“I can't say enough good things about our experience with Karen. Charlie loved her from our first meet and greet and she eased my anxiety about leaving him everyday through texts, pictures and updates about how he was doing. She was the sweetest and most thorough and I can't wait to use her services again!”

“Skipper stayed with Kristen for a couple of days and she every day she provided great communication, numerous updates and kept our pup busy! He is a higher energy 1.5 year old golden doodle, so he needs a lot of exercise and she was awesome at keeping him entertained with her children and dog Bailey. He was allowed on her furniture and it really seemed like he was part of her family for his stay. Thanks so much for your efforts Kristen!! We highly recommend you!”

“Nancy and Tim were everything you hoped for in a dog sitter. They treated jojo like she was family, were constantly in touch, and sent picture update. I would highly recommended booking with them if you were looking for a dog sitter.”

“Vanessa got to watch all 3 of our dogs this time and Fig our new puppy took too her so well and we are so happy that everyone gets along and has a good time. Vanessa knows just how to work with all our babies, cats and love them and teaches us new ways to work with them too she's a blessing.”

“This was my first time using Rover, and I was nervous about leaving my baby with someone I didn’t know. Luz was there when I dropped Mellow off and she made me feel so much more comfortable by the time I left. She sent me photos and videos of my baby being well taken care of, and that made all doubts go away. Mellow not only ate her food, but extra treats given by Luz and Alessandro, which is not usual for her. After seeing all the pictures and videos I knew I made the right decision in leaving my fur baby with them!”

“This was our first time leaving Lincoln with Jouseline, and she made it such a great experience. She was an excellent communicator, sending updates and photos of Lincoln eating, walking, and enjoying his day. She was also flexible with our schedule when we needed to pick him up a little earlier. Lincoln came home happy and well cared for. We’ll definitely book with Jouseline again!”

“Hedra was such an amazing sitter. I always have a hard time finding some one to care for my dog because he tends to get anxious. Hedra send me videos, photo of Louie, walked him around, played with him and Louie was so happy. Definitely booking him again soon, from now on I would not leave Louie with anybody else. Such a caring person.”

“Katie and Janet did an amazing job taking care of Emmie! they were very loving and caring towards her and treated her like family. they gave me lots of updates about her and I felt very confident that my dog was in great hands with them. I'd highly recommend them to anyone looking for a dog sitter and if i need one in the future i'm definitely reaching out to them.”

“I had such an incredible experience with Meghan! This was my first time using Rover and having someone dog sit my baby that was not a friend or family member. Meghan was so understanding and was so so communicative by sending me daily texts and pics. Cannot recommend her enough!! My Scout loves Meghan and can't wait to go back!”

About: I have taken care of dogs for most of my adult life. My wife and I have made a point to adopt large older dogs that tend to be stuck in the shelter system. All dogs are good and deserve to live a fun filled, happy, and loved life. I am also recently pet CPR and first aid certified by The American Red Cross. Im currently working part time three nights during the week so I have plenty of free time to take care of your pups. Having recently lost our beloved Mastiff, I've been craving some pup time. I have a fully fenced in yard and have plenty of room to crate your pups. We recently lost our dog so we are pet free. Being dog people, we welcome your dogs like they were our family.
“Vickie and Health are wonderful! They treated Frankenstein like part of the family! They are very knowledgeable about proper dog intros and have an amazing backyard for pups to play! They took great care of Frankenstein and he had the best time! Thank you! Frankenstein will see you in July!”

Danielle was wonderful with our two pups! She was responsive to any questions, sent pictures every few days, and gave them tons of love. Danielle also made sure to keep our dog’s Halo collar charged and active which gave us peace of mind for our one pup who has a strong prey drive.

This was the first time leaving my dog in Cara’s care, and I could not be happier with the experience from the very beginning she was professional, caring, and attentive to my dogs needs. She kept me updated with messages and photos, which gave me great peace of mind while I was away. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, reliable and compassionate pet sitter. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again thank you Cara for taking such wonderful care of Moose

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
