“Melissa was great with my dog, Blaze! She not only provided Blaze with much needed exercise on her daily walks, but she almost always stuck around to give a little tender love and care to our pooch. She also brought in our mail, which was an unexpected perk. I highly recommend Melissa. She is a reliable and loving caretaker of dogs.”
“Lisbeth has been a wonderful addition to our family of pet caretakers! She is always on time and polite, and Ravioli always has a good walk- looking forward to having Lisbeth help us for a long time!”

About: I've been a pet owner my whole life. There was always a dog in my home when I was a child. Later on, in my own home had raised two dogs and a cat from their earliest days. My sweet Golden Retriever, Milo, was with me and my kids since he was 10 weeks old. He was amazing! Sadly after a year of being sick and fighting a good fight, it became too much for him. My kids & I said goodbye to him with many tears and such a heaviness in our hearts. It has been sad not seeing his happy face when I come home or unusual to not have to take him out for his nighttime walk. We miss him so much! I would love to be able to share my love that I had for him with the caring of another dog. I'm home during the day which allows me to have the time to devote to your dogs.i also have two teenage kids who are able to walk and play with him. I live on a quiet dead end street with hardly any cars coming through. I have a nice sized yard which is great for playing and taking in the suns rays(my dog would love to just roll his body over in the grass...lol). So I would being taking care of your precious baby boy/girl as if he/she was my own! I also will only take care of one dog at a time... so YOUR dog will have ALL my attention! I am a very easy going down to earth person.... I'd love to chat with you about your needs and concerns for your dog. Please let me know what I can do to help you ... Talk to you soon! Kathy
About: Hi! My name is Amy, and I’m a rising sophomore at Boston College. I’ve lived with dogs since I was 8 years old, so caring for them has always been a part of my life. Growing up with dogs taught me how to understand their personalities, keep them safe, and make sure they get the exercise, attention, and love they deserve. Being away at college means I don’t get to spend as much time with dogs as I’d like, which is why I’m excited to help care for yours! I look forward to giving your pup a fun, safe time and making sure you have peace of mind while they’re in my care. I am currently home for the summer, and am available and flexible. I do have some work and family events that I have blocked off on my calendar, but other than that, I am open to bookings! I have a very large, fenced in yard with a pool. In the summer, the pool is not covered, and my oldest dog loves to go swimming or take a quick step in to cool off. We have a variety of toys and dog beds in our house, and we also have two sets of dog gates.

About: Hi! 😊 My name is Eleanor. We accept only one client at a time! We are home full time. I have always loved dogs! I love discovering the unique personalities of every dog I meet whether it's on a walk, in my care, or at a dog adoption event. I have provided dog care for my friends and neighbors for 40+ years. I have also fostered many dogs and puppies for a local rescue group. I have experience with senior dogs and young puppies. Hi! I am home full time which means your dog will get a lot of attention and TLC. Playtime and potty: Numerous backyard time throughout the day Meal time: I typically separate the dogs during meals so they do not 'share' :) I require a meet and greet with your dog before a scheduled stay to make sure your dog gets along with my pets and feels comfortable in our home. You may want to book daycare before a longer stay so your dog gets used to our home. It is important that your dog is well behaved and is not aggressive or reactive to other dogs. Our cat keeps to himself most of the day. We live in a single family home with a fenced-in yard (6' high PVC) and 1 friendly dog to keep your fur baby company. We also have a XL crate that can be used if your dogs prefers. The cat litter is kept in a room blocked off by pet gates where only the cat will have access.
About: I have owned dogs most of my life, always showering them with the love and care they deserve. Now, I want to do the same for your pups! My wife and I both work full time out of the house (I’m in the office four days a week and work from home on Friday), and our kids are in school, so I am available Friday, Saturday and Sunday and over holiday weekends. I have a fenced-in yard and a friendly dog, so your dog will be housed safely, and will have a four-legged friend to play with. I take my dog on frequent walks and would be excited to take yours along with us.
