About: Hi! I’m Courtney, and I love dogs and have lots of experience with dogs of all sizes and breeds from Chihuahuas to Pit bull terriers to Great Danes. I have worked for humane societies for years walking shelter dogs and helping with basic training and grooming, so I have lots of experience with dogs of all sizes including strong, highly active dogs that require an experienced controlled dog walker/sitter. I’m a firm believer in clear, calm communication with any dog that I am working with and I only use positive reinforcement. I work from home part time and have lots of time to dedicate to your pup! I’m responsible and respectful, as well as, punctual, and will happily give your pup all my love and attention! I’m available daily for dog walks and boarding and I currently have a small group of regular dogs that come on different weekdays for doggie daycare. My yard and entire property is fully fenced with a 6ft wood privacy fence and there is an extra gate between the front and back yards. I’m available pretty much anytime for dog walks but I do run a doggie daycare (max 5 dogs per day) in my home with my partner between the hours of 7:30am and 5:30pm Monday to Thursday. My current group of regulars (that come varying weekdays) includes dogs ranging from 15 - 85 pounds and almost all the dogs are between 3 and 5 years old. I also offer boarding for up to 2 dogs per night but usually I am booked out 4-6 weeks ahead of time. I live in West Oakland (very close to the Bart station!) and my home and yard are very secure with a 6ft tall redwood fence surrounding the entire property. My yard is pretty large and great for off leash fun as it’s completely safe and secure. I live only with my husband and our two very friendly Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who loves every dog they has ever met. Oliver even has a way of making dogs that are usually not dog friendly play as if they were a puppy - it seems to be his super power! While Opal is just a love who is always ready for fun in the yard or cuddles on the couch.

“Ashlyn was super communicative and good with my dog. I also appreciate her flexibility on change times for a cooler time of day during a heat wave. I will definitely hire her again next time I’m out of town.”

“Stephanie has been so great with my dog Maya. After starting a new job and moving to a new city, I didn’t have any support to help with my dog. Stephanie has been so helpful with all these changes. Maya can be a bit nervous around new people but she warmed up to Stephanie really fast and gets so excited to see her! Stephanie is so great- she is a very reliable person, trustworthy, a great communicator and great with dogs. I’m so happy I found her and that Maya really enjoys her company!”

“Erin is fantastic and takes really good care of my dog, Sansa, when I’m away. She is punctual, reliable, provides regular updates and is someone I trust to be with Sansa and makes sure she is cared for!”

“Jesse has been flexible, patient, and understanding working with our family as our needs have changed and during our home renovation to ensure our dogs have been taken care of.”

About: I’ve dog sat for friends and family in the past 2 years and I’ve loved the experience. Happy to provide references and chat more about my experience. My best friend lives on my floor and we take walks with his dog every morning and evening so it’s very well incorporated in my schedule I make my place conducive for pets since I have one visit often. No cords laying around, vacuumed floors and room temperature thermostat. This also applies to client apartments

About: I’ve always loved animals- growing up I had both cats and dogs, and currently have a senior cat of my own. I also foster dogs of all breeds, personalities, and needs through a local shelter. I’ve pet-sat both in my home, and in others’ homes, throughout my life, and have experience caring for animals post-op, with semi-complex medical needs, and basic training techniques, using positive reinforcement and praise. With your pets in my care, I can assure you that they will get all the love and attention that they deserve, everything that they need, and from day 1 they will be cared for as if they were my own. I am available for overnight care in your home, drop-in walks/ play-time/ potty breaks, and daycare in your home. Unfortunately, am not available for boarding or daycare in my home. However, I’m more than happy to take your pet on a day-long outing out in nature, or around the city. I am available for recurring walks, drop-ins, house sits, and one-off bookings on an as-needed basis, with a minimum of 48 hours notice ahead of time. My goal is to always fit seamlessly into your and your pet’s life, but due to pre-existing commitments, I can’t accommodate on-demand services. Every pet I take on, I care for as if they are my own. I strive to provide consistent communication about how they’re doing, what activities we engaged in during our time together, and am mindful to tailor my communication to your needs, so frequency of communication that meets your specific needs will be discussed at our meet and greet. Any concerns that I may have about your pet will be communicated promptly.

“Very reliable and trustworthy! I can tell my lily (poodle puppy) loves her! She takes so much stress off my head! Very easy to communicate with and obviously great with dogs!”

“Jacqueline was so fantastic with Rufus! She was comfortable with my giant puppy, was helpful in reinforcing training with him, and was very easy to communicate with. She was a wonderful dog walker. I would ABSOLUTELY hire her over and over!”

“Jay is great with my little guy and he just loves the special attention he receives. Jay has been walking Chipper for a few months and he looks forward to his daily walks! Knowing that he is well cared for and spoiled while I am at work is such a relief.”

