“I really appreciate Juan for being able to take my dog for a day of day care at the last possible minute. We had came in from out of town which added to my nerves about leaving him in someone's care but Juan sent me constant updates of Clue playing and enjoying himself while in his care. If we are ever in town again and need services, we will definitely reach out! Thanks again!!”

“Sarah was an amazing pet sitter for my bulldog, Canelo! She was quick to respond, very courteous, and incredibly responsible. I felt at ease knowing my pup was in such caring hands. I highly recommend Sarah to anyone looking for a trustworthy and dependable sitter!”

“Jessica has been an absolute BLESSING! She took care of my two doggies while I was in town. She sent updates often, was very flexible and I can’t even express how thankful I am! She’s very sweet my girls love her so much. Thank you so so so much 🙏🏻”

“She cares just like family. She takes such good care of Quatro 💞. He loves going to her home. It’s clean and tidy which is very important to me. It brings me peace that I know that Quatro is being taken care of in such an excellent manner.”

“Apollo & Frankie enjoyed a funday with Abel & Alisa along with their furry babies. They are well taken care of with lots of running around in the yard & playing puzzles, watching tv, eating snacks. This was there 2nd visit & definitely would schedule another fun day in the near future. Thanks to both of them.”

“Sabrina did a great job taking care of Prince. Everything went smoothly, and my dog was well looked after and comfortable. Communication was clear, and I appreciated knowing my dog was in good hands. I’d definitely be happy to use her again and would recommend Sabrina to others!”

About: Hello, my name is Diana! My family and I absolutely love animals, and with over 20 years of experience caring for pets, they’re more than just animals to us, they’re family. I grew up in a house full of wagging tails and purring companions, and now, as a stay-at-home mom, my husband, kids, and I continue that tradition. We adore our pets and know how important it is to make them feel safe, loved, and happy, especially when you can’t be with them. That’s why we started offering a little “staycation” for dogs, a cozy, fun, and loving home away from home. Your furry friends will enjoy all the love they deserve, with plenty of playtime, belly rubs, and cuddles. We’ll make sure they feel right at home with us. My two dogs, Bella (a Chihuahua) and Cookie (a Yorkie), are incredibly friendly and sweet. They’ll provide your pets with loving companionship and playful energy, making them feel welcome and comfortable. Our warm and cozy home has a spacious fenced yard that offers plenty of shade. Your pet will be free to explore both the house and backyard, as well as relaxing in their own comfortable space. I’m home all day, so I can provide frequent potty breaks and give your furry friend lots of attention. Daily walks around our friendly neighborhood are part of the routine, ensuring your pet gets plenty of exercise and stimulation. I also have experience administering oral medication and caring for senior dogs, ensuring they receive the attention they need. We’d love to welcome your pets into our family. So, if you’re looking for a safe and loving place for your dogs to stay, come join our Sleepover Squad! I’m available for boarding seven days a week, including weekends, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Rest assured, your dogs will receive all the care, attention, and love they deserve while you’re away. For drop-in visits and dog walking, your pet will be in great hands. I’ll give them all the care and attention they need, right in the comfort of their own home. Please share all the details with me, let me know if there are other pets in your home, any special needs your pet may have, or specific behaviors I should be aware of. Also, tell me what your fur babies love most so I can make each visit or walk extra fun and enjoyable for them! Communication is very important to me, so I make it a priority to keep you updated on how your pet is doing. I’ll send regular updates and pictures throughout the day or during the time of the visit to keep you posted. Additionally, we can schedule a meet-and-greet before the stay or visit to ensure everything feels just right for you and your pets.
“Awesome experience with Norma! Communication was great from the start. Norma gave updates which gave us a peace of mind. Would highly recommend!”

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover with a soft spot for animals of all shapes, sizes, types and breeds. Whether your pup needs a walk, some playtime, or loving care while you’re away, I’m here to help! I provide reliable, caring, and personalized attention to make sure your furry friend feel and are safe and happy. Pet Owner Pet & WildLife Rescuer Volunteer Foster Addition references included in photos. I Love All “My” Doggies 🐶 & Kitties 🐱!! 🥰 I also have experience with bunnies, birds, aquatics, and reptiles. I have a flexible schedule and am home often with the exception of errands, appointments or other Rover (and non~Rover side jobs), throughout the day and week. Any exceptions to my availability is regularly updated on my Rover calendar. House/pet sitting; I am available to discuss this option, but as a pet parent, can be challenging to accept but I definitely will work with you on the details, to make sure everybody’s taken care of in a timely manner, ie potty breaks. I have done pet care in my home along with overnight stays at client’s homes. I have also done dog/puppy and kitten fostering for local area shelters since 2019, as well as on my own, rescuing countless pets and reuniting lost pets with their owners, for decades. I treat all animals the same way I would want mine treated. Your beloved pet becomes THE VIPet, in my home. My pets are fully vaccinated and on monthly flea and tick preventative. I am relatively new to Rover as a pet care provider. True to my nature and love for animals I fall in love and care for each, and every one, I care for in and outside of my home. For dog walking services: Summertime: I prefer before 11 AM or after 7 PM, to avoid excessive overheating of your pet and the ground and when there is normally shade throughout the typical neighborhood in which they can be walked.
“Erika was amazing!!!! She kept me updated through out the day and accommodated my work hours. I will definitely be going to her from now! If you are thinking of booking with her do it! Your furry friend will receive great care!”

