On top of pet-sitting and day trip/walking experience I have experience as an assistant groomer from working for The Green Groomer in Northampton, MA which you are welcome to get in touch with as a reference. I also worked at a Dog Daycare in the Boston area before moving to Western MA, where I was involved with many responsibilities surrounding the pups including providing their meals, pick-ups/drop-offs, de-escalation of conflict, and general moderation of behavior. Working in this field has granted me the opportunity to work with dogs of all temperaments, ages, and sizes and has taught me how to interact with pups from all walks of life. On top of that I have experience with bathing, nails, and ear cleanings from my time at the Green Groomer. My schedule is extremely flexible, with open availability during the week before 3PM, making check-ins during the work day hassle free, and my shift never getting out later than 10:30PM, so overnight boardings are still not a problem during my work week. I also have Friday-Sundays off so long weekend boardings are always an option. Please let me know in advance of any house rules for your pup (i.e furniture rules, dietary restrictions, routine scheduling) and I will be sure to follow them with the same consistency you would. In regards to boarding with me they would be boarded in a pet-free, smoke-free, child-free condo with a large unfenced yard in the back for leashed outings when needed!

“Jaclyn goes above and beyond for the pets she cares for. We got lots of updates and pictures throughout the weekend, and the house was spotless when we arrived home. It felt like our pets were getting a vacation and not just adequate care. My dog was happy and exhausted on Sunday night. Our cat gave Jaclyn a bit of a hard time and was being protective of his space. Jaclyn was patient and a good sport, and Louie got over it quickly! Everyone was happy and stress-free when we got back. Absolutely nothing but good things to say! We'll be lucky if Jaclyn is available next time we need pet care.”

About: I have been around dogs for 20 years. I have pet sat for old dogs who can’t really walk any more. I also have worked with younger puppies. I am currently a college student. During the semester I can do most weekends, and can do morning and night shifts during the weekdays. Once the summer starts I can do all days. I am good at following owners instructions. If dogs need crated or need training I am capable of doing that. I also can walk dogs and keep them safe.

About: I've loved animals forever and have cared for everything from a cockatiel to a chameleon, Great Pyrenees to Pekapoo. I have worked as a veterinary technician and earned an Animal Science degree, and can’t wait to provide the best possible care for your animals. I love hiking on the weekends, and will take your dogs on anywhere from a leisurely walk in the neighborhood to a more strenuous 5 mile hike in one of the local state parks, depending on their needs. I live in a dog-friendly apartment complex with plenty of space to walk during the day, and a cozy, quiet apartment for a calm and relaxing environment. I don’t have any dogs or cats of my own, so if your pet does not like other animals, that is no problem here. I am looking forward to meeting you and your animals! I am a PhD student at Clemson, and typically am home most of the day. I can accommodate any time-consuming medical or behavioral needs. On week days, I typically do a long walk in the evening, and weekends typically involve a longer walk or hike in a local park. I have a quiet home with plenty of space for your pets to relax. I can crate if the animals prefer it, but do not require it. I am typically gone during weekdays for around 2 hours, and send most weekends at home or out hiking. I would love to have your pet join me on adventures, or just stay home for a relaxing weekend! All pets are leashed when outside, regardless of recall training- even with the best behaved pet, things can go wrong! I always ensure dogs are comfortable and safe regarding heat outside, and have easy access to water at all times.

About: When I was growing up, I was always caring for at least two dogs and cats at my family’s house. Neighbors and friends also made me their go-to dog sitter when they went away. I have loved caring for two greyhounds, four loveable slobbering hunting hounds, a giant golden who always thought he was a puppy, and one super sweet bullmastiff. Since my landlords do not allow pets, I am looking to give my attention to someone else's canine. I am comfortable with all sizes of dogs. I especially appreciate dogs that behave well on leashes and like big walks. I would like to help care for dogs in the Pioneer Valley, ideally around Amherst, Deerfield, and Northampton.
