“Sandy is awesome and our Ziggy just loves her. We unexpectedly had to go away again a couple weeks after she watched him the last time. Couldn't be happier than being able to book Sandy again to check in on him, put us totally at ease. She is super and helped when our "hold mail" did not work with the Post office. Thanks Sandy, you are awesome and Ziggy loves you.”

“Marie was great! Always kept me in the loop on how things were going. There was a minor issue in my apartment while I was away and she went above and beyond to make sure my pets were okay. I will definitely use her over and over. 10 stars if I could!”

“Marieux was amazing! She sent tons of pictures of my cat and spent time with her and played with her in addition to making sure she was fed and her litter was cleaned. I will be using her anytime I go out of town and could not recommend her enough! Very pleased!”

“! Brooke did an excellent job walking and feeding my dog! She was reliable, attentive, and made sure my pup was well cared for. Communication was a breeze. Btooke responded quickly to texts and kept me updated. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog walker!”

“Bubbles absolutely loved her visits with Victoria. Victoria was very helpful by bringing in our packages and making sure Bubbles was well taken care of. I would highly recommend her and will use her again when she comes back for Christmas break or breaks.”

“Megan was awesome! Communication was super easy and she was very flexible with our schedule. She took great care of our two dogs and sent us some really great photos of the visits!”

“Angelina is amazing, can’t thank her enough for handling the adversity of my baby getting sick and dealing with last minute unexpected apartment situations. 10/10 would recommend again and again.”

About: I’ve cared for pets for years through pet sitting for family members and friends, and animals have always been an important part of my life. One of my most meaningful experiences was caring for my elderly dog, Oreo, during the later years of his life. As he became less mobile, I helped him with stairs, getting on and off the couch, finding his food and water, and getting around comfortably. Caring for him taught me a lot about patience, gentleness, and paying attention to the little changes that can make a big difference for an older pet. I currently have two cats: Levi, my sweet one-eyed kitty, and Romie, who joined our household when we moved in with his owner. While I don’t currently have a dog of my own because I’m a student and know how much time and dedication dogs deserve, I still absolutely love being around them and getting my dog fix through the pets I care for! I understand that pets aren’t “just pets”, they’re family. Whether your pet needs playtime, cuddles, a patient companion, or a little extra help getting around, I’ll treat them with the same care and attention I’d want someone to give my own. Pet care is already built into my everyday routine. With my own cats, I start by making sure they’re fed and have plenty of fresh water; something I think is especially important and sometimes overlooked with pets. After that, I always make time for attention, whether that means cuddling on the couch, chasing a laser pointer, or simply letting them hang out wherever everyone else is. My cats may be independent, but they still want to be involved in absolutely everything we do! I also give my one-eyed kitty, Levi, his daily eye drop and keep a close eye on his eye since it requires a little extra care. At the end of the day, the cats usually get another round of playtime with a wand toy or whatever has caught their attention that week before finding their favorite cozy spot in our bed. I’m also the proud aunt of a very house-elf-looking wiener dog named Willow. Over the years, I’ve cared for her whenever my sister needed me to, which usually meant walks, meals, fresh water, treats, cuddles, and plenty of time to sniff the neighborhood. After walking a hound for years, I have learned that getting from Point A to Point B is merely a suggestion. Sometimes every single blade of grass apparently requires a full investigation! I’m very patient with that because sniffing and exploring are part of how dogs experience their world, and I’m happy to let them enjoy their walk rather than rush them through it. Once Willow has had her walk and settles down for one of her famous naps, that’s usually when I’ll work on schoolwork or other things I need to get done. Being a student gives me flexibility to work pet care naturally into my day, and I’m very comfortable planning my schedule around feeding times, walks, playtime, medications, check-ins, and whatever routine helps a pet feel most at home. Whether your fur baby is staying with me or I’m checking in on them in the comfort of their own home, my priority is making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I’m more than happy to follow any precautions, routines, house rules, feeding instructions, or little quirks that help your pet feel secure, because you know your animal better than anyone. I truly believe “just a pet” is not a thing. I would want someone caring for my own animals to take their safety and comfort seriously, and I wouldn’t offer another pet parent anything less. I’d love to say I’m Snow White and every animal immediately trusts me, but realistically, every pet has their own personality! I’m happy to give a nervous pet space, earn their trust at their pace, or give an affectionate one all the attention they’re asking for.
“Stacy was a true blessing! From the very beginning, she was quick to answer any questions and always responded to texts right away. My boys, Django and Ace, took to her instantly—which says a lot, especially with their personalities. Her gentleness and genuine love for animals really shines through. You can tell she’s not just doing this for a paycheck—she truly cares. She made sure to understand our needs and was very open and flexible with our schedule. If you’re looking for someone who treats your pups like her own, I highly recommend Stacy. We felt completely at ease with her!”

