About: I’ve taken care of dogs of every kind since forever. I have raised dogs, trained all ages, cared for many dogs, and even saved some. I am currently in school for my Vet Tech Certification, so my hours will probably lean towards early mornings for class and evenings will be my free time. In my home I walk my dogs, brush, nail trims, so I can definitely do that for any dog, all dogs deserved to be pampered. I am also confident in giving medication to pets.
About: I am a healthcare professional who has luxury of working from home. I have been pet sitting for Rover for over five years now. I love the different animals, my dog loves having play-friends, and I know how it hurts my heart when I have to leave my dog for long stretches. I would love to know they are in good hands with a dog lover. That is what I can provide. All animals love me. Plus, I have one labradoodle and two kitties. They love to have visitors! Rest easy knowing your fur baby is not home alone. Will walk, feed breakfast and dinner. I live in Water Valley. Note: I prefer watching other doodle breeds. All dogs must get along with kitties. If you are unsure, and your dog chases rabbits or squirrels, it most likely will not be a good fit. My kitties love playing with the dogs. I work from home so am with the fur babies all day long. We take potty breaks every 2-4 hours. While I’m working, I move the doggy beds to my office so my “assistants” can supervise me 😉 After work we will have play time then later afternoon we might have nap time. Feedings are around 6:00 am and 5:00 pm. We settle down for bed around 9 and wake around 6. We live in an attached home and have a four-foot fence surrounding the yard. Pets will always be supervised while in yard. If you think they will try to jump fence, it may not be a good fit.
About: Growing up, I was always interested in learning about different dog breeds and had aspirations of becoming a veterinarian. Though I did not become a veterinarian, I do have a solid background and understanding of animal healthcare and wellbeing thanks to my undergraduate studies (B.S. Zoology, some Animal Science) and ongoing interest in pet health and dog training. While still in high school, I worked briefly in a pet boarding facility where I prepared morning and evening meals, administered medications, and supervised outdoor play for large groups of dogs. From this experience supervising large groups of dogs, I became more familiar with canine body language and behavioral cues. My sheepadoodle, Ivy, came home to me at about 10 weeks old; so I did potty train and leash train her with positive reinforcement using her favorite treats. I also had the opportunity to foster a litter of 5 puppies in college and potty trained them as well. In addition to my experience with puppies, I have cared for a few senior pups including my brother’s aging border collie and pitbull mix and my late Great Boxer (Great Dane/boxer), Grover. In my experience caring for senior pups, I became familiar with the medical issues that come along with increasing age such as arthritis, incontinence, deafness/blindness, and even cancer to name a few. My own pups have also had sensitive skin, digestive issues, and recurrent ear infections. Managing these health issues at times required daily cleanings, ointment applications, and attention to ensure that wounds or infections healed without interference. I work part-time in a hospital lab, with a fixed schedule. I work 4 days in a row, then I am off for 10 days. When I am not working in the lab, I am at home caring for my two young children (ages 3 and almost 2) and 5 year-old sheepadoodle. We enjoy spending time outside in the backyard or going for walks around the neighborhood. Any dog that steps paw inside my home is treated like family. If your precious pup requires *special* treatment, I try my best to adhere to any instructions provided. I have a large crate, along with dog blankets, if your pup is into that sort of thing. It is spacious enough for any standard medium to large sized dog. I do have a decently sized backyard with 6 ft privacy fencing all around, and larger smooth rocks surrounding the grass. If your pup is not great with tiny humans, loud noises, or just the general chaos of a young family, please consider a sitter with a calmer environment that better meets their needs.