About: I have been a zoo keeper for the past 3 years, and have worked with animals of all sizes and temperaments. I grew up with a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and have lived with a yellow lab. I have spent time looking after family and friends’ pets many times before! I am currently in between zookeeper jobs and am available most days. Thank you! I am experienced with dogs, cats, and many household pets. Very experienced with birds, rodents, and small mammals as well. I do not have the availability to house pets at my home, but I am very willing to travel to the destination that is needed!
About: Hello, my name is Tatiana! I’m a 28-year-old living in Woodcliff Lake, NJ, and a proud Rutgers University alumna with a degree in Pre-Veterinary Medicine! I’ve been in love with animals of all kind for as long as I can remember, driving me to pursue this degree! While at Rutgers, I gained hands-on experience working with horses, cows, goats, sheep, and pigs on the university farm. Additionally, I’ve spent over five years as a veterinary assistant and surgical nurse at a pet hospital, specializing in the care of cats and dogs. I’m proficient in administering oral medications and subcutaneous or intramuscular injections. I also have experience with chemotherapy medications, having cared for my dog, who has had a bladder tumor for nearly three years. I share my home with a grumpy 14-year-old Bichon Frise/Shih-Tzu and a 4-year-old Scottish Fold cat with Cerebellar Hypoplasia, whom I rescued during my time at the veterinary clinic. My love for animals knows no bounds, and I treat every pet in my care as if they were my own! With a passion for animals and years of experience, I offer a range of services including dog walking, overnight care, and pet sitting! So whether you're going on a weekend getaway or need someone to take care of your fur baby during the day, I've got you covered! I will gladly send you pictures and video updates of your sweet kitty or pupper! I also am happy to play with them using their favorite toys and don't mind spending extra time for a snuggle session while I’m there! If you're interested in my services, please feel free to message me to discuss your pet care needs! I can't wait to meet you and your fur babies! I’m currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology at Kean University with the goal of working with children. In addition, I wanted to continue my passion for working with cats and dogs, so I decided what better way than pet-sitting! I’m available all day on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. On Thursdays, I’m available from the morning until 3:30 p.m! Please note that my house sitting fee covers 10-12 hours overnight (depending on my availability) and one midday drop-in! When caring for pets in a client’s home, I adhere strictly to their established routines to ensure the pets feel comfortable and secure. I follow the feeding schedules, provide fresh water, and engage in stimulating playtime and exercise tailored to each pet’s needs. I also ensure the home remains secure and well-maintained during my visits. This includes tidying up areas like vacuuming around the litter box and cleaning up any pet-related messes. Additionally, I provide regular updates with photos and messages to keep the pet parent informed about their pets’ well-being!
About: I am current graduate student at Ramapo college looking for a new way to spend time with dogs (since I can’t get one of my own just yet)! I just ended my time volunteering at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay as a short term volunteer with completing my undergraduate degree. In the past I have worked at a dog daycare taking care of 15-20 dogs at a time. I pet sit for friends and family all the time but I am looking to meet new furry friends. I’m currently working part-time and attending school full-time on two nights a week. During the week, I have some nights free, and before classes, I have mornings and afternoons free! I will not offer in-home services as I have a family pet that does not get along well with other dogs, but does great with humans.
“Helene is consistently reliable and great with my dog. She made Izzy feel comfortable since there first introduction and loves my dog like I do. She has been a huge help with my current work schedule. Helene is trustworthy and always updates me promptly, highly recommended!”