“Denise did amazing with Foxy! I got so many picture updates and notes each day about how she was doing. So glad I booked with her and she took such great care of my senior baby :)”

About: I have always loved being a caretaker for anyone's pup. I am the one person in a room full of people searching for the dog on the floor. I begged for my own for as long as I can remember. My parents finally caved when I was 14 and got my brother and I a dog! Her name was Maddie and she was a 3 year old chocolate lab. She had some health problems and would occasionally have seizures, but we loved her with everything we had. My family and I learned everything we could to keep her healthy and happy; from medication to calming techniques. And that is what we did for the next 7 years! When Maddie passed in 2021, we could not shake the feeling of not having that puppy energy around us and not having something to take care of. We got Cece, a golden doodle puppy in January 2023. Learning to care for a new puppy has been a very tough, yet enlightening experience. It has made me want to care for other little AND big pups as well! I am able to feed, bathe, brush, walk, run, swim, play, basically anything! I do work a full-time job- 35 hours per week. For overnight pet sitting, I am more than happy to sleep there and continue my normal work schedule during the day. I am an early riser so I am more than able to house sit/walk/drop in early in the morning 5am-9am and after work 5:30-11pm or later if needed! I am pretty much completely free for whatever on the weekends! I would treat every dog like I treat my own. Learn what makes them most comfortable, observe and take note of their triggers (if any), get to know their schedule (i.e. sleep, eat, bathroom, special accommodations) while being super attentive, and of course shower them with love!

About: Hi my name is Sienna and I’m so excited to meet new friends! I babysit all kinds of pets and ready for anything! I have two cats, one dog and a hedgehog of my own so I know my way around! I had a pup for 17 years so I’m very familiar with different age groups. I now have a 4 month old puppy and she’s crazyyy. I love animals so I’m excited to meet new pets! I’m currently a college student so trying to save up for classes books ect! I’m going for my BA so definitely takes up time! When im off of classes im open to coming after im done! My classes are in the morning so most of my afternoons are free! Just send me a text and ask what works for you and I’ll be able to give you a time that helps you the most :) I like to take pets on walks to help them get out of the house, I know dogs love to go explore and I’m up for it too! Most of the days are hot so the best times are in the afternoon so works perfectly for me!
“Michael was very helpful with my last minute cat sitting needs. He provided short but thorough updates each visit, and my cats definitely appreciated their playtime.”

About: I have taken care of dogs since before I can remember. I have grown up around dogs and a few cats my whole life, and I truly love helping others take care of their furry best friends too! I am going into my freshman year of college locally this Fall 2026 and I would love to be able to work around my class schedule and my schedule with my sales job. I make sure pets have everything they need including their food, water, and whatever else their owners need me to give them. I take dogs outside for either a 10-15 minute walk a few times a day or, if you have a backyard, I’ll play with the dog in the backyard. I give both dogs and cats lots of pets and attention during my time with them and make sure I leave the house clean of anything the pets have done while the owners weren’t home. I make sure all the doors leading into the house are securely locked before leaving and make sure that nothing harmful to the pets is left within their reach.
About: I have experience with large and small dogs, cats, and exotics like reptiles (I own a bearded dragon). My home has pets if yours would like to play with mine, but mine are also crate trained if yours need their own space! I work from home mostly, so your pets will be supervised while I am with them. I am available and able to do walks, potty breaks and plenty of snuggle and playtime. I have a fenced yard and three friendly dogs to play with yours if they would like. Otherwise mine can be crated and come out on a rotation so yours can have personalized attention.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Rubonia
Our two kitties are friendly but shy of strangers, so we didn't expect much interaction between them and Catherine. Not so; by the second day everyone was the best of friends, Maybe the cats can sense kindness because we believe Catherine went out of her way to be kind to them. She spent time with them and communicated promptly with us while we were gone. We loved what she did for us, and for sure she is our "go-to" person for future pet care.
I had to book Aspen very last minute due to a cancelation and she was definitely the right choice. I've never seen my cats warm up to someone so quickly. They clearly liked her. She also did a very good job of keeping the food, water, and litter box full and clean.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
