About: I’ve loved animals all my life and felt a deep connection with them. They have been some of my greatest teachers. I’ve provided loving care for cats, dogs, and rabbits throughout my adult years, and each one has been an important part of my world. “Emily did a wonderful job with our special needs cat, Dakota. Dakota is paralyzed in the back after having been hit by a car years ago. He gets around ok dragging his back legs but he has to have his bladder expressed three times a day. Emily had experience doing this in the past (I think in some kind of vet assistant capacity or something like that) and successfully managed Dakota when we went out of town for a few days. Dakota stayed at Emily's house with her cats and it all worked out fine. Emily's house is so cat friendly with cat climbing things all around and Emily even mentioned that down the road she might have cat grass (that our cat loves to eat) since she grows it herself. We were also happy that Emily was fine with us leaving all Dakota's regular collection of favorite things: his little cat house, cat bed, and even the ramp we made for him to climb up on couches. It was so nice for us to think of Dakota in a friendly home rather than in a cage at the vet. We loved how Emily was great about communicating both in terms of photos showing Dakota was doing well and also asking intelligent questions to make sure the expressing of the bladder was going well. When we picked Dakota up, he was in fine shape and clearly had been well-taken-care of. We'll definitely use Emily again!”

About: Have owned dogs for over 20 years, pet sit for friends, family, and neighbors. I am over cautious and protective when it comes to animals, I'm also active so love walking dogs, throwing a ball for them, or taking them to our local lake for a swim. I have tons of patience for shy dogs, I have dealt with rescue dogs and know when to get close or not to an animal. I have never had an incident where I have had a dog become aggressive with me. I have taken my own dog to obedience school a few times and learned a few key trips for working with difficult dogs or puppies. I have taken care of puppies within the past three years and am comfortable with the extra care they require. I have a solid connection with our local vet and emergency animal hospital and am able to handle dogs who need shots or medications administered. I work from home and have several pets already needing care. Bathroom breaks, walks, ball throwing, catnip time, all of it already happens in my home. We have several pet fences within our home and a puppy proof first floor. If a pet is okay of leash then we walk them around our 4 acres throwing a ball or whatever the pet likes. If a pet is not okay off leash, then we just walk them on a leash on our land every 1.5 or 2 hours or as needed. Water bowls are everywhere, no chemicals are on site within reach of curious puppies, and no cars move very quickly on our driveway and everyone who does arrive at our home knows we have several pets and need to slow down. We have owned dogs for over 25 years and have never had any of our pets get injured.

I strive to make your dogs stay at my farm special; my repeat client pups are always excited to be here when they’re dropped off. I love dogs, and any pup who’s staying on the farm will be treated like one of my own. I work from home, so i’m almost always home with the pups, and we spend a lot of time outside, hiking, walking, running, or working in the yard. I've been dog sitting since I was young, on and off. I'm also a livestock farmer who cares for livestock guardian dogs, cats, goats, pigs, chickens, and other animals on a daily basis at work. I have a pup of my own, 3 year old Luddy, who makes life better in every way! I'm comfortable providing basic veterinary care, based upon my livestock farming professional background, and will make sure your pet gets lots of exercise and play outside as i'm an avid runner and hiker. I work from home, as a farmer, so your dog will almost never be left alone. They can hang out in the house with me or out in the garden while i work, or in a fenced in portion of the yard. We usually go on a long hike, walk, or run every afternoon, and the pups are invited to sleep anywhere they’d like, whether it’s the couch, my bed, or their own bed or crate. I live in a house on a dead end road with 300 acres of wooded trails right outside my back door, where I take my pup Luddy on long hikes or trail runs every day. We’re far away from any car traffic and have a fenced in portion of the yard for pups to run around in. I spend a lot of time at home working in the garden, playing with Luddy, hiking, or running. Luddy is a very friendly pup who loves to play and wrestle with other dogs, and tends to tire his friends out...at which point he loves to fall asleep curled around another pup :)
