“Nicole took such amazing care of our dog Dakota while we were away! We’ve used her twice now, and both times Dakota came home sooo happy. You can really tell Nicole genuinely cares about the dogs she watches. She even recommended a great groomer for Dakota, which we really appreciated. She has a nice backyard, and her kids and dogs are super friendly, so Dakota had plenty of fun and social time while staying there. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing Dakota was in such good hands. We highly recommend Nicole — definitely a 5-star experience!”

About: I started training dogs at 12yrs old… Ive trained my boy to be a world champion two years in a row. I train service dogs, police, protection, and more! Dogs make my world go round. I train dogs for a living. And would love to help others relive their babies while they’re at work, and I have free time to help! I care for your pet the exact way you ask for ! They are your pride and joy. I treat each dog as if they were my own, and make sure I’m a person I would trust to leave my dogs with

“Benny just had a wonderful overnight stay with Gwen and her family And that’s exactly how he was treated like one of the family I can’t thank them enough for being so kind understanding and patient with him. He is still a puppy and still learning how to be a perfect houseguest. I highly recommend this wonderful Family to anyone who wants the best care for their dog”

“Kristen was one of the best sitters my pup has had. Her and her family took such good care of Mochi. Mochi had so much fun and felt at home. Kristen sent me many pictures and updates throughout the long weekend which I loved. She was flexible with changing the pickup time too. Highly recommend!”

“I can't say enough positive things about Paola! Our dog has separation anxiety and is always very anxious when we're not with him, but somehow Paola made him feel right at home and completely comfortable during his stay. She sent us multiple pictures every day and was very at ease knowing our dog was being very well taken care of!”

“Luz and Alessandro are kind and loving and responsible dog lovers. They have a fenced and gated yard. A wooded trail almost in their back yard that they would walk my Daisy girl through. My dog loves to run and catch frisbees. I received videos of her getting that activity she loves so much. While we appreciate this, what stands out is their response to keeping my dog safe. Luz and Alessandro had a repeat 2nd dog reserved to stay a few days later. However, and unfortunately that dog showed some aggression towards Our dog. They would not accept the dog keeping. My husband and I appreciated their strong stance on this. So important to feel that your dog is in great hands. Thank you two so much. You made our personal situation better. I will recommend these two.”

“Judy was fantastic with our Zoey girl! My kids loved getting regular pictures to see what their pup was up to. It was clear that Zoey was in the best hands and given lots of love, attention and cuddles. We would definitely book with Judy again and highly recommend her for anyone in need of care for their pet. Thanks so much Judy!! You and your family are awesome!!”

“Matthew and his family were great hosts to our Welsh Terrier Winnie. She is an active dog with a lot of attitude. With their two dogs Henry and Jacks they were able to keep her running, walking, and content. We know our dog had a great time when she comes home spent, worn out, and sleeping for two days. Matthew sent pictures each day and Winnie had a blast. Two thumbs up and we will gladly use Matthew again..if he'll let our 17lb beast back in their home!”

About: I am a work from home dog mom and love my German Shorthaired Pointer, Remi. We go to the beach, park and go on neighborhood walks every day. I have the availability and capacity to have another dog to tag along. I have fostered dogs in the past and love helping a dog have a safe and comfortable place to stay! I work from home and take my dog for a walk every few hours or bring her to the beach or the park on my lunch break. Dogs have plenty of toys and comfortable places to relax and play while I work. Remi would love to keep your pup company! I have the room to have your dog set up however they need. If your pup is crate trained, I have a spare one to set up for them with all the comfy things needed to put in it. I have lots of treats and toys for pups to play with and a safe, dog-friendly neighborhood to walk them in.
About: I have always been a lover of animals. I grew up with cats, dogs, rabbits, guniea pigs, and hamsters. Every single animal I’ve had has been given the love they deserve. Giving them all their play time, I have a huge fenced in yard for dogs to run around in and play fetch. If pets need their own space, I can accommodate that. If you need me to take extra time out for them I can offer that as well! I’m here to help! I am a hairstylist by trade for 27 years and love what I do, I work part time to be home more with my children. Being a hairstylist, I love helping my clients look and feel good. That being said, I figured I can help people in other ways as well and being that I love animals, why not help people with their pets by taking care of them! I take my dog on daily walks, except for Tuesdays and Saturdays but those are the days I work in the salon, but my husband takes our dog out. She also will go to my mother's house in the summer to swim with us as she absolutely loves the pool! Being that I am home most of the week, watching dogs fits well into my schedule. I will treat other people's pets as if they were my own. As long as they are potty trained, I will allow them to walk freely in my home, I have a huge fenced in yard for them to run and play. As long as the weather is beautiful out, I will take them on walks as well with my family! Myself and my family will treat your pets as if they were ours! We will show them love the entire time they are with us!
“Shanice took great care of my dog Duke. I received tons of pictures and felt so comfortable seeing my happy dog being cared for so well! I would absolutely use Shanice again to take care of Duke! Jenn”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Seaside Park
I must say…. I was very apprehensive about leaving my rescue dog with a stranger. Antionette was so responsive throughout the process. Lucy is very nervous around new people and she made a point to stop over with her dog so they can meet before the overnight stay. Not only did she communicate constantly with me, she sent me lots of pictures and put my mind at ease. She also kept the house in order and watered my plants. Antionette is a true animal lover and we will be using her again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
