“Leah has been absolutely amazing taking care of my dog Otis while I recover from surgery. She is easy to communicate with, shows up on time with a smile, and most importantly clearly truly cares about Otis being happy and getting the care he needs. I am incredibly grateful to have found such a wonderful and caring person to help take care of my pet.”

“Jason has popped in for a week so far and is doing a great job. He gives very detailed summaries and responds quickly to any messages he receives. I look forward to having Jason take care of Macy in the coming months.”

“Hunter was very communicative during the visits with our puppy as well as while scheduling a meet and greet. She was also very punctual during the visits and provided a great summary of how it went.”

About: Hello! Thanks for checking out my profile! I am a former elementary teacher turned professional dog walker, dog trainer, + pet sitter for over 20 years + counting! I am excited to provide services in my hometown of South Berwick + nearby towns such as Eliot, The Berwicks, Dover, + Rollinsford. Please take the time to read through the details + ask any questions! References are readily available at every Meet & Greet for your peace of mind. What sets me apart is that I more than just experience as a "pet lover" + dog owner. I have a wide range of hands-on experience with not only dogs but also cats, rabbits, birds, guinea pigs, + more! ** My availability is open on Tuesdays + Thursdays as well as Friday morning late afternoon & evening. Open on Saturday & Sunday. My professional pet sitting + dog walking company "Teacher's Pet Sitting Service" began in 2006 in Manchester, NH, + moved to the seacoast serving a client base of countless pets + I'm broadening my services on Rover to reach more clients. My greatest strength is dog walking + dog training. I have been mentored by top respected dog trainers which has helped me ensure that dogs stay engaged, safe, calm, & well managed. No behavior, size, or breed is too challenging for me due to my understanding of dog body language + calm management that have helped dogs feel confident + comfortable. I can even help you troubleshoot common behaviors such as chronic barking, pulling, etc, + do private training in your home! When we meet we will review all of the details for their care, take a tour of your home to learn where their food, bowls, litter boxes, etc, are located & we will review their routine. With me, I will not rush through the visits. In fact, you'll likely learn that I will stay a bit longer if your pets need extra TLC! I know how important & reassuring it is to have ongoing communication & detailed notes & multiple pictures so that is prioritized for your peace of mind! Please note that I do not board pets in my home. Please reach out if you have any questions! I look forward to hearing about your pets! P.S. Due to 22 years of experience + travel expenses, my BASE rate for ONE dog is $35.00 if clients live outside of South Berwick. Rates will be calculated on your location. Providing service in my South Berwick hometown, Eliot, Rollinsford, + Dover but there may be exceptions to travel further so please ask! I adjust my schedule according to your pet's schedule as closely as possible. ✔️When your dog is triggered by other dogs, people, etc, I will reverse directions or cross the street to avoid any reactivity. ✔️ Under NO circumstances, I will not take your dog to "say hi" to dogs or people including the mailman for safety + liability. ✔️Dogs must be indoors in between visits for safety reasons. ✔️Slow & safe exits out of doorways to ensure that dogs do not escape. ✔️I do not take dogs to the dog park for liability and safety reasons. ✔️I do not leave dogs out in the yard in-between visits due to possible injury, escapes, weather concerns, anxiety, etc. ✔️ All cats must be indoors
“Abigail was incredibly flexible and so thoughtful when it came to our pups. They immediately took to her and although her care was brief we know we'll be bringing her back for future needs.”

