“Linda was great. Evering thing happened as requested and planned. Linda did a great job of taking care of Drax and was very caring. She even sent several pictures including from a trip to the dog park. We highly recommend her. Thank you Linda!”

“Britney was amazing! She cared for my fur baby and communicated clearly with me about how she was doing. Peaches loved her and her dogs and Britney took her on all sorts of adventures. Will definitely book again!”

“We are so grateful to Chanelle and her wonderful family for taking such amazing care of our dog, Teddy. From the moment we left him with them, we felt completely at ease. They were incredibly kind, loving, and attentive, and treated Teddy like one of their own. We truly appreciated the regular updates and the many photos they shared, which made us feel connected and reassured while we were away. It was clear Teddy was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would absolutely trust them again. Highly recommend!”

“Our Johanna was so well cared for at Kelly’s house. We received regular updates and she had great communication with us. Johanna loved her time there and played so well with Shelby.”

“Bonnie and her family are so wonderful to our doggie. I do believe they are dog whisperers. We were so blessed to have find them. We know he loves them as for example when we try to get him into the truck to leave, he tries to go back to their front door. This has never happened with any other tender.”

“Such a great and friendly experience! My two dogs were greeted with a cute handmade sign from the Rovers daughter and it was adorable! I received many photos and updates. My dogs have never looked so happy in photos (even my photos) Book here, but check with me first so I can make sure I’m not going out of town! Jay and his wife were very kind and great people!”

“So glad I’ve had the chance to have Jaren watch my English bulldog. Even though my dog is an easy dog to get along with, Jaren was awesome with her. My dog had a great time at his house, and I’ll definitely reach out to him again the next time I’m out of town.”

“I would highly recommend Melissa for your pet watching needs. We left our dog with her for a week, and had zero concerns with the care he would receive from her. She even took the time to check in with us and give updates with how he was doing.”

About: I’ve had many doggies in my family since I was five. Since I’m a paraplegic (going on five years now) and I have an ESA medium sized doodle, we would love a low-key playmate to share our adventures with—even if it’s just cuddling up on the couch, watching a movie. Being a paraplegic, I have access to my own door to the fenced in backyard from my bedroom. My parents are always home—which is where they also work—and would provide help with cuddles during our nightly movie fests. (Note: we prefer well trained, good natured, willing-to-be-low-key, but able to run at least two miles doggies. A love of Charlie Chaplin, like my dog, is optional) Daily, my Hairy and I go on walks—me on a three wheel scooter OR a three wheel bike, and never ever if it’s more than 100 degrees. If it’s 90-100 degrees, I thoroughly hose down my doggie and bring lots of water, and aim for a trail or park with lots of grass. If your dog is well mannered, I will let them loose and we can play with the ball.) My parents and I all work our individual jobs at home. I’m a writer in a wheelchair with my dog Hairy, who is in every respect like the hero we all have read about and adore. As I work on my computer, Hairy sits on his bed in the corner, waiting for another doggie boarder to play with! Yet, daily, your dog and mine would get at least two walks/bike rides/3 wheeled scooter rides so they get exposure to the world outside. (Some soaking down may be required for heat purposes.) Lots of treats, loves, cuddles, and relaxation provided with a varied fenced-in backyard are always at hand. Fenced yard, fountains, maybe 25 trees, no cats (bleah!), grass galore, and stairs to explore! Inside our environment is a working from home angelic nurse practitioner mom, a hard working engineer dad, and a writer (that’s me! Find my first book on Amazon called Prelude in N Minor as well as my other books!).
“Highly recommend Julia! My dog stayed with her and her partner for a couple nights during the weekdays and I felt like my dog was in great hands. She was upfront about her work schedule and when she would be home, which was appreciated info ahead of time. She sent pics and I just knew my dog had a blast and felt safe with them. Will definitely use again”

“Lindsay was amazing with my cat. She was super flexible and sent regular picture updates. My kitty did not want to come home! A big plus was that she was super clean, I think she had a bath before I came to get her. I would highly recommend her home for pets, she’s now our official sitter”

“I am always comfortable leaving my precious puppy with Rachel and Scott. They genuinely like dogs and take excellent care of them. I know my girl will come home tired and happy.”
“Lauren was great to work with. I had a last minute change in my plans & she was available last minute. My dog was well taken care of & Lauren was so easy & chill to work with! Thank you for taking care of Cosmo!”

