“Mary was great house sitting and watching my two high energy dogs (Aussies)! She did daily walks as well as playing in the back yard + was able to accommodate their special needs (prescription food for one and chewable meds for the other). I would absolutely recommend her as a dog walker or sitter as she loved my dogs a whole lot.”

“upon my return, I noticed how very comfortable my puppy was with Leighanne. That is of utmost importance to me. Additionally my home was left superbly clean. Most thankful.”

“Devi was incredible! She took the best care of our senior pug who also has some medical issues. She stayed overnight with him and we came back to a happy, healthy pup. We are so thankful to have met her and will certainly be reaching out for all our dog sitting needs moving forward. ❤️”

About: Mike's first job was caring for his neighbors' pets. Mike has had pets since he was 10, and travelled around the world with his dogs and cats during his military career and regional sales role. Roscoe, Higgins, and Freyja are living the dream in the Pacific Northwest with frequent road (work) trips and cross-country visits to the family in Indiana and Massachusetts. Let me know if we can help you with your fur babies. Mike works from home and is an early riser. While the coffee is brewing, all the animals are waking up with bathroom breaks and breakfast. Mike walks Roscoe after breakfast and dinner. Since Roscoe is a senior, we frequently split the two meals into snacks and shorter walks. When the cats are interested, they climb into the backpacks and go see the world with us. I pay attention to the animals' behavior and routines. Consistency in feeding and bathroom breaks has made my pets very comfortable with my work and social routines. I have the flexibility to meet your routines and maintain the consistency you expect with your family while away from home. I recognize when it's time to stop playing, reduce the mileage, or go to the vet.

About: Hi, I'm Meagan. I'm a dedicated animal lover offering full-time, reliable pet care in Virginia Beach. I recently opened my schedule full-time because I wanted to build something more personal and meaningful, providing consistent and affordable care for pets while giving owners real peace of mind. This is not something I do on the side. It is something I genuinely care about and take pride in. I treat ever pet like they are my own and focus on making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you are away. I believe in quality care over rushed visits. Every pet gets real attention, interaction, and care tailored to their personality and energy level. Whether your dog needs structured exercise, playtime, or calm companionship, I adjust to what keeps them happiest and most balanced. I am a great fit for busy professionals who need reliable help, pets who thrive on routine, and owners who want clear communication and consistent updates. I aim to make your life easier while making your pet feel completely at ease. I offer full-time availability, including mornings, evenings, and weekends. My schedule is flexible, which allows me to accommodate a variety of needs, including last minute requests when possible. Because I am doing this full-time, I am able to give your pet the time and attention they deserve rather than fitting visits in around another job. Your pet's safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I take the time to understand your pet's routine, behavior, and any specific needs so I can provide consistent and reliable care. I am attentive to details, respectful of your home, and committed to creating a calm and safe environment for your pet. You can expect clear communication, regular updates, and photos so you always feel connected and reassured while you are away.

About: I've been around cats since birth and have years of hands-on experience. I understand feline behavior and provide gentle, attentive care for every kitty and dogs and all animals. I’m available almost every day and can easily work around your schedule. Morning, afternoon, or evening visits whatever your pet needs, I’m happy to help! When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their usual routine to help them feel safe and comfortable. I make sure they’re fed, have fresh water, get playtime or walks if needed, and lots of love and attention. Whether it’s a cat, dog, or another pet, I’m patient and gentle, always respecting their personality and needs. I also keep the space clean and can send updates, so you know your pet is happy while you’re away.
“Brittany is simply just wonderful!!! We appreciate the great care and patience she showed to our baby, Gracie. She also took perfect care of our home. We are looking forward to seeing her again for another stay in April. Thanks so much for all you did.”

“Emma was wonderful! She came to our house for a meet and greet which was so helpful. Our animals instantly took to her. She had great communication, went above and beyond to vacuum up stuff my dog ate in the house, was attentive and offered to stay as long as we needed her. I am a nervous animal owner as they all are rescues and have health problems, and this was my first time having a stranger stay at my house. I can say this for sure, it does not feel like Emma was a stranger! Thank you so much Emma!”

“JaNasia is incredibly kind, patient, and responsible. She was able to handle our small zoo without issue and was always responsive and easy to reach. Will definitely be reaching out to book with her again!”

“Lauren took great care of my pets and my house was also well taken care of. Both my pets were tired and well loved when I got home which is always a relief! Lauren also does a good job of communicating and follows any care instructions very well. Will use her again!!”

