Safety, trust & environment

When I’m caring for pets, whether in my home or a client’s, I focus on creating a calm, safe, and loving environment that matches each pet’s routine. I follow your instructions closely, keep their schedule consistent, and make sure they get plenty of attention, playtime, and affection. I’m comfortable with everything from relaxed cuddle sessions to structured walks with simple command practice. In your home, I respect your space and your pet’s familiar routines so they feel secure and comfortable. If I’m hosting, I make sure pets have a cozy place to rest, regular potty breaks, and lots of interaction throughout the day. My flexible schedule and ability to work from home allow me to be present, attentive, and responsive to whatever your pet needs.

Information Brenda B. would like to know about your pet

Before caring for a pet, I like to understand their routine and personality so I can make them feel comfortable and supported. It’s helpful to know: Daily routine: feeding schedule, potty breaks, walk preferences, and sleep habits. Temperament: shy, energetic, cuddly, independent, anxious, or anything in between. Triggers or fears: loud noises, other dogs, strangers, certain handling, etc. Medical needs: medications, allergies, mobility issues, or anything I should watch for. Training level: commands they know, cues you use, and any behaviors you’re reinforcing. Social preferences: how they do with other dogs, cats, or new people. House rules: furniture boundaries, crate use, treats allowed, and any routines you want kept consistent. Favorite things: toys, games, treats, and what helps them feel safe and happy. Knowing these details helps me tailor care to your pet’s needs and keep their routine as familiar and stress‑free as possible :)

A typical day

A typical day with me is all about keeping your dog happy, engaged, and comfortable. I start by making sure they get a good potty break and some morning affection to ease into the day. From there, we mix in plenty of fun—whether that’s a relaxed “sniff‑and‑stroll” walk where they set the pace, or a more focused walk where we practice simple commands and enjoy moving together. Throughout the day, I build in playtime based on your dog’s personality. Fetch, tug, puzzle toys, or just rolling around with their favorite squeaky—whatever makes them light up. I also make sure they get downtime, cozy rest spots, and lots of reassurance so they feel safe and settled. Because I have a flexible schedule and can work from home, I’m able to give dogs consistent attention, companionship, and structure. Whether we’re exploring the neighborhood, practicing manners, or enjoying quiet cuddle breaks, I make sure every dog feels loved, stimulated, and right at home.

Pet care experience

I’ve cared for animals my entire life (I'm 50), starting as a young child with family pets and continuing into adulthood with six dogs and two cats of my own. Three of my dogs went through formal training and handling with me, giving me hands‑on experience with puppies, seniors, high‑energy breeds, and dogs with unique personalities. I’m comfortable with all dog types and temperaments, and I genuinely enjoy spending time with cats as well. I recently moved into a condo and don’t currently have pets, so caring for others’ fur babies is a wonderful way for me to stay connected to the joy animals bring. The condo has a patio and a balcony with a large grassy dog area within steps of my front door. The app only lets someone mark "apartment" or "house" so I thought "apartment" was the closest but really - it's an owned condo. Whether your dog prefers a slow stroll to sniff the world or a focused, working walk with simple command practice, I’m happy to match their pace and needs. I have a flexible work schedule and can work from home, which allows me to give pets plenty of attention, affection, and consistency throughout the day. Providing loving, reliable care is truly the best way for me to get my “fur baby fix,” and I treat every pet as if they were my own. To top it off, my husband works from home too so if your sweetie needs extra attention or prefers males - we got you covered :)

Brenda is amazing with my sweet fur baby and we have used her several times so far. She has excellent communication skills and fills me in on everything. This last time she housesat since we were gone for a week and we came home to a sparkling clean home. That was on top of a very happy pup. She followed all of my directions and left a written note about everything that occurred while I was gone. I can’t rave about Brenda enough. I have complete confidence that my sweet baby will be loved while I am away.

Once again we had to leave town on short notice. Brenda accepted with one week notice and did a great job with our boys. One had a broken rubber band in his top knot and she fixed it without having to. She is very reliable and loves animals. Thank you Brenda.
