“Benny just had a wonderful overnight stay with Gwen and her family And that’s exactly how he was treated like one of the family I can’t thank them enough for being so kind understanding and patient with him. He is still a puppy and still learning how to be a perfect houseguest. I highly recommend this wonderful Family to anyone who wants the best care for their dog”

“We had a wonderful initial meet and greet with Carol. Our dog doesn't take to everyone but immediately took to Carol. We dropped our dog off feeling very good about Carol. While we were away Carol sent pictures of our dog relaxing on the couch looking very happy and healthy. When we returned our dog was obviously happy to see us. Carol said the two of them had a nice time together. I would definitely recommend Carol and we will use her again in the future when needed.”

“Lauren and her family are amazing! She was referred to us by another person on Rover because she only takes one dog at a time. We arranged a meet and greet and Mia loved her instantly! Lauren was so accommodating when it came to drop off and pick up time. She sent multiple pictures and messages to let us know that our pup was doing well. We are so glad we found someone we could trust!”

“Crystal took exception care of Bailer wile we were away for 10 days. She sent pictures on a regular basic and kept us updated on how he was doing! I will defiantly be using Crystal again when we go away.”

“Luz & Alessandro took wonderful care of my senior boy, Gunner. We got consistent updates and photos, which was very much appreciated. Any time I needed to contact them, they were always available. This is a very sweet couple who clearly care about the animals they bring into their home.”

About: I’ve been caring for pets for over 25 years and have always had a deep love for animals. I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs, and I take the time to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, administering medications, or simply providing companionship, I treat every pet as if they were my own. I’m dependable, patient, and committed to giving you peace of mind by providing attentive, compassionate care and regular updates while you’re away. As a teacher, I have a flexible schedule that allows me plenty of time to give pets the attention they deserve. During the school year, I’m available before and after school, on weekends, holidays, and school breaks. In the summer, my schedule is much more open, giving me extra time for walks, playtime, cuddle sessions, and maintaining your pet’s normal routine. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. While I don’t have a fenced yard, I make up for it with frequent leashed walks, outdoor play, and lots of one-on-one attention. I carefully follow each pet’s routine, including feeding schedules, medications, exercise, and any special instructions you provide. I treat every pet like they’re part of my own family and will keep you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.
About: Hello, me and my husband both reside in Beachwood, NJ. We have two sweet male cats, Dinky and Boo who are 13 years old & neutered. They are crate trained & do very well with dogs. I grew up around loving and taking care of animals. I have had chickens and ducks, rabbits, dogs, & cats. I have volunteered at local animal shelters & rescued as well. Animals are my passion. I was a LMT & CHHA in the state of NJ, and currently a stay-at-home mom of our two year old daughter. In my spare time, I would absolutely love to play and care for your animals. I own a home on a .25 acre lot with a spacious yard and a walking path right outside our fence! You don’t have to worry about walks or playtime, your dog will get exactly the love and attention they deserve. I currently work from 8am to 5pm. However, my husband has a full-time remote job which allows us to have constant care and attention for your animal! I have a fenced yard on a 0.25 acre lot. This allows for access to our backyard as well as a walking path around the corner.
“Rose was wonderful. She took care of Teddy so well. Her backyard is a fantastic playground for dogs. She kept in touch frequently, sent pictures and everything. When I arrived to pick Tedddy up he raced for her backdoor and not my car. I think that says it all”

“What a great couple they took such great care of our rockstar we even FaceTime to in Jamaica great great great people And very loving will use her again for sure she’s worth more than five stars THANK YOU SO MUCH”
About: I have always been a lover of animals. I grew up with cats, dogs, rabbits, guniea pigs, and hamsters. Every single animal I’ve had has been given the love they deserve. Giving them all their play time, I have a huge fenced in yard for dogs to run around in and play fetch. If pets need their own space, I can accommodate that. If you need me to take extra time out for them I can offer that as well! I’m here to help! I am a hairstylist by trade for 27 years and love what I do, I work part time to be home more with my children. Being a hairstylist, I love helping my clients look and feel good. That being said, I figured I can help people in other ways as well and being that I love animals, why not help people with their pets by taking care of them! I take my dog on daily walks, except for Tuesdays and Saturdays but those are the days I work in the salon, but my husband takes our dog out. She also will go to my mother's house in the summer to swim with us as she absolutely loves the pool! Being that I am home most of the week, watching dogs fits well into my schedule. I will treat other people's pets as if they were my own. As long as they are potty trained, I will allow them to walk freely in my home, I have a huge fenced in yard for them to run and play. As long as the weather is beautiful out, I will take them on walks as well with my family! Myself and my family will treat your pets as if they were ours! We will show them love the entire time they are with us!

“Very responsive, sends lots of pictures. Our dog was nervous but he kept us updated which was very comforting. Fraizer had a great time & was very happy when we picked him up.”

“Jillian was an absolutely amazing sitter for my five-year-old cane corso/pit mix. I appreciated her patience and flexibility, and her regular (and adorable!) updates. Bosco will be back again!”

“Max had a wonderful time with Mark and will be looking forward to the next time he stays with him. Mark kept me posted on their time together with regular photos and videos, and I had absolute trust in the care he was giving my boy. I would not hesitate in calling on Mark in the future.”

“Nancy was absolutely fantastic with Cash. He's got some special needs, and she did an absolutely awesome job committing to his needs. Cash thoroughly enjoyed his stay. I can always tell exactly how much he enjoyed his stay with a sitter, by how long he sulks for when we get home. He wouldn't even look at me all night, he was so mad I brought him back from his fun vacation.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Lavallette
I must say…. I was very apprehensive about leaving my rescue dog with a stranger. Antionette was so responsive throughout the process. Lucy is very nervous around new people and she made a point to stop over with her dog so they can meet before the overnight stay. Not only did she communicate constantly with me, she sent me lots of pictures and put my mind at ease. She also kept the house in order and watered my plants. Antionette is a true animal lover and we will be using her again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