About: I have had dogs my entire life. I have taken care of my own dogs as well as friends and neighbors. I have experience with labs, golden retrievers, German shepherds, Rottweilers, and pit bulls mostly but love all dogs. I currently work full time Monday-Friday but would love to help people with walking their pets/letting them out after work or on the weekends. I can’t have pets in my apartment and greatly miss interacting with dogs! I am very respectful of other people’s homes. I am clean and appreciate instructions/rules on where food, collars/leashes, treats, etc are. I will keep your furry companions company, provide long walks, and scratches of course!
About: I've taken care of friends & family's dogs for the past 10 years, however for the past year and a half I've been a certified foster with The Grateful Dog rescue. My first foster, a two year old bulldog mix I had for 10 months. With her we learned leash training and manners/boundaries with other dogs. My second foster, was a 7 month old pitbull mix who ended up being a medical foster that I had for 5 months. With her, we learned house training, leash training, muzzle training, crate training, and basic commands. She was also extremely anxious and fearful with other dogs & people, so we did a TON of work to get her ready for getting adopted into a new environment. My last foster, was a two year old bulldog who needed a space with a structure and a schedule to help with his anxiety of being re-homed twice. Due to my apartment, I'm no longer able to foster, however I've taken on the role of event coordinator which often involves handling anxious/nervous pups in the high energy environment of adoption events. I've been missing the dog snuggles and walks and joined Rover to help fill that void. I'm currently working full time, Monday-Friday. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday I work 9am - 5:30 pm. on Thursdays I work 11:30am - 8 pm. I Currently work remotely which allows for a lot of flexibility in making dog sitting/walking work. When it comes to going on walks, I have experience with strong dogs who pull on the leash, reactive dogs (both positive and negative reactions to other dogs and people) and muzzle training/wearing. I have experience with crate training, as the rescue that I fostered with requires that all of their dogs be crate trained.
“So glad I found Tara to watch my 6-month old pup for the day while I needed to travel to a meeting. As a mostly work from home dog mom, I was nervous about leaving my boy with someone new for the first time. Tara put me (and my Murphy) at ease! I came home from my meeting and he was as content as can be. We will definitely be using Tara again!”

“Stephanie did a great job watching our pups over a long weekend. She provided detailed information for each visit, and shared pictures of the pups. Our dogs seemed instantly comfortable with her during the meet and greet, and we felt at ease knowing she was watching them.”

About: My earliest memory was of adopting my first dog, a Weimaraner we named Halle. Since then, caring for dogs has been a staple part of my life. Few things are as exciting to me as meeting a new dog and learning all about their habits. I've sitted small and medium sized dogs of neighbors and family members for the last 10 years or so. I can handle dogs of any age, but I have lots of experience with senior dogs. Additionally, I've been trained by a veterinarian to supply IV fluids as well as administer other kinds of medication effectively such as pills or liquids. If your pet needs this extra care, I can provide it. I work remotely, so I can spend my work days keeping your dog company while you are away. I am unavailable Monday evenings, but otherwise I am available for drop ins any day of the week. Making your dog feel comfortable and safe is my top priority task. The second most important task is being respectful of my client's property while caring for pets in their home. I know the anxious feeling of leaving your pet with someone else, so I will strive to earn your trust so you can focus on enjoying your time out of town. Additionally, I always perform leash/collar checks to ensure they are securely fastened.
About: Hello there! My name is Kevin. I am an animal lover working remotely with a flexible schedule. I can work from anywhere with a good internet connection. I will be there for your pets as needed and keep you informed about the experience. My sister also works from Rover and she communicated that there was a need for local and committed dog walkers in the Somersworth/Dover area. What a great idea! If you're looking for a local dog walker who can commit to walks or drop-ins around set days every week, I'm happy to help with that. I work from home and have a flexible schedule. If the stay is from Monday to Friday, I only need a strong internet connection to work remotely. ~ WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT ~ We will review anything you'd like before you leave, and I will do my best to accommodate. Below I will outline what to expect from each service to reduce confusion: ~HOUSESITTING The housesitting rate covers you for 24 hours. I would be coming to your home to watch over it and care for your pet(s) most hours of the day + overnight. Long-distant meet + greets $25 for 10–20 miles away $50 for 20–45 miles away Let’s set something up if you’re interested! ~DROP-IN VISITS I will be dropping by for 30-60 minutes to check in on your pet(s): - Let dogs out for a potty break - Clean cat litter box - Feed + water them - Play + cuddle with them - Pic or video updates ~DOG WALKING I would be coming to your house to take your dog(s) for a 30 - 60-minute walk in your neighborhood.

Rollinsford pet parents share their Rover experiences
Hiring Tara was my first experience with using Rover and I'm so happy for that decision! My other searches for finding help left me down to the wire with finding a sitter for my cats while we were on vacation. Tara was prompt with her responses and saves the day! I had not left 3 if my 6 cats alone overnight before, so I was very nervous, but she did such a fantastic job taking care of all my babies. I loved getting pictures of them every day, which also made my kiddo very happy. I'm so appreciative of the fantastic care Tara provided and we will definitely hire her again in the future.
