experienced in caring for dogs, but I will be the only one responsible for the dog’s care. Care at a client’s home would all depend on their personal preferences! I am comfortable sleeping over for any type of pet.
“Adriana has been excellent! very responsive and communicative - it's been a joy to work with her and I trust her with my boy completely (an 80 lbs. 8 year old dog who loves all his smells and peeing on everything!).”

“Amber did an excellent job. She fulfilled all of my expectations, and then some. She alerted me to a possible tick bite and was tuned in to my golden’s issues with the high temperatures and modified the route for more shade. I would seek her out again if the need arises.”

About: I have taken care of many types of dogs and been around dogs and cats my entire life, and I have 2 dogs. My neighbors and family members often entrust me to watch their dogs while they are gone, and I also have experience with house/dog sitting overnight. I also used to nanny for a family when they got a new puppy and she was also part of my responsibilities. I am working part time right now so I can easily fit in walks at different times of days! I am also available on different days and have a flexible schedule. At home, I take care of my golden doodle and walk her everyday! For my clients, I make sure to give each animal plenty of attention and care with walks, pets, and making sure they have water (and food if applicable).
“10/10! Absolutely fantastic! My dog is scared with strangers he doesn’t know. Sarah spent 40 minutes warming him up, giving him treats and taking him out for a potty! She was willing to work on making my dog nice and comfortable, which was fantastic. I am very comfortable with her watching over my dog! I know she is taking care of him & is treating him as her own!”

“Alyssa was so great with my little one. She kept me updated throughout the week, was very responsive and took care of him when he did not feel well. She even got him a toy for his birthday. I would highly recommend her!”

“Margaret is fantastic—she has great expertise with both dogs and cats and is incredibly reliable and friendly! My dog, who is a little bit nervous generally and not small (Aussie/Husky) took to her immediately and they have gotten on beautifully! I also have two cats and Margaret gives them the same love she does her own sweet kitty. Highly recommend!”

About: I've been taking care of animals since 7th grade. My family had their own dog and I used to care for animals around the neighborhood including cats and other animals. I take care of my former co workers dogs and my dad's dog. I'm a very active person, so I love to play outside and go for walks. I work as a teaching assistant full time and school gets out at 2:15 so I have plenty of time in the afternoon most days and could always take time off if needed for a long weekend. Plus school breaks I have plenty of time. I live in an apartment that has small dog parks outside. I'm very comfortable with letting dogs out in fenced in areas and taking them on leash for walks.
About: I’ve taken care of my family’s small dog since I was 8 years old. I’ve watched my friends medium and large dogs for long stretches of time including over night stays. And I have an energetic year old black cat who I’ve had since he was 5 weeks old so I have experience taking care of very young and older pets. I have a remote part time job so my schedule is extremely flexible. I can do my work from any location at any time. I’ll have all the time in the world to spend time with your pets. I live right across the street from a safe pet friendly park and I have a secure home with no other pets so no need to worry if your pet can’t be around other pets.
Skytop-South Campus dog parents share their Rover experiences
Diana has been great with Cooper. He is usually a timid dog, but he feels very comfortable with her. Diana is also very responsive, and sometimes I've reached out to her at the last minute to check in with Cooper, and she has always accommodated us. She is reliable, great with dogs and a pleasure to work with.
We’ve been so lucky to have Jennah taking care of our pup from the time she was just 8 weeks old, all the way through her first year. Super reliable, great at keeping us updated with how the walks went (plus lots of adorable photos!). Jennah was consistent with training reinforcement, whether it was leash manners, basic commands, or working through little puppy quirks at each stage. Jennah clearly loves dogs, and genuinely treats them like her own. Highly recommend!
