Jorge was patient with my anxious dog, Grumpy. He took the time to make him feel comfortable, which meant a lot to me. He also sent photo/video updates, Grumpy came home happy and relaxed.

Jorge was amazing! He accepted to watch Benny immediately after contacting him as I had a last minute work trip that made me panic and try and find a place for Benny to go to for a couple of days. I received photos and updates from Jorge regularly and thought that was really great of him to do. When the Rover app had issues I was still able to reach him through the text feature. Will absolutely use Jorge again and thank you for taking care of Benny last minute!

I have to say I am a bit disappointed with the care I received from Jorge. We were traveling for an event and were very picky with who we left our 2 dogs with as it was going to be an all day event. Jorge was extremely communicative in initial conversations. He was responding within minutes of me writing him, as we planned out logistics. Which is important to note because the next day he was a completely different person. To start we had an early drop off (6:45 was agreed upon by Jorge) and weirdly he did not come to the door to greet us. His wife did. Jorge did not mention anything of this (i.e. I wont be there to meet you etc) It was early and I was tired so I didn’t question it… will she relay all the info to Jorge? So I immediately message all of the info so he has it, when to feed, what to feed (one dog takes supplements). They also had a dog that due to a time crunch we could not meet in advance. My dog and his were a little hesitant with each other (Bear is big and was being protective, Luna my dog was anxious). 4 hours go by and not one word from Jorge. I messaged multiple times asking for an update and nothing. Especially considering Bear and Luna had a rough start I wanted an update. He finally messages 4.5 hours after drop off saying sorry his phone died. Which is just bizarre… if you are awake and watching someone’s dogs, 1. You should be providing updates and that would require a charged phone. Made me feel like he just woke up or was not there. He then said “my wife said this…” / “my wife said that.” To which I respond wait are you not there watching the dogs? He said well I am out running my Saturday errands and I’ll be home in an hour (i.e. grocery shopping and other errands) and we never leave dogs unattended so she is watching them. He claims he was gone from 9-12. That is fine I guess but you absolutely should let me know. Like Hi I am running our but my wife will look after these 3 dogs and make sure all is well. But nothing. Also, again somehow phone was dead through all of this. He then gives me her cell phone so I can get an update and some photos. My dog looks honestly very sad and miserable. She can be anxious in new places, but I’ll be honest- if she is getting love and attention she is good. But too many factors here to really gauge why she is acting this way. So I let this go. I thank her for her help and she then tells me oh I barely do anything I cant take the credit I am mostly handling my newborn and toddler. So her hands are full and she is supposedly also now watching 3 dogs. Around 1:45 pm I finally start getting updates from Jorge through the app instead of from his wife via text. I was a little annoyed by the whole morning but tried to let it go. I asked if my two dogs were playing and he said no, which was shocking because Luna and Griffey my other dog are obsessed with each other and honestly play sometimes 12 straight hours and aren’t tired. In my experience of using Rover, I have only ever received photos of the dogs smiling, reports of epic tug or wrestling, or funny nap positions. So it was odd that he reported no play. Again, many variables so I let this go. Cut to picking the dogs up, I message Jorge we are on our way and no response. Who answers the door when we get there- his wife. Never met Jorge. Who knows if he was there. Or for how long. Or how much attention the dogs even got. I really feel the Jorge should have been more transparent about his availability and should be honest that his wife will be watching the dogs as well. I would have wanted to meet BOTH of them. It’s not like his profile is “Jorge and Wife” And still zero explanation for why he did not greet us at the door for pick up or drop off. Bizarre dog sitting experience and I am a rover myself so I take reviews very seriously. This was just a little unacceptable. I would never recommend him. I don’t want to drop off my dogs and be worried about them.

Armani seemed to enjoy his time w Jorge and his family. We appreciated the pictures we received and updates as to how he was doing. For us, meet and greets are important prior to the appointment. This did not happen for us with Jorge, although we requested one. Different Interferences with time availability happened on both sides which got in the way of us meeting him. Armani is pretty laid back and all seemed to mesh well with his visit. Thank you!

I was pretty stressed initially about leaving my dogs with someone but they made it incredibly easy and comfortable with me. We got great photo updates and videos, and they were incredibly accommodating to any requests that we had, including drop off and pick up times. They were very easy going and i felt comfortable leaving my dogs in their care. Next time I need someone to dog sit I am just going to rebook through them!