About: Hi there! For years I’ve cared for dogs and cats for friends and family while they’re away, making sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable in a calm environment. I have plenty of hands-on experience and truly enjoy giving pets attention, care, and consistency while their owners are gone! I do have 3 outdoor cats, but they are separate and will not interfere with your pet’s space, comfort, or routine. When I’m not caring for animals, you can find me at church, playing pickleball, reading my Bible, going to the gym, or grabbing an acai bowl! :) I play professional pickleball, so my day is structured around training in short blocks. I train in the morning and again in the afternoon, but I’m home throughout the day to care for pets and provide walks, attention, and consistency. I’m never gone for more than 2–3 hours at a time, so your pet won’t be left alone for long periods. I’m available most weekdays and weekends when I’m not traveling for tournaments. I will only accept bookings when I’m fully available to provide proper care and attention! I have a spacious one story home and a backyard where pets can safely spend time outside. One side of the yard is not fully fenced, so I always supervise outdoor time or keep them on their leash. Pets will also get regular walks around my safe, quiet neighborhood for exercise. My home is clean, calm, and set up to make pets feel comfortable and secure!
About: I’ve been a caregiver, of pets and elderly on and off for 20+ years. My home is set up for dogs, with a fully fenced yard, dog door, and chill dog friendly home. We have two dogs of our own who are great with other dogs and are vaccinated. I’m a full time online student and mom, so I am home most of the time. We are all about dog play time and couch cuddles in our home. I have a fully fenced yard. We have two well behaved dogs that are good with other dogs. We try not to overlap dog families. Sometimes we will overlap for a couple days, if we feel we can make it work for us and all the dogs are comfortable.
“MaKayla was fabulous! I needed a last minute sitter and I couldn't have asked for a better one for my fluffy pup. She sent me pictures and stayed in constant contact. I will absolutely reach back out to her when I go back”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Washington
Rebecca is a fantastic dog sitter. We are traveling and our dog is a little unpredictable. She is also old and doesn’t like to have a lot of changes in her routine. Rebecca was very welcoming and our dog settled right in. Rebecca was very flexible with our schedule and did a great job communicating. We hope to use Rebecca for future needs.

I was a little worried about leaving our 4 month old puppy with someone I hadn’t met, but Stacey had great reviews and she lived up to all of them. Her family was wonderful! Our goldendoodle pup had so much fun playing with Stacey and her kids. We got daily updates and photos showing how much he was being loved. I would definitely choose Stacey again!

This was my first time using a pet sitting service. I was nervous about leaving my dog with a stranger but I was quickly at ease with Lindsay. She sent daily updates and took my dog on morning hikes. My dog also seemed very entertained with her family and own dogs as company. What a great find. I will be using Lindsay again on future trips. Thank you!

We couldn’t have asked for better dog sitters! They took such amazing care of our two Bernedoodles over the last five days, and we had complete peace of mind while we were away. They kept us updated with photos and messages, and it was obvious our dogs were happy, loved, and well cared for the entire time. When we picked them up, they were relaxed, healthy, and clearly had a wonderful stay. It’s such a relief to find people who genuinely treat your pets like family. We are incredibly grateful for the care, attention, and love they gave our dogs. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy, compassionate, and dependable pet sitters. We will absolutely be booking with them again in the future. Thank you so much for everything!

We had such a great experience with Tiffany! She took amazing care of our dog and kept us updated, which gave us so much peace of mind. Our dog was happy, well cared for, and clearly comfortable with her. We would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in UT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