About: Hi! I’m Rodrigo. More than just a dog sitter/walker, I work professionally with dogs every day. As a dog parent of 10 years and a professional dog trainer who has worked with countless dogs of all sizes and personalities, I am not just a dog lover but someone you can feel at ease to trust with your four-legged family member. 🙂 Puppies, seniors, working dogs, reactive dogs, and so on. (: Currently have an open a flexible and open schedule as working with dogs is my full time focus. Please feel free to message me for scheduling questions (: I currently live in an apartment so I only accept about two or three boarding dogs at a time. Usually boarding dogs are crated within the home for safety. All training or fun will be had outside so the home if for resting and relaxing during the hotter times of the day.
“We had a great meet in greet in advance of Koda's 1st Day Care booking. Abbie & Patrick are very kind and responsible people with a great fenced yard, 2 sweet poodles, a designated indoor space for dogs, and a nice home. During Koda's 1st Day Care stay, Abbie & Patrick were great! Easy drop off and pick up, they sent lots of pictures and updates, Koda had both inside and outside time, and even a short walk. Our pup Koda is well trained for his age, but he is only 1 year old, so he is still learning and easily distracted. Abbie, Patric, and their 2 poodles were very patient with Koda during his stay and we hope we can continue to work with them.”

“Snowflake was well taken care of for the day while we got to explore the not so dog friendly parts of San Antonio. Breanna was very responsive, friendly, and flexible making it a great experience for us out of towners!”

“Fernando was a life saver! I had an emergency where I had to book few hours before, he was available to take care of my Benito and Camila! He sent lots of update of them having fun with him and lots of cuddles! Fernando is very caring and I could truly see that he cared for them like if they were their own!! Thank you Fernando for saving my day!!! I recommend him!!”

“Caroline is the best, so sweet and accommodating!! The pups loved her and her dogs and they came home exhausted. She sent pictures throughout the day and played with them in the yard. I will be taking them to Caroline weekly :)”

“Brian and his wife were wonderful. My pup is very attached to me but she had a good time with them for doggy daycare. Even though it was just for the day they sent me picture updates and were super responsive to any questions or comments. She also came home cleaner then when she got there. ? I would highly recommend and will use them again if I’m in town. Thanks so much!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Shavano Park
We are so lucky to have found Lorena. We were visiting from Dallas and brought our two dogs. One has separation anxiety. Lorena accepted us last minute without any problem. She communicated with us throughly and sent so many pictures throughout the time my dogs were with her. Thank you, Lorena!

Elisabeth and Gary took great care of Jet. He stayed in their home for the day and came home exhausted from playing so much. They took great care to make sure he would get along with their pack safely. Jet is a puppy and needs more supervision than an adult and I can tell they watched him carefully in play sessions with other pups. When they faced an issue with Jet not wanting to take naps, they let me know immediately but also had the experience/knowledge on what to do. They are both very experienced with dogs and I would trust them to watch Jet in the future.

This was Shaggy’s first day of doggy daycare, so I was understandably a little anxious. Alexis was wonderful from start to finish. She took the time to answer my questions, helped me feel comfortable, and treated Shaggy with kindness and care throughout the day. I really appreciated the updates and photos, and it was clear that she was attentive to his needs and focused on making sure he had a positive experience. Shaggy came home happy, and I came away feeling very confident in Alexis’s care. I’m grateful for the peace of mind she gave me and would happily book with her again.

We were at total ease knowing Karen was taking care of our boy for a few hours while we went to a Spurs game. From the moment we met for the meet and greet, we could tell Karen is purposeful and attentive while creating a safe and comfortable environment for her fur-guests. Her home is set up perfectly and you can tell she truly cares about what she does. Communication is top notch! We can’t wait to book with her again!

Christopher sensed my hesitation from day 1 and he reassured me that Zeno would be in the right hands. He certainly was. Christophers professionalism and kindness made for a great week for Zeno. He provided regular updates and made sure that Zeno had everything he needed, food, water, trips outside. Would definitely highly recommend him!

Arianny and her partner took great care of Ozzie while I was at dinner. He made a new friend and watched movies and chilled. She was patient with feeding him (multiple attempts) and took him out for a quick walk. Ozzie was very comfortable with his visit and went right into their house without looking back. Given the last minute nature of my booking I was super happy to find such great care.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Shavano Park commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