About: Growing up in a dog-loving household, I developed a deep connection with canines from an early age. My proudest experience was raising my own corgi from puppyhood, learning all aspects of responsible pet ownership. This hands-on experience taught me everything from training and grooming to understanding unique breed characteristics. Combined with helping care for my parents' dogs, I've developed a comprehensive understanding of dog behavior, daily care routines, and the importance of consistent, loving attention. As a student with a flexible schedule, I'm available consistently on weekends and most weekday afternoons. I carefully plan my pet care commitments around my classes to ensure dedicated, unrushed time with each pet. I can provide morning walks, midday check-ins, and extended playtime sessions, always prioritizing the pets' routines and needs. I prioritize creating a safe and comfortable environment for every pet in my care. When visiting clients' homes, I follow their specific care instructions meticulously and maintain regular updates through photos and messages. I ensure all doors are secured, maintain a clean environment, and keep pets on their regular feeding and exercise schedules. I also have pet first-aid knowledge for added peace of mind.

“Sophie has been amazing with my girl Rosie as she adjusts to city life. She has made a huge impact on keeping her calm and helping keep her active by giving her good exercise and working with to stay calm and focused while encountering squirrels, other dogs and loud noises on their walks. I have noticed such a change due to Sophie's interventions. Sophie is prompt, communicative and kind. A one of a kind! Rosie adores her!”

About: I have over 10 years of pet care experience. I am able to give medicine, groom and wash, I am respectful when taking dogs out and make sure I clean up after them. I take direction well. If you have certain habits you'd like to reinforce I will do the same. I am not afraid to ask questions to ensure you have a stress free time away from your little family member. Their safety is just as important to me and it is to you and I hope to ease their tension while you are away. I work as a freelance set designer and audiovisual technician a few times a month. I have a rather flexible schedule and often work from home planning and designing varying projects throughout the year. I often go on walks and runs in the oakland hills and marinas so I know some great places to take dogs on walks and will often accompany friends with their pet family on mini adventures to the great outdoors. I worked with animals for over 4 years as an educator in Lawrence Hall of science as lead animal caregiver. I really enjoy animals of all types and have much experience with working in Wag hotels where I had to feed multiple dogs with special diets and medications. Walking and handling many breeds at the same time along with safe practices is not new to me. I'd love to cultivate a regular relationship with an owner and make this a regular gig. I like to make sure I know the house rules of each owner. Consistency in boundaries set by the owner is important to me. I always ask to meet the owner and the pets I will be house sitting for or talking on daily walks before committing to the job as it's important the pet and owner both feel safe with me. In my home I make sure there are no dangerous items like paints or open doors to rooms with unknown items available to be eaten or torn up. I also make sure I have favorite toys and activities to keep busy. I don't leave pets alone, unsupervised and I ask about their territory needs as the home relationship versus outside endeavors can be very different for each pet. I live with 3 housemates all who love animals but don't desire to own one as it's a large responsibility.

About: Dog has always been a big part of my life. I have experiences in potty training, dog walking (small and big), and I love teaching them to do tricks! I'm currently free most of my weekdays as I'm still looking for full-time job. I would like to spend time with some furry friends in between my job search schedule. I would mostly do the same routine as the owner would do when they're home. I will feed them based on their schedule, teaching some tricks, and give them some nap time.

About: I have taken care of multiple dogs (my own and other pets, including cats and birds) throughout my life and I enjoy being around pets. I signed up for rover because I miss having a pet of my own to care for and to take to the park. I have 15+ years of experience. I’ve taken care of small to large (chihuahua to Great Dane) dogs. I am careful to follow directions and pay attention to the pet’s health. I am a distance runner and would be happy to take pets on long walks or runs around golden gate park. I am happy to take care of cats as well. I am available evenings only during the week, and am most flexible over the weekend. I am a healthcare professional who loves pets and who would love to have a companion with me during my time off! I really enjoy taking breaks to go on walks around the neighborhood. Since I cannot have full responsibility of a pet, Rover is my way to enjoy spending quality time with pets. My apartment building accepts pets and your pet will be the only pet in the apartment. I will only host one pet at a time. Non smoker home.

Chelsea E.
“Between Chelsea’s meticulous attention to detail and her love for pups and all things with toe beans and fur, she is the perfect person to trust your beloved four-legged friend with. She has a knack for reading a dog’s body language, understanding the way a dog/dogs process and deal with their surroundings and stimulus, and for making a dog feel extra loved and special. Chelsea will let your dog sniff every single rock and blade of grass on their walk, as well as make sure they stay hydrated and don’t get too hot in the Florida sun. Trust your pups with Chelsea.”

We're so grateful to have found such a caring and professional sitter.”

“Imani is a dear friend whom I trust with caring for our friendly two year old Jack Russel Terrier, Lola. When I need to go on a short trip, Imani is the first friend I call. LOLA LOVES IMANI and gets very excited when Imani visits. Our dog (just like most) others) has a keen sense of which humans can be trusted and those who cannot. Lola knows Imani loves animals.”

“Cliff was great! Very responsive, and took care of our dog very well. He helped train him during the walks. Takes a lot of good photos. Would hire again!”
