“Thanks Sophie for taking good care of our dog Hobbes! We had Sophie watch Hobbes while we attended a concert in Berkeley. We had drinks at a spot in Oakland beforehand and her place was a quick stop on the way to the venue. Hobbes seemed to have a blast playing while there. She shared some photos which was a nice touch. We will gladly reach out again if we need pet sitting in the area.”

“We had a great first daycare with Nikolai! He is very responsive and easy to coordinate with. It was nice to know Jax was having a fun day with other dogs and nice people. Excited to go back again!!”

“We have a really shy/sensitive mini-Aussie doodle who’s nervous around new people. Anchisa and her partner Michael were so so kind to let us visit with them before booking to “test the waters”. We were so genuinely surprised at how quickly our pup settled in! We’ve already booked for a second sitting session! Thanks so much ❤️”

“Ashley helped us out in a pinch and exceeded our expectations! She cared for our dog and quickly helped acclimate our anxious dog. We’ll definitely be asking Ashley for services in the future! Thanks for loving our pup like your own :)”

“If you're anything like me, the guilt of being away at work all day weighs on me, but knowing that instead, my fur-baby is now getting tons of attention, pets, walks, and love puts my mind at ease. Getting cuddles from Van Joseph and Matthew, the company of their sweet little dogs, and soft blankets to sleep in is priceless! I got so many precious photos which brightened my day! Overjoyed to have found Van Joseph and Matthew to care for my sweet girl Petunia!!”

“Taylor is fantastic. I was in town for work with my wee guy and she took care of him during the times I couldn't have him with me. Rowlf and Taylor made a fast friends. They played and walked and cuddled, she took tons of pics and kept me up to date about their time together, and really supported me while I was working. I'm so grateful I found her. Taylor is super friendly, thorough, and loving. It can be so hard for all of us to trust the care of our babies to a stranger. You can't go wrong here!”

About: I grew up with three German Shepherds (Amber, Molly and Sassy) and one Labrador (Hector) in our family. I'm a confident and caring dog owner / dog sitter and have enough experience with my own dogs and looking after other peoples' dogs, to know if a dog would be a good fit in the local environments that we live, walk, play and sleep in. My work is project based and if I'm not away I'm working from home. My wife works from home on Thursday and Friday as well and we have a 2.5 year old German Shepherd / Chow (/probably a few other breeds) mix, called Millie, who loves people, other dogs, chasing squirrels and barking at skateboarders. Millie has a lot of energy and goes for sniff walks and walk walks at least three times a day. She's very good at communicating when she needs to go to the bathroom and gets plenty of outdoor time throughout the day in between naps. On days when I'm available I have the time to give dogs the love and attention they need or want. To watch them when they play together, to play with them, walk them, give them plenty of time for sniffs, relaxing, sleeping and to make sure they feel comfortable, safe and content. And of course, to keep you updated with photos and messages about how their day or night is going.

“I think my girl Maze had a great day at the doggie lounge. Latricia was wonderful to work with and she has everything figured out - helping Maze get settled in, making friends with another dog, feeding time. Loved the picture updates too. Thanks!! :)”

“This is our second time booking doggy day care with Danielle and her dog Nala. Danielle does a great job. She keeps our dog safe and well entertained. We appreciate her updates of messages and photos throughout the day. Looking forward to the next time.”

About: I’ve always believed dogs are little gifts wrapped in fur and wiggles. I spent 12 amazing years with my husky, who taught me all about loyalty, joy, and the art of a good zoomie. I bring that same love and fun energy to every pup I care for! I’m usually available in the evenings as I work an office job on site and sometimes from home. I’m available only during the day on weekends. I’m in my home or yours, I make sure pets feel safe, relaxed, and entertained—long walks, or a couple of short ones for older dogs. Lots of snuggles included.
“She was soo great. My girlfriend and I had a last minute trip to San Francisco planned and she was able to accept Padfoot without a hitch. I told her about his temperment and she was wonderful. I brought our pup home and he passed out which is a good sign.”

“Claudio was amazing with Xico. Xico does not always get along with other dogs, but Claudio has the ability to ease any tension or fear Xico may feel around new dogs. Claudio went above and beyond to make Xico feel at home. They even went to Alameda beach! I know Xico felt safe and happy due to Claudio’s warm energy. I’m so happy Xico could socialize and have fun this week!”

“Nathalie is a fantastic dog sitter. She gave our dog, Obi, a ton of extra care and attention since it was his first time at her house and sent so many updates, photos, and videos. She even took him on a 3 mile walk!”

“Cody had a great day with Thea and Arlo. Cody got to explore the yard, play with Arlo, and chill while I was at work. Thea was very responsive to set up drop off and pick up times even when my schedule changed slightly and sent me pictures during the day. I highly recommend Thea!”

Shafter dog parents share their Rover experiences
Tamara was great from our first meet and greet. She put me at ease with her calm demeanor and her knowledge about dogs. Kahlo is a newly adopted dog so I am still anxious leaving her with others and Tamara answered all my questions and also shared knowledge about dogs which I still desperately need. She was quick to respond to my texts and gave me updates throughout the day. I felt at ease throughout my workday. Kahlo spent the day playing with her dog, Sidney and was happy and tired when I picked her up. I am very thankful I found Tamara. She is a true gem.

Josie was great! She responded promptly to my request for an all-day sitter for my newly adopted dog. I was anxious leaving my dog, Kahlo in the care of someone new but Josie made me feel comfortable immediately. She sent pictures and updates of a very happy dog. Kahlo even ate all her food and she tends to be a picky eater. I would happily let Kahlo stay with Josie again. It was a super positive experience. Thanks again Josie!

Rachel was a great dog sitter for our active and energetic pittie mix. She was super flexible, communicative and just overall a really awesome person who you could tell really loves animals/dogs. 10/10 would recommend Rachel and will definitely be booking with her for future services.

Tony and Elizabeth did a great job making Lionel feel at home. He appeared very comfortable with them and with Cookie and Miles as well, even though he can get nervous around bigger dogs. They took him to the dog park and provided plenty of pictures and updates of his stay. Would not hesitate to book again!

Alejandra was a great sitter for Vermilion! He is an excited puppy full of energy and it looked like he had a great time! Alejandra took pictures and when V wasn’t playing with toys and Nemo, he was following Alejandra around. He was a happy pup when I came to pick him up. I’m going to book with Alejandra again in the future!

It was last minute searching for a dog sitter. Dacyl responded my request pretty quickly and invited my dogs to meet her dog before I decided. She was very sweet with Jet and Luna and sent me several photos and messages. They had a great time with her. Thank you, Dacyl!

Nasreddine and her bf were friendly and efficient with the drop off and return! Both dogs only stayed a couple hours but seemed to enjoy their time with their hosts! Above all, Nasreddine was SO understanding, flexible, and accommodating. My dogs escaped that morning and it was a flurry of whether I needed to cancel or not. Luckily, they came back after their little adventure and Nasreddine was happy to watch them even after all the chaos. Thank yooou!!

Svetlana and her husband showed Monte so much care and love during his stay. Svetlana was a great communicator and I received the best photo updates throughout the day. And Monte even smelled nicer and was cleaned when I picked him up! Would definitely recommend.

Jason and his wife are some of the nicest people. They took good care of my pups during their stay. Kept me updated and very accommodating. I ran into some last minute work situations on the day of my pups' stay and was going to be late to our agreed and planned pick up time. Jason accommodated to my late arrival request and assured me the pups will be well taken care of in the extra hour. Will definitely come back should I ever need a sitter again!
