“Christine did a great job with our furbabies! She was reliable, communicate, and the cats seemed at ease. Really provided a sense of relief that they were well taken care of. Would definitely recommend.”
“I have a senior cat that needs transdermal medication twice a day. Jason took great care of my cat while we were away for the weekend, and gave informative reports of each visit. When he first came to meet us I could tell that he understands cats - he did not invade her personal space, and allowed her to warm up to him on her terms.”

“Donna and Kim are by far the nicest people you could have in your home to take care of your fur babies. They are dependable, caring, and flexible if you need them to be. Thanks to you both, I appreciate you!”

About: I have been taking care of dogs since my first dog sitting job in 2023! I cared for 2 elderly dogs and two lovely cats! I feel very comfortable caring for any type of dog, including very young and elderly ones! I have experience with providing fur babies with medication! I love to play with fur babies and also take them on walks! Or just spend lazy inside time with them! I’m currently working part time, this allows so much time for pet care and play time! I am also very active and am enthusiastic and available to go on walks! I am very attentive while caring for pet babies! I have dog sat many times and I always make sure I make myself available for play time, walks, and meals! I feel comfortable getting dogs in their crates and giving them medication!
“Lisa was amazing! Helped us out last minute and was amazing with Roscoe. Sent us pictures and that was greatly appreciated. Our first time away from the boy, difficult for all of us. This will be easier next time for sure thanks to Lisa. We will definitely be using Lisa again. Kind, courtesy and professional. Thank you Lisa.”

About: I’ve owned and worked with dogs my whole life. I am the owner of a grooming salon and have worked in dog daycares as well as an animal hospital. We will treat your pups like our own! 🥰 We like to stick with what they are used to at home. Sleep on the bed? No prob! Snuggle on the couch? You got it! But if you have rules you are working on we are happy to help with those too. We have a large fenced in yard but the snow is high right now. So to be safe we are only taking dogs under 30 lbs. I have always specialized in senior dog care so if you have e an older buddy they are in good hands! ♥️Can’t wait to meet your pups! Also, we have 2 small dogs so yours must be ok with other pups. My husband and I both work from home so it’s easy for us to give the pups attention and care all day. Together we have plenty of time for walks, play, and snuggles! I have a large fenced in yard, but if you prefer walks that’s totally doable. I also have a Chinese crested mix and a Schnoodle who are very used to new dogs in the home. We also have baby chicks in the house until spring but they are in enclosures. In case your pup has a high prey drive, they can be moved to a safer area. 😆
“Dawn was absolutely amazing! She took care of our 2 fur babies with such love and care! She sent us pictures and a text every day with updates on how they were doing. I will recommend Dawn to everyone and we will absolutely book with her anytime we need to travel!! Five Stars!!!!”

“We had such a stress free weekend getaway because we knew that our dog was in good hands. Julie was amazing, & kept us informed with each visit. We will definitely be booking her again!”

About: Iv had pets my whole life and have pet sat for friends and family many times in the past. I live on the second floor so it might be hard for senior dogs unless they don’t mind being carried, I’m relatively strong so heavier pets won’t be a problem, I can provide puppy pads for puppies and have a large litter box that is sanitized between uses. I am not currently working so I have all the extra time in the world, My children are at school for 8 hours of the day so if your pet(s) prefer no kids the morning/afternoon would be best for you, they’re older and calm kids who love pets so if your pet is ok with kids they’ll get along great. I have an unfenced yard but not many neighbors, I have a fenced in balcony and lots of trails for walking dogs if that’s what they would like to do.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Rochester. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