About: I have been a dog owner for 10 years! I also have owned cats and ferrets in the past! I have experience with dogs ranging from puppies to seniors. I currently live in the Virginia Beach area but live and go to school at William and Mary where I have pets I care for regularly! I do work about 20 hours a week at my regular job but typically do not work until later in the afternoon. When I have taken care of pets in the past, I found it to be very easy to fit it in to my schedule. I will treat and respect your space like it is my own space. I will be sure to care for your pets as if they are my own.
About: I've been around dogs my entire life. I'm good with almost any kind of dog. Younger, older, big or small I've been around all kinds of dogs. My family has owned at least one dog since I was 5. I've helped to take care of my families dogs since I've been a kid that includes feeding, walking, playing (exercising) with our dogs. I work full time 8-5 Monday thru Friday. During the week I'm available most days after I get off work. Most weekends I will be available throughout the day to walk, check-in on your dog. I love being around dogs. I will treat and care for your dog as if it were my own. I will do any special requests you may have for your dog.
About: I’ve had experience watching dogs for my entire life. I know how to give medicine, including injections, to dogs and cats. I am also certified in first aid and have completed a “Stop the Bleed” course. I’m available most days with a few days notice. I am able to come over and walk your dogs or just spend time with your pets. I can easily come to you and do whatever is needed. Walks, feedings, etc. I am very attentive and love to play with your pets.
About: I've grown up surrounded by animals my entire life, and that hands-on experience is what truly sets me apart. I was raised with three cats (2 indoor, 1 outdoor), caring for them from kittenhood all the way through end-of-life care, including demanding daily routines and administering medication. I also have two dogs of my own: a Mini Australian Shepherd I raised from a puppy and personally trained. He’s so smart he keeps me on my toes, which means I know exactly how to handle high-energy, high-drive breeds and the escape artists of the dog world. The other is a large pitty mix we adopted at age two who came to us with leash pulling, reactivity, excessive barking, and rough play habits, all of which I've worked through and successfully managed. I know how to confidently handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments. Beyond cats and dogs, I've owned two guinea pigs, a hamster, and fish, so I understand the specific and often overlooked needs of small pets too. I've also assisted my sister in fostering cats, many of whom were shy, post-surgical, or required medication and special feeding instructions, so I'm completely comfortable with pets that need a little extra patience and TLC. Most recently, I pet sat a kitten over spring break 2026, and I'm always happy to sit for other pet owners' animals as well. As a sophomore in Alpha Chi Omega, I bring the same reliability, respect, and communication to pet sitting that I bring to everything I do. I treat every pet as if they were my own, follow your routines to the letter, and love keeping owners in the loop with regular updates, photos, and videos, as often as you'd like. If you're looking for someone experienced, trustworthy, and genuinely passionate about animals, I'm your person! I currently only have one exam left, so my schedule is essentially wide open! I'm in Blacksburg and available May 9–12 and May 16–22, with virtually nothing on my plate during those windows. Whether you need someone for a full house sit, multiple check-ins throughout the day, early morning visits, or late night drop-ins, I can make it work. Flexibility is my strong suit right now, so don't hesitate to reach out no matter the timing or frequency! I'm happy to care for pets both in my home and in yours! For in-home sitting and visits at your place, I'm completely comfortable following whatever routine, rules, and setup you have in place, your home, your way. If you'd like your pet to stay with me, I welcome that too! Just note that I live in an apartment, so I don't have a fenced-in yard, but my complex has a dog park and is surrounded by beautiful neighborhood nature trails that are perfect for walks and exploring. I'd also ask that you send everything your pet needs along with them (crate, food/water bowls, bed, toys, leash, etc.) so they have the comfort of their own familiar belongings, which is honestly better for them anyway!

About: I have over 5 years of experience caring for dogs of different breeds, sizes, and personalities. I’ve helped friends, neighbors, and family by walking, feeding, bathing, and caring for their pets while they were away. I’m patient, responsible, and very attentive to routines, safety, and each pet’s individual needs. I make sure pets feel comfortable, loved, and well cared for, and I always follow the owner’s instructions closely. I truly enjoy spending time with animals and treat every pet as if it were my own. Pet care fits very well into my daily routine. I’m available on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and again after 6:00 p.m. I’m also fully available on weekends, which allows me to provide consistent care, attention, and flexibility for walks, drop-in visits, and house sitting I always prioritize safety, trust, and respect when caring for pets in their own home. I carefully follow the owner’s instructions, maintain routines, ensure doors and gates are secure, and keep pets in a calm and safe environment. I treat every home and pet with responsibility, care, and attention.
About: I have taken care of both my own animals and other people's animals on and off for around 10 years. This includes walking, feeding, and playing with animals. Neighbors, friends, and families have relied on me to take care of their fur babies and have repeatedly asked me to take care of them due to how reliable and friendly I am. I have some experience in training dogs as well; I trained my own dog to become a certified therapy dog when I was in middle school. Both animals and their owners love me equally. I also wanted to mention that I can't change my name on this, but I go by Nico and not Stacy. My pronouns are he/him. Currently, I am in school to become and EMT and am also working a part-time job at a bowling alley of Tunnel Rd. I am looking to take care of your pet on days that I am either off work or not in school. I currently own a hamster that I love and adore. I allow her to run around in her ball while I am in my room. I would make sure your fur baby is safe, entertained, and happy while I am caring for them. I would never leave them without something they may need, and I would allow them to play, exercise, etc under my supervision.
Sigma pet parents share their Rover experiences
Devi was incredible! She took the best care of our senior pug who also has some medical issues. She stayed overnight with him and we came back to a happy, healthy pup. We are so thankful to have met her and will certainly be reaching out for all our dog sitting needs moving forward. ❤️

Erika was fantastic! First time hiring her. She was great with our pup. She was super responsive and made us feel really comfortable being away! She made pup feel comfortable too. She treated our house with respect and was very professional. Highly recommend!

Leila took such wonderful care of both my dog Matteo and my cat Diesel while I was away. Matteo immediately loved her, and she made sure he got plenty of attention and exercise. What really impressed me, though, was how she connected with Diesel. He’s extremely shy and almost never comes out when new people are around—but somehow Leila won him over! By the end of the visit, he was not only comfortable but eating right out of her hand. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing both of my pets were happy, safe, and cared for like family. Leila sent thoughtful updates and photos, which I really appreciated. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, compassionate sitter. We feel lucky to have found her!