About: Thank you for stopping by my profile! Let's get to know each other. Please read through my profile and hopefully it will answer any questions you may have about my service! Animals have been a part of my life since childhood, from our show dog who was an Irish Wolfhound to being a rescue mom to smaller terriers. I have cared for horses, chickens, bunnies which includes pets with special handicaps. With deep empathy and natural connection, I understand animals on an intuitive level. I have trained puppies, comforted seniors and welcomed countless creatures who somehow find their way to my home. Your pet will find a home away from home here with me, safe, loving-and I look forward to offering the same love I show all animals to your beloved pet. All the animals in my home live in harmony together. Some visitors marvel at that fact but it's how I treat each animal with love and care that fosters this environment. All needs are met and everyone is happy! Fun stay for your dog while you are away! Welcome! I am so happy you’re considering my home for your furry family member. I am a loving pet owner with a genuine passion for animals, and believe that when your dog stays with me, they should feel like they’re on vacation—a fun, staycation away from home! I have a senior dog called Texas who is a little sheriff around here! She likes to watch the scene as it makes her feel like part of the action. At nearly 18 years old, she is still going strong and wants to just do doggy things! By having other dogs around, it keeps her active and mentally stimulated. My home is a warm, clean and comfortable space. I offer lots of attention, affection and fun! WHY DOGS LOVE STAYING WITH ME I provide a safe home environment where dogs become part of the daily lives of my family. Your pup will enjoy plenty of companionship, attention, playtime, and opportunities to relax. Because I spend so much time at home, your dog won’t simply be dropped off and left alone for long periods. They’ll be part of the action! Every dog is different, so I take the time to get to know each guest and their unique personality, routine, and preferences. I have a lot of experience with many different breeds of dogs. We like to think of our dogs as perfect but they all have that little things they do! I know their quirks (I see you counter surfers!) and emotional needs (I see you doodles!) It is very helpful to know all about your pet before they arrive here for their stay. Whether your pup is energetic and playful, loves long walks, enjoys making new friends, or would rather curl up for a cozy nap. Also, if they eat tissues, or garbage dip or counter surf? We can accommodate all different personalities with proper notice. Not everyone is perfect! I will do my best to make them feel comfortable and happy. We can also discuss at quick 15 minute meet and greet which is required for any boardings with me. For first time guests on longer stays over 7 days, an overnight experience is required. (Exceptions can made for out of town guests or emergencies!) A TYPICAL DAY A stay with me includes plenty of opportunities for: * Outdoor potty breaks and fresh air * Playtime and enrichment * Walks and exercise * Relaxation and cozy nap time * One-on-one attention * Plenty of cuddles and affection * Supervised social time with other compatible dogs Drop-offs can be a range of emotions for your dog- from excited, to curious to overwhelm as they enter a new situation. I have guided even the most frightened dog to love coming to my home! I love seeing each dog’s personality shine as they get to know and trust me! I TREAT EVERY DOG LIKE FAMILY I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet. I will reassure you that your pup is having a good time with communication that includes updates and photos/videos. I love sending updates and photos so you can see your dog enjoying their stay. You can relax knowing your furry family member is receiving lots of love and attention while you’re away. My goal is simple: I want your dog to feel safe, comfortable, loved, and excited to come back! WHAT TO BRING To help your dog enjoy a comfortable stay, please bring: * Regular food including favorite snack * Special bed * Any necessary medications * A leash, collar, or harness * Any important instructions regarding their routine I have plenty of bowls, blankets, and doggy bags, so there’s no need to overpack! Bring as little or as much as your pup needs. Whether you’re traveling, heading out for the day, having a dinner party or simply need someone trustworthy to care for your best friend, I would love to welcome them into my home. I can’t wait to meet you and your pup! While I am during the day and available to provide attentive care for your pet. I may step out briefly for errands or other chores but will ensure your pet's needs are fully met. Our home is on one acre with a fenced in yard and great area for walking with lots of trees in a peaceful setting. I have a senior dog (17+ yo) that loves company. We also have cats which are friendly and curious.
“Leigh was so attentive with Goose and he had a great time with her! She was very communicative, sent lots of pictures and videos, and kept us updated on her arrivals and departures. We felt very comfortable with Goose in her hands and will be using her again in the future!”

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Saddle River. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.
For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
