“Scot responded very quickly when I needed a dog sitter the next day. He sent pictures and updates during their stay. My dogs felt right at home hanging out with Scot's family.”
“Karli is professional, easy to work with, responsive, and caring. Our dog doesn’t like to be boarded usually which is why we brought him along on our Zion trip. But he quickly adjusted and enjoyed his time with Karli and family.”

“Brittany is a lifesaver! We were camping in Zion and the AC went out in our camper, so our dog was basically on the verge of heat stroke. I contacted her and within a little over an hour, Buster was safe safely at her air conditioned home less than 30 minutes away 🥰 She also sent us pictures and updates. Definitely recommend Brittany and her family!”
“First time leaving our pup with anyone and I think I had more anxiety than my mini schnauzer. Breann was fantastic! Not only kind but very knowledgeable. She would send photos and videos that helped ease my mind. So glad I found her!”

“Krishna and her whole family loved on our Cosmo. He was happy and bouncing around when we picked him up. Always nice to have a host express how much they liked watching your dog.”

“Lindsay was so great! We felt good leaving our pup with her and her girls. It was obvious he was loved and cared for while we were away. Will definitely rebook in the future.”

About: I’ve had many doggies in my family since I was five. Since I’m a paraplegic (going on five years now) and I have an ESA medium sized doodle, we would love a low-key playmate to share our adventures with—even if it’s just cuddling up on the couch, watching a movie. Being a paraplegic, I have access to my own door to the fenced in backyard from my bedroom. My parents are always home—which is where they also work—and would provide help with cuddles during our nightly movie fests. (Note: we prefer well trained, good natured, willing-to-be-low-key, but able to run at least two miles doggies. A love of Charlie Chaplin, like my dog, is optional) Daily, my Hairy and I go on walks—me on a three wheel scooter OR a three wheel bike, and never ever if it’s more than 100 degrees. If it’s 90-100 degrees, I thoroughly hose down my doggie and bring lots of water, and aim for a trail or park with lots of grass. If your dog is well mannered, I will let them loose and we can play with the ball.) My parents and I all work our individual jobs at home. I’m a writer in a wheelchair with my dog Hairy, who is in every respect like the hero we all have read about and adore. As I work on my computer, Hairy sits on his bed in the corner, waiting for another doggie boarder to play with! Yet, daily, your dog and mine would get at least two walks/bike rides/3 wheeled scooter rides so they get exposure to the world outside. (Some soaking down may be required for heat purposes.) Lots of treats, loves, cuddles, and relaxation provided with a varied fenced-in backyard are always at hand. Fenced yard, fountains, maybe 25 trees, no cats (bleah!), grass galore, and stairs to explore! Inside our environment is a working from home angelic nurse practitioner mom, a hard working engineer dad, and a writer (that’s me! Find my first book on Amazon called Prelude in N Minor as well as my other books!).

“Jay and his family were great. They took our dog in during the Thanksgiving holiday. He is often shy but that was not the case with Jay. We were provided daily updates regarding Charlie’s well being. He was very much pampered. It seems Charlie has found his vacation home when we are in the area again.”

“I really appreciate MaKayla. She took my dog in on short notice, when a trip came up for me las minute. She was great and easy to work with. She also responded quickly. Ash was a happy dog when I picked her up after her stay. I would recommend MaKayla to everyone.”
“Bonnie and her family are so wonderful to our doggie. I do believe they are dog whisperers. We were so blessed to have find them. We know he loves them as for example when we try to get him into the truck to leave, he tries to go back to their front door. This has never happened with any other tender.”

About: I’ve been a caregiver, of pets and elderly on and off for 20+ years. My home is set up for dogs, with a fully fenced yard, dog door, and chill dog friendly home. We have two dogs of our own who are great with other dogs and are vaccinated. I’m a full time online student and mom, so I am home most of the time. We are all about dog play time and couch cuddles in our home. I have a fully fenced yard. We have two well behaved dogs that are good with other dogs. We try not to overlap dog families. Sometimes we will overlap for a couple days, if we feel we can make it work for us and all the dogs are comfortable.
About: What sets me apart is the genuine love and understanding I’ve developed for dogs through years of hands-on experience. I’ve been caring for dogs since 8th grade, starting with my first Shih Tzu and later raising a Cockapoo, then opening my heart to two wonderful rescue dogs—a Foxhound/Cattle Dog mix and a Border Collie/Cattle Dog mix. Caring for dogs of different sizes, energy levels, and personalities has taught me patience, attentiveness, and how to make each dog feel safe, loved, and understood, whether they need gentle senior care, playful engagement, or consistent routines. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine and something I genuinely look forward to. Each morning starts with a walk, followed by breakfast and some playtime like fetch to help burn energy and start the day happy. Later in the day, I take them out for another walk around the park for exercise and their second potty break, and we finish the evening with one last walk before bedtime. Nights always end with extra attention—belly rubs and goodnight kisses. I care for pets in my home by providing consistent routines, plenty of exercise, and attentive, gentle care. Each day includes regular walks, scheduled meals, and playtime to keep pets active and comfortable. I make sure they get multiple potty breaks throughout the day, along with quiet time in the evening so they can relax and settle in. I also pay close attention to each pet’s individual needs and make sure they feel safe, cared for, and at home while they’re with me.
“Bri was very communicative and so knowledgeable about dogs. Our pup warmed up to her quickly and was in great hands for three days. We got pictures and updates regularly and we’d love to have Bri pet sit for us again. She is phenomenal.”

About: Hi there! For years I’ve cared for dogs and cats for friends and family while they’re away, making sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable in a calm environment. I have plenty of hands-on experience and truly enjoy giving pets attention, care, and consistency while their owners are gone! I do have 3 outdoor cats, but they are separate and will not interfere with your pet’s space, comfort, or routine. When I’m not caring for animals, you can find me at church, playing pickleball, reading my Bible, going to the gym, or grabbing an acai bowl! :) I play professional pickleball, so my day is structured around training in short blocks. I train in the morning and again in the afternoon, but I’m home throughout the day to care for pets and provide walks, attention, and consistency. I’m never gone for more than 2–3 hours at a time, so your pet won’t be left alone for long periods. I’m available most weekdays and weekends when I’m not traveling for tournaments. I will only accept bookings when I’m fully available to provide proper care and attention! I have a spacious one story home and a backyard where pets can safely spend time outside. One side of the yard is not fully fenced, so I always supervise outdoor time or keep them on their leash. Pets will also get regular walks around my safe, quiet neighborhood for exercise. My home is clean, calm, and set up to make pets feel comfortable and secure!
“Rachel and her husband, Scott, were wonderful! When we first got there, Lenny was a little nervous and started barking. So Scott took him on a nice run and walk. Needless to say, Lenny became quickly enamored with him. They communicated well with us and sent great picture! Lenny would love to go back!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Santa Clara
This was the second time we had Krisanne and Gaston pet sit Brody. The first time was just an overnight stay to see how he would do and he did fine. This time he stayed a week and when we first dropped him off he seemed excited. Later when he realized that we weren’t there I think he started to get anxious and nervous. He had some accidents but Krisanne and Gaston handled it nicely. They keep me updated that Brody was doing better and sent pictures of him playing and taking daily walks with their dog Kylo. I felt comfortable leaving Brody with Krisanne and Gaston and would highly recommend them.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in UT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
