“Great experience! Ashley has a lovely family and they did a wonderful job to take care of my dog! communication was good as well, I was receiving a daily update from Ashley and all my questions were answered almost immediately.”

“I reached out to Karen on Rover bc i needed someone to watch my dog while away on vacation. Karen is fantastic. She set up a meet and greet prior to my trip so that my dog could meet her and her two dogs. They got along great at the initial meeting, and I booked my dog’s 4 day stay. While I was away, I received daily check-ins and photos from Karen. I am very satisfied and will use Karen again for any future trips.”

“Gerry watched our 5 month old Maltipoo puppy Rocket this evening. He had a blast playing with her. Gerry sent us a bunch of updates and photos throughout the evening. She is very responsive, personable, clearly loves dogs and knows how to watch them. We will definitely use her again in the future and would recommend her to others as well. This was our first time leaving Rocket with a sitter and we got lucky in finding Gerry.”

“AMAZING service! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Dogs came back home happy & i had constant communication with Elias during the dogs stay, which was great, he even sent a few videos and pictures of the dogs at his house during the stay that made me miss them a little less; would and will repeat without a doubt! Thank you!”

“Meghan and Rob were absolutely wonderful. I had never left my Maverick with anyone outside the family and from the meet and greet through the entire stay I felt comfortable and like my dog would be well taken care of even with his history of being reactive. I received pictures and videos and they even took TV request. I would highly recommend Meghan.”

“Chastidy is a bonafide dog whisperer. My senior dog was taken care of exceptionally well and spent time with and befriended dogs of similar size/ energy. Definitely recommend her!”

About: I have taken care of dogs for most of my adult life. My wife and I have made a point to adopt large older dogs that tend to be stuck in the shelter system. All dogs are good and deserve to live a fun filled, happy, and loved life. I am also recently pet CPR and first aid certified by The American Red Cross. Im currently working part time three nights during the week so I have plenty of free time to take care of your pups. Having recently lost our beloved Mastiff, I've been craving some pup time. I have a fully fenced in yard and have plenty of room to crate your pups. We recently lost our dog so we are pet free. Being dog people, we welcome your dogs like they were our family.
“From our initial conversation I felt so comfortable with Jessica. She's very warm, kind and personable and my pup Xerxes enjoyed his time with her so much, he didnt want to leave! I would definitely hire Jessica again and highly recommend her.”

Phenomenal boarding experience. Cute pictures of our dogs made us feel much more comfortable leaving them with Jennifer as first time customers. Every day we were updated with how the dogs were doing and behaving. I'd 100 percent recommend anyone to have their dogs in Jennifer's care. Thank you again for keeping our pups safe and happy!

Christine and her family were so wonderful with our Axel while we were away for 1 week! Like home away from home. I found her last minute and the moment I met her I knew Axel would be happy there. She took such great care of him and kept me updated the whole time! Thank you!! Axel will be back!

Avigail( Abby) was absolutely awesome ! She always kept me informed about Roscoe and sent pictures everyday , walking him and hanging out with her and her golden retriever ! They were buddies ! She made us feel so content on our vacation! We knew he was in the best of hands !! Will definitely use her again if we go back to the shores for vacation! Thank you Abby so much ! Roscoe is a very happy camper on our ride home thanks to you :)

We were hesitant about leaving Max with anyone while we took a vacation. After meeting Carol we we were reassured. She really put us at ease by sending pictures and a video of Max out for a walk. He was well taken care of and we could relax and enjoy ourselves. We will definitely book with Carol again when we need a sitter for Max. Thank you!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
